The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Noveling continues! My goal is to have the novel finished and all the core edits done in time for the one year anniversary of me starting this puppy. Whether I succeed or not, I'll start posting again after that anniversary has passed. Until then: expect my stunning lack of posts to continue, on Calley, Rupert, and Slate. Apologies for any inconviniences this causes. Feel free to skip my turn on all multi-player threads I'm in.
The Colombia take-over will proceed as planned. Target start date is April 2nd.
This shouldn't affect my Modding as Historian.
Wish me luck! I've got until Sunday, March 29, 4:33 PM. And 29 seconds.

Katrina Dumonde
Illusionist
Unicorns appear in her sight The fireflies lead her trough these woods at night In search of the legendary amulet And it's secret In the big oak there is a door Which will lead her To the wizard shore And she'll ask him For the wind to sail her home To the world where she belongs In her world of dreams and make believe
HISTORY: Katrina discovered her mutation and was enrolled at the mansion just in time to cower under her bed as police and giant robots raided the school to round up mutants and haul them away to the Registration Act mandated concentration camps. Katrina was one of the lucky ones that escaped, and found shelter with the Resistance. She spent the winter learning about her new identity as a mutant and working her way into the hearts of members from all three factions.
The registration act was overturned, and Katrina went back to “normal” life at Xavier's Sister School, where she still has difficulties with math and amuses herself by exploring areas she probably shouldn't, which seems to be a safer pass time in the mansion than it was in the labs. Tigers are occasionally seen prowling near her room and young musicians have been known to carry her books from time to time. A lizard boy even slept in her bed once by accident. Sometimes she misses the friends she met during the Resistance, but they have a habit of turning up when she least expects it.
POWERS: Katrina is an illusionist. Her illusions cause other people's nerves to fire as if they were really seeing, hearing, or feeling the illusionary objects and images. She can effect any of the senses, but hasn't even come close to perfecting her abilities. She has gotten pretty good at turning completely invisible. I wonder why? For fewer details see her profile. For more details on where she is headed, scroll down to her future profile.

The novel monster continues to strike, in mass re-write form. (I forgot how relaxing re-writes are for me... Expect my posts to continue to be slow. I'm also not reading many threads outside of my own.

Many apologies about that, Drathe! We've been getting in a high volume of applications lately, and we're in the process of shuffling through the latest batch just now. Could you tell me what your character's name is? Then I can confirm that we did indeed receive your application.
I'm not sure it will be possible to find colors that work well with each and every one of MRO's skins. The colors above were all chosen with the default skin in mind, I believe (GreyAbstract). This is what new members will see as they browse the site. By all means, we can keep looking... but yeah. Might not be possible.
It's possible that folks who move to the non-default skin may just have to be mindful of how the colors show up on their skin.
Has anyone found a readability issue with one of the skins? Aka, how the old Kabal blue looked on the default black background--nearly impossible to read?

*hugs CS, Nika, and Leila*
Back from Hokkaido. Snow festival was great fun. Shall be catchin' up on my posts shortly, though today is a festival, so proooobably tomorrow for most of 'em.
I fear that in the Future Plot, Slate is an extreme goodie working with mutant refugees in China.
For the FP, feel free to go on any mission, and serve any side of the war--just say it was "Hunter's Orders". I probably won't be assigning FP missions, since I've got the Kabal to plan for in current time and Pax to plan for in the FP already. And a world war to run, as a Plot Mod. You guys can definitely give yourself missions, though! Have fun with it!
PS: The Kabal is fair game in the FP for a take-over, if anyone would like to go for it.
PPS: Thanks for the faith that I could pull it off in two timelines.

Welcome to this lovely MRO News PM. This is to make sure we're all on the same page about updates around the site. There have been some big ones since last month, as you've probably noticed.
New at MRO
We've moved to a queuing system for new character applications. This is to add in a buffer time between when people join, so that no member--new or old--starts to get that "lost in a flood" feeling. On a related note, we're on the first page of most Google searches you can think of for X-Men forums.
We've updated the rules for gaining second, third, etc characters. The post counts were originally meant to act as a time buffer; with the hyped up activity in recent months, they're not really serving their purpose anymore, so we've added in actual time buffers. The new rules:
* Second character: Wait until your first character has 300 posts and you've been active on MRO for at least four consecutive months before sending in an application for a second character. * Third character: First character to 1000, second character to 300 posts, and you've been active on MRO for at least nine consecutive months. * Fourth Character: First character to 1500, second to 500, third to 300, and you've been active on MRO for at least a year and a half consecutively. * Fifth Character: No one has ever made a fifth character.
Important Note: All members RPing at MRO as of January 2009 will be grandfathered in under the old rule for second characters; aka, you only have to reach the 300 posts, not the four months. So don't worry; this only affects your third characters, and all the new members coming in after you.
ZOMG I reached 100 posts I get a power growth! Busted. Check out our new ModMythBusters Guide to Power Growths; it's got answers to the questions we've heard you all asking.
The "Infirmary" board at the Mansion is now "Offices & Infirmary"; say hello to the new location of the teachers' offices and Cold Steel and Silver Streak's new digs! Feel free to point new members there to find the here-to-fore elusive Admissions office, as well.
General Reminders
Don't forget to advertise your open threads on the RP Request and Open Threads subboard, and look there for all your open threadin' needs!
Remember to get all power growths and changes to the mutations and history section of your profile approved. E-mail the growth and its weaknesses/limitations to <MutantRevolver@yahoo.com>.
Two words: server fires. Remember to back up your character profiles and favorite threads on your hard drives!
Looking to join up with a Faction?
X-Men: contact Cold Steel or Silver Streak for a try-out to become an official X-Trainee.
Order: contact Abyss, Isabel, or Syn; showing up at the nefarious Golden Doors works well too, I hear.
Kabal: PM Slate to stake a claim on your country of choice for benevolent dictatorship. Be the knife that cuts the rot out of this world.
Thanks for making this site awesome, everyone.
