The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Charlotte exhaled another small cloud of smoke, her head buzzing from the nicotine. "I always feel like burgers!" she exclaimed, the cigarette dangling loosely between her lips. She removed it and chucked it out of the window, turning to face the redhead.
"I don't really feel like changing, so I'm ready when you are, cutestuff." she decided, giving him a wink as she crossed the room to bite his bottom lip. With a smile, she sauntered down the hallway and slipped into her shoes, grabbing her purse from the rack on the wall.
The blonde turned and gazed down the hallway at Ty, waiting for him to make a move.
Charlotte felt her muscles relaxed. She hadn't even realized she was tensed up, but approaching a stranger in a twisted world was unsettling, and she needed to be on her toes. "Well I'm glad I'm not the only one that's confused." she responded, a nervous chuckle somehow finding its way out of her mouth. Her icy blue eyes scanned the girl's outfit, and then glanced down at her own. "Nice outfit." she added, flashing a friendly smile.
The blonde took a few steps closer to the girl, to get a better look at her. She couldn't be more than a year or two younger than her. "I'm Charlotte, by the way." She rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet, the cape swaying slowly behind her.
"I thought this was a dream, but I'm not so sure anymore..." she stated, her voice trailed off as her brow furrowed. She needed to figure out what was going on. She took a deep breath, trying to sort her thoughts, and the floral scent of the sparkling purple water filled her nose. Charlotte sneezed and shook her head, glancing over at the lake.
"How did you get here?" she queried, turning her attention back to the girl. "I fell through a mirror..or got pulled. I think." She still wasn't sure. The throbbing in her head had almost completely subsided, but it flared up whenever she thought about how she ended up in this twisted world.
A smirk formed on Charlotte's lips as she saw color rise to her guest's face. Standing with him, she planted a kiss on his cheek. "Doctor, I think you might be blushing." she teased, squeezing his arm lightly. "And of course. A shower sounds great. There should be some towels under the bathroom sink." She stepped to the side so Daniel could get through.
"The water gets hot really fast." the blonde warned as she walked into the kitchen to refill her coffee cup. She loved hot showers. Scalding, turn-your-skin-bright-red showers. The water was no problem for her, but past guests have been caught off guard by the temperature.
"I'm not sweet." she murmured, heat rising to her face and turning a faint red. The blonde gazed across the room at the clock, blinking a few times until everything came into focus and her face had returned to it's normal color. "7:27." Charlotte responded, glancing over at the redhead.
"I think it may be time for dinner." she suggested. As if on cue, her stomach emitted a low grumble, and the watermancer flashed Ty a sheepish smile. She stood and stretched, the numbing feeling in her leg slowly subsiding.
Wandering over to the cracked window by the fire escape, fishing a cigarette out of her pack and poking her head out of the window. She lit it and let the smoke roll out of her mouth before getting taken away by the light breeze.
Charlotte shook her head in the darkness. "Of course it's not a dream." she responded, reaching out to caress his cheek with her hand. Eventually, she found it.
A shiver ran down her spine as she heard some part of his body crack, and she retracted her hand. She hated when peoples joins popped and made noises like that. The blonde sat up and raised her arms above her had, arching her back. "Mmmm. God that was a good nap." she stated, running her hands through her hair. It was tangled, and she smoothed it as best she could before turning on the lamp by the couch.
The light filled the room, and Charlotte squinted, turning to face Ty. "That was a bad idea." she muttered, faint spots flooding her field of vision every time she blinked. "How'd you sleep?" she queried, leaning over to place a kiss on his neck.
Charlotte's eyes fluttered open, squinting to peer through the darkness. She couldn't find the clock through the veil of black, but she could feel Ty's warm skin against hers. "Mmm." the blonde mumbled, throwing the blanket off her. Her mouth was dry, and there was a faint pounding in her head.
She yawned and shifted slowly into an upright position. "Ty?" she whispered, leaning in the direction of his outline. "Are you awake?" She placed a small kiss on his cheek, hoping to wake him from his slumber if he wasn't already up.
"We could cuddle and drink milkshakes." Charlotte suggested, lightly squeezing his leg. A shiver ran down her spine as Ty rubbed her back. "That feels nice."
She could feel herself drifting more and more toward the dreamworld. She could no longer keep her eyes open, and it was taking all her energy to stay focused and coherent. "I'm glad I jumped in the car..." she murmured, letting out a sigh. And after that, silence. The blonde had lost the battle, and she slipped into sleep.
Charlotte brought her knees closer to her chest. "Burgers." she mumbled as she tried to stifle a yawn. "We could get burgers or something for dinner. I feel like a nice big burger is what we need after today."
The blonde could feel her breathing slow down, and there was a sudden heaviness pushing down on her eyelids. But she wasn't quite ready for sleep. She wanted to keep talking. She felt so comfortable and...safe around Ty, even if they had dabbled in some thievery earlier.
She licked her lips and reached behind them for a small blanket. She could still taste the bourbon from the redhead's kisses as she slung the blanket over them. "Much better." Charlotte pulled the blanket up to her chin, her head in the crook of Ty's neck and her fingers laced with his. Oh yes, she could get used to laying like this.
Charlotte smiled and nudged Daniel lightly with her shoulder. "If my liver does fail, at least I have a handsome doctor." she responded. Who wouldn't want an attractive doctor performing surgery on them?
Her attention turned back to the television, the chef on tv putting the final touches on his meal. The blonde heard a faint rumble from her stomach, and her face flushed. "I'm really hungry." she murmured, shooting her visitor a side glance.
She closed her eyes and mentally went through her pantry. There was nothing as far as she could remember that would make an adequate breakfast. If she wanted food, she'd have to deal with the outside world, something she had been hoping to avoid.
"Maybe it could be extended to longer than a week. If you're on your best behavior." Charlotte added quietly, the last piece of her cornbread finding its way into her mouth. It was safe to say that she was full, if not stuffed. There was no way she'd have any room for dessert. At least, not of the peach cobbler variety.
A manicured hand shot into the air to swat the straw paper away, but her aim was horrible, and the small ball hit her cheek. With a frown and a "Hmph", the blonde dipped her fingers into her nearly empty glass and retrieved a small ice cube, tossing it lightly at Johnny's chest. Two could play at that game.
She liked how playful Johnny was. He was a free spirit, and she needed someone like that in her life. The firemancer was as flirty as she was, if not more, and that was a nice change. Although, he was a little cocky. Okay, a lot cocky. There would be plenty of times for her to bring him down a notch or two.
Throw herself at him? Did he honestly think she wouldn't be able to restrain herself? Obviously it would be an internal struggle, but she wouldn't let him know that. "There won't be any need for bouncers. I think you're going to be the one that may need to use some restraint." she taunted, flashing a smile afterwards.
Charlotte's gaze drifted to the wild candle as Johnny thought about what she said. His response was calm and collected, unlike the flickering candle. "You aren't very good at hiding things, Johnny boy." she thought to herself, allowing her blue eyes to find their way back to his face.
"I mean, you don't have to come if you don't want to." the blonde said, a hint of sadness in her voice. "I'll just sit at home by myself..in my lingerie..with no one to show it off for.." She let her gaze drop to the table and sighed, her bottom lip starting to pucker slightly. Charlotte was the queen of pouting, and her date could probably take a page or two from her book.
"Mmm, I dunno." she murmured, smiling at the kisses he placed. Charlotte sighed and stretched out on the couch a little, her legs dangling off the side of the cushion. "We could nap, and then go get dinner or something?" she suggested, bring his hand up to her lips to kiss each finger.
She was beyond content. The blonde wasn't used to being this close to someone; it was nice. Charlotte happily sighed and nuzzled more onto Ty's shoulder. "Who knew a person could be so comfy?" she whispered, squeezing his hand lightly.
Charlotte let out a small chuckle and grabbed Ty's hand, leading him into the living room. Plopping on the couch, the blonde brought her knees to her chest and rested her head there. "Come sit." she mumbled, patting the space next to her as she closed her eyes. She was pass the point of feeling the alcohol, and the need for sleep took over.
She waited for him to sit, and switched to resting her head on his shoulder, planting a light kiss on his neck as a small black ball of fluff curled up in her lap. "I'm exhausted." she stated, to no one in particular, as she began scratching the top of the kitten's head.
"It's been a very eventful day. And it's not even dinner time." she added, opening her eyes and gazing at the clock on the wall. Time went by when you were having fun with a cute boy. And alcohol surely helped
"Yeah, well you made me lick a window. So it was only fair." Charlotte retorted, poking him lightly in the side. She was hopeful that he'd make that little squeal noise again.
"Awh, Mischief is a cute name. I named mine Shadow. Original, right?" she joked, flashing him a smile. Stopping outside of a large brick building, the blonde entered a code onto a small pad on the wall, and pulled open the door when the pad flashed green. "I also have to warn you that my apartment is a bit messy."
She stopped at her door and fumbled for her keys. She had almost forgotten she'd been drinking. After a few tries, she found the right key and wiggled it into the lock. Letting the door swing open, she led Ty in and closed the door behind them, leaving them in the dimly lit hallway.
"Home sweet home." she breathed, glancing up at the redhead.
"I can't exactly explain best behavior. It's something you'll have to wait and see." she whispered, closing her eyes as she felt his lips brush against her skin.
She laced her fingers with his and led him out of the bar, locking the door behind them. She shuddered from the sudden drop in temperature. "When did it get so cold?" Charlotte frowned and closed the gap between her and the redhead, opting to wrap her arms around Ty's waist instead of holding his hand.
"I hope you aren't allergic to cats." she added quietly. That would put a damper on the entire night, him having a reaction to Shadow.
Charlotte nodded. Finding a place to sleep was their best option. "We could always go to my apartment." she suggested, flashing a smile. "It's not too far from here. And I promise I'll be on my best behavior." she added, lightly biting at the nape of his neck.
Whatever they decided to do, it would require going outside. Which would require clothes. The blonde let out a disgruntled sigh and pulled her shirt back over her head, smoothing out the small wrinkles that had formed.
She swallowed the last few swigs of her beer and collected all the bottles, tossing them into the nearest trashcan. She picked up Ty's tumbler and placed it in the sink on the other-side of the bar. She made a mental note to do the dishes next time she was there.
