The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Finally!
Finally the Spring weather was warming up in preparation for Summer. People didn't have to wear jackets or sweaters out anymore on most days. Tank tops and shorts were becoming more and more common among those strolling around the City. Sunglasses and flip flops were making their appearances again.
And then there were those that were finally comfortable enough to venture outdoors period, clothing optional. Aleksandr never wore clothes anyhow. It was the whole cold blooded thing that had kept him indoors during the chillier weather. That, and his phobia of freezing to death.
But now that the weather was finally being cooperative for someone of his biological makeup, there was nothing that could keep him inside. He'd nearly torn his tails out waiting for winter to pass. There was no way he was going to spend a moment indoors unless he absolutely had to.
To celebrate his newly regained freedom, he decided he'd take a glide through Central Park where there'd be plenty of room for someone of his size to wander around and enjoy the sunshine.
That was probably the thing he missed the most. He'd been wanting to put a sunlamp in his room but in the excitement of his move to New York and the adjustments to settling in a new home, it had entirely slipped his mind until it was too late. He'd suffered long enough without the sun. He planned to spend most of his day soaking it up.
While he did spend some time slithering his way down various paved pathways, giving a greeting to those he passed, especially the lovely young women, his real goal was to lay about in one of the open fields. The pavement was nice in some places, the asphalt finally beginning to hold in some of the heat of the day, but unpaved ground was so much more comfortable on his scaled underside.
Once he'd selected a spot to settle down in, a good distance away from any other sunbathers and picnicking families, he sprawled out to his full length. No section of his scaled flesh overlapped itself as he settled into the grass, his aim being to soak up as much sun as he possibly could. Twisting just below his hip area so that his more human half lay belly up, he folded his arms under his head and the slowly moving mass of tails that covered it and closed his eyes. This was looking to be a good day.

Fine weather brought out all sorts of odd characters, and not just of the mutant variety. There was simply something about the change in the seasons that drew everybody out, Gina included. It was finally shorts and tank top weather, and so she was meandering around in such an outfit, paired with a thin jacket to block the occasional breeze.
Why she had gravitated towards Central Park was beyond her-- it was too crowded for her liking, but all of New York felt pretty crowded for this small-town native. Gina closed her eyes and enjoyed the walk, letting the sun soak on her wings as she ignored the attempts at furtive stares made in her direction. It was a nice day, and she wouldn't allow for some uneasy humans to ruin it.
Gina let her gaze wander from sunbather to picnicking family, and her stomach grumbled obnoxiously. Gina held her stomach. She should have brought some food with, or at least money with which she could have bought food. Damn.
A good deal off of the trail, something caught the young gargoyle's eye. At first, she thought maybe it was a man, whose legs were tangled in an abnormally long blanket. An unlikely notion, so she peered a little closer. Upon further inspection she noted that he actually seemed to have the lower half of a snake, and that it was his tail splayed out across the open lawn.
"Now, that's a tail," Gina murmured enviously under her breath, looking at her own tail. Some joggers were approaching, and were also staring at the snake-man, and so Gina stepped out of the way to avoid being trampled. They didn't notice her until they were practically on top of her, and veered to the other side of the sidewalk preventatively.
"Good morning," Gina greeted sweetly, giving them a sarcastic, toothless smile. They echoed the sentiment half-heartedly and quickened their pace, leaving the gargoyle watching their backs smuggly. She continued to wander onto the grass, but did not approach the snake-man, at first. He was sunning himself, seemed to be enjoying the sun, and probably didn't want to be bothered.

Wonderful, marvelous, fantastic. Sunshine. It felt like it had been forever since Aleksandr had been so deliciously warm. Sure, indoors he could go the feline route and curl up in any patch of sunlight that fell through the windows and onto the floor, but in the winter it seemed to give off more light than actual heat, leading to more frustration.
He could also turn up the thermostat for his room, but he could only crank it so high before he imagined someone would get cranky about the heating bill. Besides, that was dry heat and too much of it dried his skin out and made his scales itch terribly. Compared to those options, sprawling out in the real sun was like a little piece of heaven.
Slowly, but constantly he was shifting his tail, looking to keep his flesh pressed into the warmer patches of grass after the sun on it had been obstructed by his body for a time and cooled the ground down again.
Only a few times when a stray child, and occasionally an older individual, wandered over would he pause and remain perfectly still, eyes closed after a quick peek. If they got close enough he began shifting again or maybe flicking his tongue out, aiming to startle the bold individual and grinning devilishly if they ended up jumping or squealing and bolting back to their families. Who said laying around had to be boring?
At the sound of another pair of feet treading on the grass, he fell fairly still again. They sounded fairly light and weren't giving off much vibration, though that wasn't saying to much. Loose ground was harder to read than pavement. In any case it sounded to be a smaller individual, though the steps weren't clumsy like that of a child. Not quite so bold, either, as they seemed to stop a fair distance away.
Unable to stifle his curiosity at the newcomer, one eye opened and swiveled in the direction he thought the steps had come from. He couldn't help turning his head and giving the young woman his full attention. With a curious flick of his tongue to catch her scent, he took in the sight of the gray girl. Horns, tail, oddly shaped feet and a rather impressive set of wings. Now this was interesting.
"Allo," he greeted, shifting onto his side and propping his head up in one hand, making it easier to keep her in his line of site as well as allowing the sun to reach his back. "You are out enjoying weather, maybe?"

The snake-man lazily opened an eye, peering over at her. Gina stopped in her tracks, smiling apologetically with a, "Pardon me." Had she awoken him? He sniffed the air in a typical snakelike fashion, and then rolled over onto his side, offering her a greeting and surveying her more openly.
"'Allo to you, too," Gina smiled, studying him as she moved closer. He was scaled from head to toe, slender and muscular like an athlete. His face was distinctly snakelike, she made note of as she came closer, and hair like snake-tails wreathed his head. He was alternatingly cream-and-black over the entirety his body, spare his honey-gold gaze which lingered on her unwaveringly. Unlike when a human gazed at her so openly, Gina wasn't very shaken by his steady gaze.
"Yes," she admitted, when close enough to talk in conversational tones, "One can only stay inside for so long, and I was getting a bit stir-crazy, you know? But I'd have to wait until at least dusk to, you know--" she pointed skyward, to imply flying, "--Or else people panic, thus the walking... is it safe to assume that you're out here for the same reason?"

Aleksandr couldn't help but grin a bit when the girl stopped so abruptly. It reminded him a bit of the rabbits he used to hunt when they froze to listen for him. She didn't look much like a prey creature. If anything, he'd pin her as a predator like himself, judging from the claws and the glimpse of pointed teeth given when she spoke. It made the image all the more amusing for him.
As she made her way closer, he moved to sit up straighter, his tail coiling up behind him. His grin changed into a gentler smile as he leaned the more human portion of his back against the pile of tail and raised his arms on either side of him to rest his elbows in a groove between coils, letting his hands dangle. He was putting himself is a pose more appropriate to carry a conversation in as well as attempting to put her more at ease. She couldn't have been too nervous if she was approaching him, but he knew from experience that initial bravery could sometimes wear off fairly quickly for those in his presence.
When she spoke again his expression changed once more, his smile growing very pleased and his back straightening a bit in his sudden excitement. Now here was someone that could sympathize with him and vice versa. "Da, da!" he replied enthusiastically, his Russian slipping into his sentences as per usual.
"Cold blooded," he said, gesturing to himself, "I cannot leave shelter in cold weather for very long. I prefer to stay inside where is warm. There is only so much to take before the stir-crazy." He'd nearly torn his tails out with boredom while he'd been cooped up at the Mansion. Spring couldn't have come soon enough.
Her hesitation to fly was a shame. Aleksandr was a firm believer in embracing one's mutation and enjoying it to its fullest, no matter what other people might think of it. "I think daytime flying would only be problem if you make trouble. If no trouble, there is no reason for panic." He gave a little shrug. The police couldn't really arrest her for gliding around, could they? Where was the crime in that? "People are uncomfortable to see me move by. Does not cause me any bother. I mind own business, they do not usually mind so much. Police may speak to me, but I cause no trouble."

The man sat up, propping him self up on his tail as he coiled it behind him. So he was alright with talking. Gina smiled, and took a seat alongside him. Nothing like conversing with total strangers to mix things up. He beamed like a child as she explained her situation, urging her on with a sort of, "Yeah, yeah."
"Cold blooded-- I cannot leave shelter in cold weather for very long. I prefer to stay inside where is warm. There is only so much to take before the stir-crazy."
As he spoke, Gina couldn't help but realize the accent. Russian, she mused. It was nice to hear something other than New Yorker, for a change, but she kind of missed hearing that Californian twang. It would figure that a guy who was mostly-snake would be cold-blooded.
"That's too bad," she replied, "Being stuck inside all winter." She'd only been stuck inside when the weather was poor, but had ventured out, on occasion, when the sky was clear. She'd just return borderline-hypothermic from all the moisture in the air soaking and crystalizing on her wings, but at least she got out.
"I think daytime flying would only be problem if you make trouble. If no trouble, there is no reason for panic--" Boy, Gina thought, if only it were that simple, "--People are uncomfortable to see me move by. Does not cause me any bother. I mind own business, they do not usually mind so much. Police may speak to me, but I cause no trouble."
There was a serious difference between walking by someone and flying over their heads, Gina wanted to retort. It's much more of a spectacle when someone flies over your head, then when they just... slither by.
"I suppose so," Gina replied, smiling as if in thought, "It's just that I'm not used to that sort of attention-- back, in my hometown, there aren't many people, and everyone was used to me flying around. And now, in New York--" she puffed her cheeks out, looking for the right words. Let's not get too sentimental on the guy, he just wanted to talk, Gina warned herself. "--There are a lot more people." Who don't know me, Gina added on mentally. Who are uneasy about me. And there will always be a new person seeing me for the first time in this big city.

"Is not as bad as Russian winter, but would rather be warm inside than out in cold, "Aleksandr replied with a small shrug, trying to make it seem like his cold-induced captivity wasn't all that big of a deal. In truth he was a bit of a drama queen on some occasions, but freezing to death seemed like a good reason to mope around indoors for the season. However, she didn't need to know about that little fear of his, nor how truly sensitive he was about the cold. He had to keep up appearances, after all, particularly in front of a lovely young lady.
He settled back down a bit as the conversation did and as the gargoylish girl took a seat. It looked like this one's nerve was stronger than most people's. Many could hardly keep their cool long enough to pass by him on the sidewalk, nevermind sit and have a chat with him. It was a pleasant change of pace, though he had to remind himself that mutants often weren't wary of other mutants like humans were, particularly those that had their own visible oddities.
"Is not easy to be comfortable in mutant skin, but is not impossible," he offered. He imagined mutations were a lot easier to deal with when they could be concealed. When something as simple as stepping out your front door draws everyone's attention, it's very easy to get unnerved and become isolated.
"Registration Act is long over. Mutants are more welcome in cities, nyeht? Humans are easy to scare, but they will be used to seeing flying if it happens often," he proposed, completely believing what he had to say. People weren't actively trying to get mutants locked up anymore, so they must have reached some kind of common ground where they could put themselves out in the open without fear.
Of course, he didn't expect the girl to take his words to heart immediately. If she was nervous, it would take time to get over it. "Will take practice, da. You do not seem to be scared easily. Big snake man is more scary than any human and you speak to one. You will find comfort with time."

"Is not as bad as Russian winter, but would rather be warm inside than out in cold."
"But it's definitely much colder than a Californian winter," Gina countered, chuckling. Her hometown had been cool, courtesy of its proximity to the Pacific Ocean. However, the chill of Californian weather was small change as compared to the New York freeze. It had never snowed in Mendocino. However, apparently New York wasn't as bad as Russia. Gina shivered as she imagined Russia's winter weather. Now that would give her really bad stir-craze.
"Is not easy to be comfortable in mutant skin, but is not impossible," the snake-man countered in response to Gina's discomfort about the attention.
She chuckled, and agreed with a, "Yeah," She should know. She was a teenage girl, and as it was, she was genetically predispositioned to be uncomfortable in her skin every now and again. Being a visible mutant only multiplied that discomfort by tenfold. She gave him that. But, being as blindly optimistic as she was, she had a feeling that she'd grow somewhat more comfortable with the skin that she was in.
"Registration Act is long over. Mutants are more welcome in cities, nyeht? Humans are easy to scare, but they will be used to seeing flying if it happens often," the snake-man pressed on, offering more sage advice. Ooh, mention of the Registration Act gave Gina a chill, too. She'd been so much younger when it had happened, and it had left a bitter taste in her mouth. To maintain her freedom, she'd been pulled out of school and home-schooled for a long time. It was not a fond memory.
"You've obviously given this quite a bit of thought," she complimented, "I see what you're saying." But that didn't change the fact that she was so self-conscious. Her outgoing tendencies and her chipper mood was just her way by which she tried to hide that she looked like a demon. Actually coming to terms with this would take more than a simple conversation.
"Will take practice, da. You do not seem to be scared easily. Big snake man is more scary than any human and you speak to one. You will find comfort with time."
"Not scary," Gina countered. If she thought of him as scary, that would make Gina a hypocrite. She found him intriguing, as she did any other visibly mutated mutant, "Intimidating, perhaps, or cool, but not scary." And, call her strange, but he wasn't nearly as intimidating as a normal person. The only thing about him that really worried her was how immense he was. Even though they'd been sitting, conversing, Gina realized that they hadn't even exchanged names yet.

Aleksandr nodded again. He had heard of California weather before, as well as weather in climates more suitable for someone with his toleration for the cold than New York's. It had been the mutant activity that had ultimately brought him to the city, though. He could put up with the winters for a while in exchange for some good mutie interactions. Particularly at the school where he could pass on his views on mutant pride to the younger students.
"There was Registration scare in Russia when I live there," he replied, readjusting his tail a bit so he could recline a little more and fold his hands behind his head among the slowly moving tails."Was big time for pride in mutant community. I see many parades and rallies by mutants. Was easy to grow own pride in such places." As we as learning to appreciate his own dashing good looks.
He smiled appreciatively as she denied his claim to being scary, particularly at the word 'cool'. He could work with intimidating, too. Particularly if it was in the context of how gorgeous he was."Spaseeba,"* he said, casually brushing a hand down the scales on his chest, as if ridding himself of some dust or something else that may have marred their lovely shine before placing it back behind his head. "I also do not think you are scary. Such lovely young lady should not be afraid to show off."
Gina. A lovely name for a lovely young woman. It would not be hard to remember. "Aleksandr," he said, offering a hand to her for a more formal greeting. Of course he wouldn't settle for a simple handshake. He was much more the type to place a kiss on a young woman's knuckles as a greeting.
"If you do not mind question, why do you move from California?"

"There was Registration scare in Russia when I live there. Was big time for pride in mutant community. I see many parades and rallies by mutants. Was easy to grow own pride in such places."
Gina listened attentively, reclining so that she was propped up on her hands. Her town had not been untouched by the Registration, but as most of the town's occupants and been mutant sympathists, nearly everyone had avoided being registered. Gina, having attended school outside of town, had dropped out and resorted to home-schooling.
The snake-man preaned as Gina denied that he was frightening, muttering something in Russian as he pretended to dust himself off. Gina chuckled at his antics, covering her smile with a hand. What a character, this guy was. He returned the compliment, commenting that, "I also do not think you are scary. Such lovely young lady should not be afraid to show off."
Gina laughed, faintly, holding a hand to her cheek to stop the blush that she knew was arising. She wasn't too accustomed to such compliments, but she liked them. But, then again, what woman didn't like getting compliments? Sure, her mother would often comment that she looked beautiful in this dress, or something like that, but mothers were supposed to think that. To get such a compliment from someone who was essentially a stranger was flattering.
"Thank you," she said simply, "You're too kind."
The snake man proffered a hand, introducing himself as Aleksandr, and Gina leaned forward to take his hand, with a humored, "Nice to meet you."
"If you do not mind question, why do you move form California?"
"Oh, that's easy," Gina answered, reclining once again. She curled her tail around her legs as she continued, " I came here for school. Xavier's. I was homeschooled during the Registration, and decided that I wanted to meet other mutants, so... I came to New York." She was certain that there were other, closer schools, but Xavier's was probably one of the best.

"Pazhalooysta." A slightly devilish element entered Aleksandr's grin at her reaction to his compliments. Loving to be told so himself, he also knew that women liked being told they were pretty, though some were a little iffy when the sentiments were coming from a giant serpent such as himself. Gina didn't seem at all bothered by the way he looked, so she was free to enjoy them as she saw fit.
He was fairly good at reading body language in such situations and it wasn't hard to see that she was trying to hide a blush. Briefly he wondered what kind of color a grey-skinned individual would turn when they blushed, or if any color showed up at all. In any case his ego enjoyed being fluffed by such a response.
One brow quirked as she answered his question. "You live in Mansion?" he asked, grinning a bit wider, "I live in Mansion! I do not take classes, but I find is good place to live. I come to find more mutant activity and to escape Russian winter," he explained, pleased to meet someone else that resided in the school. He'd spent a lot of time grumping about by himself during the colder months. It was nice to meet someone pleasantly with the promise that they may run into each other again.
"You are enjoying Mansion?" he asked, shifting his bulk again to sun different patches of his scales. "Is nice to be part of such community. Is like big family. I am hoping to make more friends there."

"You live in Mansion? I live in Mansion! I do not take classes, but I find is good place to live. I come to find more mutant activity and to escape Russian winter."
Gina smiled openly. Fancy that, he lived in the mansion, too! But how, had she missed a giant snake-man meandering around, particularly on school days when she was inside all the time. Oh, he didn't attend classes. But still, she would have liked to have met him in that context, too.
Aleksandr shifted, exposing different scales towards the sun as he inquired, "You are enjoying Mansion?"
"Yeah," Gina admitted, shifting her weight and moving into a cross-legged position. From here, she could comfortably toy with the grass that was beneath them. She sighed and truthfully confessed, "The Mansion's lovely, what with all the classes, and the other mutants. I don't think I've ever seen so many mutant kids my age in one place."
Even Mendocino hadn't had that many mutant children. Though the town was full of sympathists, only about 5-10% percent of the town bore the active X-gene, and less than half of that showed it. Gina had been the only visibly-mutated child of her age while she was growing up.
"Is nice to be part of such community," Aleksandr agreed, "Is like big family. I am hoping to make more friends there."
"Well," Gina commented, "You can add one friend to that list." She smiled toothlessly, letting her gaze train on Alexsandr's face once again.

Nod, nod. "Rallies in Russia have many mutants, but every day is not so many. I was well known mutant in St. Petersburg. Not so many have looks like me. Popularity is nice, but is also lonely," he replied, stretching one arm out to untangle his wrist from a pair of tails that had snaked around it. "Bigger mutant population is one reason I move here." Also to give his family the space it required to regain some sense of normalcy.
He smiled appreciatively at her offer of friendship, pleased that she found him entertaining enough that she wouldn't mind seeing him again around their shared home. It was a shame he hadn't run into her before. She was very pleasant company.
"Spas-" Well now what was this? He gave a bit of a puzzled look to his winged companion before sliding his torso closer to the ground and gliding a short way around the side of his coiled bulk. Blinking a moment in slight confusion, his expression quickly turned into one of amusement.
Someone nearby had lost track of their child who was now amusing himself by slapping his small palm against a patch of the snake man's scales. He couldn't have been more than three or four years old. Aleksandr assumed he belonged to the closest couple who were standing not too far away engaged in an animated conversation with a third party.
Looking back over his shoulder he gave the gargoyle girl a wink before rolling over on his back and flicking his tongue out at the child to catch his attention. The bug-eyed stare he got in return was priceless.
Pulling his head tails over to the opposite side of his body, lest they accidentally curl around an ankle or into the hem of clothing and incite a screaming fit, the serpentine young man then quickly settled down with one hand hidden beneath his head and the other resting on his chest.
Giving another playful flick of his blue tongue, he finally got the child moving away from his tail and closer to his upper body where he could keep a better eye on the kid and the parents could more easily spot him.
He grinned and cast a sidelong glance back at Gina as the child somewhat unsteadily made his way over, seemingly intent on investigating the odd tongue that had caught his attention. Aleksandr was careful to steer the little hands away from his face, lest they accidentally find his eyes or an uncovered fang. The kid seemed content to resume prodding at and slapping his hands against the odd flesh of the snake man's stomach.
"You like children?" he asked of Gina, giving a slight 'Oomph!' with a particularly rough strike from the kid. He glanced back at the miniature person when a delighted shriek was emitted, a deep chuckle reverberating through his scaled chest.
A slightly less pleased shriek sounded a short distance off. Apparently Mommy had finally realized her little bundle of joy had wandered off and had chosen some less-than-desirable playmates to investigate. Daddy very quickly had a phone in his hand. It wouldn't be long before he was stomping over to collect his child and likely try to start a fight. The phone was probably connecting to the police.
Aleksandr simply grinned even wider. "Parents do not like me so much," he commented, not particularly caring if a squad car showed up or if Daddy had some words to exchange with him. People rarely pursued fights with the snake man once he 'stood' up. And cops were easily enough dismissed. News crews were the really fun part. He loved having his face plastered in newspapers and chatting with the lovely young reporters.
What Gina might think of such things was a different matter. However, he wasn't in any particular rush to repair the situation.

Aleksandr explained the Russian mutant rallies, and how he was very well-known in St. Petersburg. Gina knew the feeling. She was one of the notorious mutants in Mendocino, and some people came just to see her. She nodded her head wordlessly, glad that he was willing to accept her friendship. He was about to say something, but then broke off quizzically.
Aleksandr gave Gina a funny look before slithering a short way over the grass, peering over his coils at something that had snagged his attention. Gina maneuvered how she sat, trying to get a better look at what Aleksandr had found so fascinating. She got on her knees, then stood up, spying the toddler that was toying with Aleksandr's tail.
Aleksandr glanced over and winked at her, before glancing back at the child, drawing him over with a flick of his tongue. Gina waited, standing and watching as the child moved away from the tail and began toddling towards the opposite end of Aleksandr's body. The child continued to touch Aleksandr inquiringly, much in the way that children often would with unfamiliar things. Gina settled down with the two of them, chuckling.
"You like children?" Aleksandr asked, as the child hit his stomach roughly. The child shrieked in excitement, and both Aleksandr and Gina chuckled. The little boy glanced over at her, laughing with an open, mischevious grin upon his face, as if to say, Did you see what I just did? Did you hear that funny noise?
"I love children," Gina confirmed. Kids knew no inhibition-- they asked the questions that most were too "proper" to ask, they approached the mutants that their adult counterparts avoided, and they were so cute. Kids were the future, the future of equality, and Gina liked that idea very much. The child toddled between the two of them, losting his balance and stumbling. Motherly instinct kicked in and Gina caught him, careful with her clawwed hands, as she righted him once again. She smiled as the boy giggled and began slapping her hands.
"I guess I got his seal of approval," she commented, releasing him. Someone else shrieked in terror, which led Gina to glance over her shoulder. A man and a woman were watching in muted terror as the two mutants, the two monsters played with the small child. They must have been the parents. The father was on his phone in a flash and looked livid, and the mother seemed aghast.
Gina looked to Aleksandr for some guideance, and saw that he was beaming as she simply said, "Parents do not like me so much."
"I'll say," Gina commented uneasily, laughing hollowly. The easiest solution would have been to take the child back over to his parents, but with how frightened the mother seemed and how furious the father looked, Gina was hesitant to approach them. The child propped itself up on Gina's knee for support, and grabbing for her miniscule horns. When noticing that one of those was out of reach, he opted for her tail, plopping down on the ground and closing her slender tail in his fist.
"What do you propose we do?" she inquired, maneuvering herself closer to Aleksandr and around the child, so that she could keep an eye on the frantic parents. Either way, the cops were going to get called on them, even if they returned the child anticlimactically.

Aleksandr chuckled again at the child's antics. Kids were always so fascinated by mutants with visible oddities, and having five siblings the snake man had spent plenty of time with kids and how they reacted to his kind of abilities once they'd manifested. Of course they were all older than this particular child, but that didn't matter all that much in his mind. Kids were kids.
Looking away from the distraught couple and back to Gina and their new playmate, he gave a small shrug. "First thing is first," she started, sitting up and prodding carefully at the child's ribs in order to incite a small giggling fit and make him release her tail with his wriggling, "Child must be returned."
Once the gargoyle girl's lovely tail had been released, the snake man easily lifted the child and turned him around to face his parents before setting him back down again. The kid of course thought this was all great fun and his squealing laughter kicked up again throughout the process. Lowering his face to about shoulder height for the child, he pointed toward the couple, making sure she kid followed with his gaze. "Go to see mama and deda," he prompted, smiling and giving a little wave to the parents as the child squealed delightedly once more and quickly toddled toward them, most likely to relate his daring tale to them in a language they couldn't entirely understand.
Making a show of reclining once more, he watched the mother bolt for her child once he'd reached a safe enough distance. Daddy was busy trying to relocate his pocket so he could shove his phone back into it while at the same time following after his wife. He was also putting on a bit of a show. Big man watching over his family. Some protector. Couldn't even approach a pair of mutants to reclaim his own kid.
Aleksandr cocked his head to one side curiously, able to catch the echo of a siren some distance off. Somewhat impressive that the police still rushed to crime scenes, particularly after some stories of rampaging mutant the snake man had read in a few papers. Perhaps the mention of a snake instead of that bow-wearing terror of a mutant that was in so many papers was what made all the difference.
"Is still time to make getaway. But will not be hard to track mutants like us. You might be having to fly after all," he commented, grinning once again and giving another little wink. He wasn't so worried about it himself. He liked the attention, and most of the time it was too much of a hassle for the police to find a transport big enough to haul his bulk anywhere for them to bother. Plus, he hadn't done anything wrong.
"Park is big enough to hide mutants. We maybe can play game of hide and go seek."
