The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Oh man, you need to get into it. He's the best. Basically, he's this crazy immortal dude with a messed up face who gives no ***** about what anyone thinks. There's even a comic where he marries death! Oh, and his movie is awesome." Bailey talked as he browsed through the store. There was so much awesome stuff to look through that he hardly knew where to start!
"Right. 'Cause my dad works for yours. Duh," he hit his head with his palm again, realizing that he hadn't been paying close enough attention to the conversation. That wasn't something that was particularly unusual, though.
He pulled a few trinkets and shirts off the shelf and loaded them into his arms. He would have spent longer looking if he was on his own, but he didn't want to make Emily feel uncomfortable, especially since she clearly wasn't very nerdy. Maybe he would skip the video game store if she wasn't interested in that either.
"Alright, I just need to pay for these things. Anything you want to look at before we move on?"

“Perfect,” Bailey trotted forward toward the store, expecting that his companion would follow. The store wasn’t too far away, so he arrived within a few seconds. As soon as he entered, he realized that he had been right. There was an entire wall full of Diedpool merchandise.
“Sick,” the teen grinned. “Do you like Diedpool? My brothers and I love him. I’m going to get a few of them some stuff for Christmas.” He moved over to the wall and began to pick through shirts and trinkets that he thought his siblings might like.
“You know, it’s kinda funny that you ended up here because of your parents splitting. That’s how I ended up here too. For mine it was because of work. Was it like that for yours too?” Immediately after asking the last question, Bailey put a hand to his head. “Sorry, that was rude, wasn’t it? You don’t have to answer that.”

"That's super cool. I've never been to England, but I've seen pictures. Loads of pictures. My mom sometimes talks about moving there to see if there are any better acting opportunities. Did you like it there? Why'd you move? Is it really as rainy as everyone says?" Bailey spouted off a list of comments and questions that only sort of pertained to the topic. He didn't notice that he had just rambled again, so he simply moved on to the next topic.
"Hmm..." he considered the question of where to go next. There were lots of places in the mall, most of which he had never been to before. He had a semi-specific list of things to buy in his head, but he didn't really know where to get most of it.
Bailey spotted a store a little ways down with a poster of his and most of his brothers' favourite superhero: DiedPool. It looked like there would be merch in there. It was perfect.

Bailey had somehow ended up with a Jamba Juice in his hand. He wasn't exactly sure how it had happened, but one second he had been standing near the queue, and the next, he had been handed a drink. He tried to say that it wasn't his, but the worker had already moved on, so he shrugged and sipped the drink, enjoying the sweet drink while he waited.
He looked up from his phone and drink after a minute to see a very, very pretty girl approaching him. He blinked momentarily, realizing that she was not changing her trajectory. She was walking straight toward him. Maybe that was Emily?
"I am indeed," Bailey grinned his trademark grin at the mention of his own name. "I suppose that makes you Emily? I mean, of course it would. What other teenage girl would approach me in the middle of a crowded mall and know my name? Dumb question. Anyway, is that a British accent? That's really cool. My dad didn't say you were British."
He shut off his phone and slipped it away in his back pocket, leaving his round of candy crush uncompleted. With his non-juice-carrying hand, he gestured down from the foodcourt to where the shops began. "We're supposed to be shopping, yeah? Anywhere you want to go first?"

It seemed that the Shakespearean guild in Stratford and the Shakespearean guild in New York weren't quite as different as they seemed. They had been short on cash in Canada, so Bailey's parents had been forced to take on day jobs. When they moved, his dad had assumed that the bigger productions and bigger audiences would allow him and the three sons he had taken with him to live off of the modest salary. However, after his first few paycheques and the first couple months of rent, it had dawned on him that a day job would be a necessary evil.
So, he had taken a job at some dreary firm in Manhattan. He hated it, complaining about it constantly and skipping whenever he could, but Bailey had come to realize that he was luck to even have the job. With his resume, he had been surprised that they had even given it a second glance.
Somehow, even with his poor attendance and attitude, he had gotten to be on good standing with one of the high-ups. They had become even closer at the company Christmas party, and found out that they had kids around the same age. A few drinks and a large amount of scheming later, Bailey was shuffled off the next day to the nearest mall to see some girl he had never met.
He wasn't entirely sure what to expect. In fact, he wasn't even really sure what she looked like. All he knew was that her name was Emily, and she was supposed to meet him in front of the Jamba Juice in the crowded food court.
Bailey stood idly, playing Candy Crush on his phone and whistling Christmas tunes while he waited for her to show up.

"Okay, cool!" Bailey blinked at her in surprise. For some strange reason, he had been expecting her to turn him down. Maybe it was the way she wanted to leave so suddenly, or maybe it had something to do with his past experience with anything even remotely romantic.
Or, maybe it was just that he thought he totally blew things before with his quirks. She was certainly willing to put up with a lot, it seemed.
He reached over and shut off the console and then stood up, extending a hand to Elke. "Shall we?"
"Say... you ever shot a bow before? Next time I could bring along my bow and some arrows. We could have a good ole' fashion contest!"
"Uh... No, I haven't. I mean I have, technically, but only this one time at a summer camp where the bows were really crappy and I couldn't even hit the target," he admitted sheepishly. "So you'll probably win, but it sounds like fun!"

Bailey grinned as he attempted to crush Elke's character. Just because it was a date or whatever and he was supposed to be impressing her did not, under any circumstance mean that he was going to go easy on her.
He was having a swell time until her phone beeped and she reached for it. For a second, he was worried that it might be from a different guy or something, but then he remembered that it was her that was initially interested in him, so he had a good amount of hope that it wasn't the case.
However, his smile fell when he found out who it was really from. "Oh, okay," he nodded solemnly. He had been hoping that she would be able to stay longer, but it had been fun while it lasted.
Bailey took her phone and began to type in his number. He had to stop for a minute half-way through to remember what the digits were, but he eventually got something out that mostly resembled what it was supposed to look like. He just hoped that it was right.
"So... Should I, um, walk you home or something?" He didn't go on many dates, and he wasn't sure what the proper etiquette was, or even if there was proper etiquette in that case. "I mean, I don't have to if you don't want me to, and I'm definitely not just trying to pull anything weird, but I just thought you might like some company? Or would that make things weird? Or would your dad not like it?"
He bit his lip to shut himself up as he looked at her for a response.

"Amazed I am!" Bailey grinned at the tiny pink hair woman that Elke had made. It didn't look like she would be able to take on a very big character, but then again, she was probably packing something in those pig tails. Plus, it was a video game, where logic and physics were thrown to the wind.
He pressed a few buttons and got himself to the character creation screen, where he started on his own masterpiece.
Bailey went through and chose the second last option in all of the categories, and ended up with a lumbering man with the biggest nose and the tiniest hips known to man. All in all, it was not a pretty sight. He titled his creation 'Benji', after his wonderful brother.
He eyed the door and leaned over to Elke, whispering in her ear. "If he comes in here, let me know. He'll pummel me if he sees this."
"Alright, you ready to start?" He grinned and resumed a normal volume.

"Well alright then," Bailey shrugged at Elke as she joined him on the floor. It was a bit of a weird move, considering the floor was so much less comfortable than the chair. "But the chair is a lot more comfy than the floor. Do you not like to be comfy or something? Or do you have like a tailbone injury, or..."
Bailey blinked for a minute as the cogs in his brain turned very, very slowly. She wanted to sit with him. "Oh..." He trailed off and fell silent as he blushed a deep red.
His eyes lit up as she selected a particularly poorly made wrestling game from the stack. That one was perfect, especially if she didn't really like video games. It was a good one for both the experienced and the inexperienced.
He grabbed the case and removed the little disk as his system booted up. He then placed it in the system and selected his avatar with the username SockGamer99. The game load screen appeared and he handed Elke a controller. "Pick a character, any character!" Bailey yelled enthusiastically and shot a hand in the air like a carnival worker.

"Well..." Bailey trailed off. He hadn't considered the fact that he could negate Aura's powers. But she could still throw things at him!
Or could she? He hadn't actually tested that, and he didn't know if that was even part of her power set. There was probably still some way that she could hurt him though! Girl was bonkers!
He bit his lip. If he tried to explain who Aura was, then he probably wouldn't do her justice. He needed the help of the internet and all its crazy conspiracy theorists. He pulled out his phone from his back pocket and made his way onto the Sanc wifi. Then, he dove deep into the dark corners of the internet and brought up one of the pages that he had initially read about the famous mutant. "Here." Bailey held out his phone for Istrid to read, displaying a page about how Aura had made furniture from bones, as well as details about her many escapades in the public eye.

Bailey opened the door to his room and ushered Elke in. It wasn't exactly clean, but it was at least a little bit better than the rest of the apartment. There was a bunk bed against the wall; the top was his, and the bottom was Brian's. The walls were lined with movie and video game posters, and his dresser had a few pictures of him and his family, as well as his band at his old school.
He sat down in a beanbag chair and nodded to an old television that was hooked up to endless chords. "Here we go," he grinned and turned everything on one by one.
Bailey glanced at Elke and chewed on his lip. "Oh..." There were no more chairs in his room. "Uhm, here." He rolled off of the chair and landed with a thump on the floor next to it. He gave a dramatic gesture to it and boomed, "after you."
The tv booted up and displayed the x-box symbol with a fuzzy picture. He reached forward and grabbed a stack of games from the shelf nearby and handed them to Elke. "Anything look interesting?"

The guy... Didn't want ice cream?
Who didn't want ice cream?
Did he want ice cream?
What if he only though he wanted ice cream?
Bailey's whole life was a lie!
A brief look of panic flashed in his eyes before he settled. Of course he wanted ice cream. He always wanted ice cream. It was strange that the other guy didn't want ice cream.
Maybe he was lacto-whatever intolerant or something? Or maybe he just didn't have any money for ice cream? The money problem would be easier to solve than the intolerance, so that was what he tried first.
"Well so if the right person is working today then we might just be able to get it for free. If not, then it's still only, like, a dollar a cone when I get it. You sure you don't want to get some? I have enough change for two cones."

"I am!" Bailey nodded excitedly. I was always awesome to meet another Canuck; especially one with such great taste in socks! "I'm from Stratford Ontario. Home of the Shakespeare enthusiasts. That's what my parents are. 'S why I moved here a few months ago, too. My dad got a job as a stage actor here, so a few of my brothers and I moved with him. Sorta miss home, but New York is cool too."
"Oh I love BC! It's so pretty!" Bailey's eyes grew wide and soft at the thought of Canadian sights. Talking like that made him miss it much more than usual. "You ever miss it there? I miss Tim Hortons a lot. No real good place to get cheap coffee here."
"Nice to meet you, Memo," he extended a hand for the man to shake. "Is your memory really that bad? Do you have like amnesia, or something? Or wait... No, Demensia? Or was it Alzheimers? I dunno, and you probably don't either, do you, if your memory's that bad."
He paused and looked down at the socks he was folding - one with cats and the other with take-out food containers. "Err- sorry, that was super rude, wasn't it?"

"That's Aura," Bailey hissed to Istrid, as if that would explain all of his actions. He stuck out an arm towards the woman who had just sat down not too far away.
He watched her intently from his perch under the table and tried not to let himself be noticed by the woman. There was a man approaching her that he had never seen before, but he hoped that he knew what he was getting into.
Jax turned around and studied the woman being referred to. "Wow," he raised an eyebrow. It was clear that the name did hold some connotation to him. "It looks like she's being civil." "For now," Bailey hiss-whispered. "But a few minutes from now she could be killing all of us and making our bones into furniture!"
"Oh my god, you're a mental case," Jax leaned back in his chair and shook his head at Bailey.

"Want me to punch im'?"
"No," Bailey shook his head and cringed at the nickname that his brothers had so kindly bestowed upon him. When there had been five of the boys, there had been a specific order in the household. However, when they had been separated, things changed. Their mom was no longer there to keep them all from fighting, and the oldest brother couldn't look out for the younger ones.
So, Benji had taken to picking on both Bailey and Brian, who could be heard in the other room talking on the phone. Bailey rolled his eyes at his older brother and gave him a pointed look. "She's not my girlfriend, doofus. Aren't you supposed to be at work right now?" Bailey crossed his arms and stared at his brother.
Benji stood up, showing off his full height of 6'3. "It's my day off. Aren't you supposed to go be disappointing somewhere else?" He took the final bite of his sandwich and then walked over to the sink, where he piled his plate onto the overflowing mountain of dishes. "Nice to meet you, Bailey-boo's not-girlfriend."
Benji extended a hand to Elke and grinned at her. Bailey glared at his hand and stepped forward down the hallway. "The x-box is in here," Bailey mumbled and gestured for Elke to follow him.
"Don't go making any little electronic babies!" Benji called after him and made some mature kissing noises.
