The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"That all of it? Very well get in."
Alex shrugged at the question and go into the car. Sooner or later Hades would find out he had been, up until recently, homeless for a very long time. He didn't have much to take with him. The car was nice though and Hades' outfit was interesting. It was strange seeing the usually bald man with a wig. Perhaps that's why he asked him to dress nice, a disguise. He kind of wished he had said that out right.
At the stop he frowned at the men knocking at the windows. They were dressed almost stereotypically homeless, dirty clothes and cardboard signs. But the whole scene was off. Mostly because usually, despite being fairly friendly folks, they rarely worked together, they wore cleaner clothes when asking for money, and they definitely didn't knock on peoples windows. He knew because he had been in that situation. "Alex, I need you to follow my instructions to the letter, do you understand? In the seat pocket in front of you you will find a newspaper. Pull it out and pretend to start reading so it covers your face. I am going to start describing a character, I need you to pretend to be that character, I need you to act a part, can you do that for me?"
He didn't hesitate to grab the newspaper and open it to cover his face. "Sure, what's the character?" He could feel his heart pounding in his chest, the nervous ache in his body. He did his best to remain still and outwardly calm. Hades knew there was something up too but probably knew more than him from the serious tone in his voice.

He listened intently to the story, feeling sympathy for the situation that Richard had gotten stuck in before the power discovery. He had on more than one occasion gotten stuck out in bad weather numerous times. It wasn't pleasant and he could see why it was the pushing force behind Richard self discovery.
"When did you discover your power? May I ask how did you discover your power? What do you mean constructs? Can you essentially craft and design a creature out of your imagination? Or does it have to follow various rules?"
This guy certainly had a lot of questions. "Um, well I was around ten when I first found out. I came across some road kill and it just...happened on instinct. Not on purpose. I felt bad for the critter and I guess I wanted to help it. The result was awful." He thought for a moment, "Constructs as in I make them and they're linked to me. I can see, hear and feel everything they do. I can create custom creatures but they do have to follow physics and certain structure rules. Oh and I have to eat enough for the both of us or I risk passing out."

“Eighteen, and I don't look like this by choice. So, if you have any rude remarks, urges to laugh, or inappropriate questions, please get them out of yo system ASAP.”
"Wouldn't dream of making your life any more difficult." He found it strange that Clyde didn't take any interest in the fact that he mentioned another age shifter. In his experience that was the first thing people tended to gravitate toward. Then again maybe this whole 'don't make fun of me' attitude was a bit more important to Clyde. He wouldn't blame the guy either. He was sure such a power was ripe for bullying, unfortunately.

After being dropped off, Alex jogged over to the mansion, inside, and up to his room. He grabbed his backpack and stuffed his worldly possessions into it. Not that he had much to begin with. It was only just now that he realized just how easily his things fit inside the backpack. He might have gotten a few new pieces of clothing, but it all fit. And he definitely didn't have anything smart to dress into like Hades suggested.
He left a note to Miss T and Gawain, saying that he was going to be gone for a while but that he was okay and safe and not to worry. Not to worry...These were the first adults he's had in his life in a really long time and here he was running away again. But he promised himself this would be the last time. This would be the last time he got scared away. He'd come back and everything would be okay.
Everything packed and with a note left behind, he quickly left the mansion before anyone could questions him. He was about two minuets late but no big deal.

Alex generally did as he was told, cleaning the booths and staying out of the way. The slow crowd made it an easy enough job and he had to wonder if Randy was going to keep him all night or just for a few hours. Still, it took his mind off why he was exactly here. That is up until he spotted the small group at the front door.
Ducking into one of the booths where the high back seats could hide him, he immediately tried to think of an escape plan. But it wasn't like this place had a back door. He could try to go through the office or wait until the front door was clear, or, if he was lucky, make his way through the bar. God why did they have to show up here of all places.
In front the three guys showed their I.D.s. The drivers licenses looked legitimate enough and the boys themselves didn't appear nervous. All around equally annoyed. One of them had a visible mutation, so it wouldn't be a stretch to say that all three were mutants. "That good enough?" one of the older guys asked, clearly miffed by the wait.

“Well, they haven't kicked Birdbrain out yet, so I suppose as long as you don't do worse than him, yo good.”
"I hope so." He wondered how Clyde would treat him if knew about his past, what he's done to survive this far. He tried to push those thoughts back, focus on what was in front of him. No point in letting pull this conversation in a negative direction. "Anyway, if you don't mind me asking, how old are you anyway? 'Cause I've met an age shifter before and he was practically ancient."
Now that he thought about it, he wondering how the old man was doing. He should hate the guy but time and distance softened the abandonment. That first group he fell in with couldn't be blamed for moving on. It was in their natures. He tried to keep from frowning at the thought of them, pushing the old memories back once more.

Alex laughed and nodded. Though, that wasn't his meaning, Clyde did bring up a good point. Just where in the world this place got it's funding was beyond him. Perhaps a few of the students had family that actually payed for the school to take care of them. He knew he was here basically on scholarship and from what he guessed, plenty of other students were too.
Still perhaps he should make clear what he was talking about. "Heh, true. But, I was kind talking about myself. I kind of have bad luck when it comes to finding places to live. Or at least making those places work for a long period of time." An understatement considering his past and just how much trouble he seemed to attract.

"I seem to be able to manipulate various inorganic, not sure exactly which ones yet, still experimenting. How about you?"
He thought about it for a moment, finding the right words to explain it. He's done this a million times but it never gets any easier. "Essentially, I can create constructs or living animals out of dead organic material. Mary is one of them." One of these days he'd have card explaining it so he wouldn't have to.
"How long ago did you figure out you were a mutant?"he asked. From the sound of it, not too long ago. Which was odd, since most mutants gained their powers early on. He was ten we he got his and from what people have told him around puberty was the most common. Richard definitely didn't look like a teen to him.

As Hades went through the layout of what they were going to do Alex nodded. He understood that full cooperation meant his survival. That keeping this place secret was equally so. He had a feeling that he was stepping in to dangerous territory with this. But being trained to fight, rather than scrapping by was better in the long run. And if things went south...Well, he had learned enough from surviving this long to get out of bad situations.
"How does that sound?"
"It sounds fine...I just...Would it be possible for you to take me home real quick to grab a few things and maybe leave a note so people don't freak out? I'm kind of rooming at this mutant school, safe haven, thing and I think it'd only be fair for them to be aware that I'm at least safe. They did help me a lot." More than they should have to be honest. It seemed like he was a magnet for trouble and he'd rather not bring it to good people's doorstep.

”What ya gonna do eh? Start a brawl?”
His world tunneled in on the person before him, no animal! To him Carrick looked like the numerous animals he run across in his time traveling. He had fought to survive before, Carrick was another obstacle to that end. All he could distinguish in this moment was the constructs crowding forward in his head, feel their animal rage pumping in his veins. His own teeth bared in a snarl, eye dilating to pinpricks. His body moved with out thought of consequence, only looking to connect fist with flesh.

Mary's lips twitched a fraction of the way away from snarling at the man her head was resting on. Alex tried to share the calm he was feeling as he listened the man puzzle things out. This wouldn't be the first time they've been discovered, it wasn't such a bad thing.
But he knew deep down this was just part of how she was. No matter how much she may ignore him or taunt him, at her base she had been made to protect him. If she perceived Richard to be a threat and Alex lost control of her... Well a violent, protective creature of it's leash would be liable to bite. "Wait, are you a mutant as well?"
"Yeah, I am. I'm guessing from your wording, you are too." That was a good thing at least. Better a fellow mutant than a human or a mutant hater or any number of things. He could feel Mary calm just a bit, she was still alert, still stiff and ready for a fight but she was relaxing ever so slowly.

"What do you like about biology?"
"Hmm, well I...I'm not really sure. It's just something that comes naturally to me."he said with a shrug. But tried to give it more thought. It wasn't something he actually thought about. Learning biology, anatomy, how living organisms worked, it was automatic for him. Probably since he's been doing it for, forever, or at least since he got his mutation. It's quite the influencing power on his mind. He couldn't think of anything else he'd rather be doing.
But all this thought process was stopped dead in it's tracks when Richard ask one simple question.
"Mary was designed wasn't she?"
He stared at him wide-eyed, as if suddenly caught in a lie, and Mary stiffened, ear perked at attention. "You could say that..." The teen murmured, trying to keep calm while Mary's own mind suddenly turned defensive. Oh no, oh god, please don't let him loose control of her.

"The question is how much do you want to learn, and most importantly, why?"
He looked mildly surprised at the returned question. He really hadn't thought deeper on the why and the how of it all. Everything returned to rather basic instincts of survival. He looked down at the cup of tea set out in front of him, contemplating what would be the best answer. It seemed like this guy liked to get all the information he could before proceeding, so it would be best to fit that mind set.
"As much as I can, everything if that's even possible. I just don't want to play the victim any more. Like right now, every instinct in me is telling me to run away. But I've been running for so long...I'm tired of it. I finally found a place to call home and I don't want that to be ruined again."
It was the best explanation he could come up with. However, it still felt flat on his lips. It wasn't all that deep, it wasn't all that important. He was still trying to wrap his mind around the idea that this guy was helping him with no ulterior motive. There had to be a catch in all of this and he just wasn't seeing it.

"Alex, Stop!"
Hades' words were enough to jolt him back into reality. At least enough to sit down again, all the while his constructs growling and snarling, trying to shove him into running again. He did his best to ignore them and focus on the man in front of him. The new information smoothed over his worries, but it didn't make it any less frightening to know that he was on a hit list. They wanted to make an example out of him, a sacrifice for their cause. "It is not the end of the world Alex, with your current skills, the advice I gave you, surviving should not be that difficult. Keep calm, don't panic and think strategically."
The teen took a breath and tried to think of a way out. But the only thing that came to mind, as it always did when things went south, was run away, hide, disappear. Out of sight, out of mind. However, he was tired of running, tired of scrapping by, he didn't want to be afraid. And the answer was sitting right in front of him.
"...Could you help me? I mean, teach me how to fight like you or at least...give me a place to lie low for a little bit."
It was the only thing that he could think of. He needed training at least, safer shelter than a school for mutants could provide, or at least safer in the sense that this place seemed a bit more secretive. If this hate group was looking to put a hit out on him, the first place they'd look are places actively housing mutants.

He listened to Hades commentary on how he could have used his powers and he had to wonder why he hadn't thought of any of that. Probably because panic had gotten the better of him. They caught him unaware and his only option had been to run for it, hope they lost interest. That had always been the first option he went to. Run, don't look back and find a place they couldn't get to.
However what the man said next made his blood run cold.
"I saw one of the members filming the scene with his iPhone. He was just a groupie and ran away when your creepy crawlies started coming out. I lifted a drivers license off one of your attackers, he belongs to the local chapter of a mutant hate group. Guess who is within the top ten of their hit list?"
He stared at the blurry picture of himself, just as terrified as he felt right now. They had his face. On a website no less, thousands of people could see this, recognize him or even people who looked like him on the street. He had finally found a place to settle and it was ruined...again.
"But why?!" It was the first words that came spilling out of his mouth. "I didn't do anything wrong! I-I wasn't bothering any body!" He stood up suddenly, panic filling him, the need for escape. "And, and why so high up?! I didn't do anything! I didn't-!" He couldn't breath, he needed to get out, leave. The constructs were roaring in his ear and all he could do was hold his head, eyes closed, try to quiet them so he could think, he needed to think.
