If Chrys is going to enjoy the nightlife of New York, the ensemble is replaced with a belly shirt, a shorter skirt, and fishnet stockings in an attempt to lure new victims.
Uniform: Her father might be gone, but Chrys continues to wear professional work attire, which is now less about pleasing him and more about keeping up appearances.
Sleepwear: Nighties and slippers in varieties of soft, smooth, or fluffy
Miscellaneous clothing: A black choker often worn around the neck
CharacterPersonality: Chrys is a mentally unstable woman, but nowadays, she has become better at hiding this when necessary. Her privileged childhood made Chrys spoiled, with an aversion to responsibility and a disregard for consequences after a lifetime of getting away with everything. She wants things to go her way, and with her lack of a moral compass, it is dangerous to be an obstacle in her path.
As the public face of her father’s former company, Chrys has learned to play the role of a proper, professional businesswoman. She hates the job, but sees the benefits that come with resources and connections. Her immaturity should not be mistaken for ignorance; Chrys is clever when she is viewing the world as a game. She does not view most people as “players” of the game so much as “play things,” put in the game for her pleasure.
Chrys has learned to cover her tracks, and be careful. In her eyes, the other “players” of the game are the people with the authority or power to put a stop to her fun. She will play nice with the players who might benefit her, and avoid those who don’t play the game by her rules, (such as the police, the FBI, and the X-Men.)
As composed as she might seem, it is important to remember that the controlled façade is just that: a mask. The true Chrysanthemum takes pleasure in using others, and those she used are usually not left in good condition. Once upon a time, her games were just about physical pain, but she has widened her scope. Manipulation, mental, and emotional torture are all part of her game, and she can often become fixated on one “play thing,” seeing how they react to being toyed with.
Her need to be in control can be a major weakness. When a play thing causes problems, or her games do not play out the way she wants them to, her emotions can take drastic turns from simplistic joy to dangerous tantrums, devoid of rational thought, as her id steals the wheel completely from her ego.

Job or part time job and description: CEO of her late father’s company, a major importer and exporter of goods.
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: The fear that she will be returned to an institution, “Losing” her game
Special talents: Thanks to her father’s private enterprise, Chrys has an extremely refined palate for wine, and is respected as an expert of high-class wines.
MoralityGood/ bad/ neutral/ other: Bad. Very bad. A selfish sado-masochist who has no concept of compassion for the needs of others.
MutationsTactile Sensation Transference (Human Voodoo Doll)
Mutation description: If Chrys acquires a sample of her opponents DNA through taste (direct mouth-to-skin contact,) a connection is made between the two bodies. The connection results in specific shared sensations:
Somatosensory Responses: The sensations of touch and pressure are shared between the two people. If Chrys is poked in the shoulder, the person she bonded with would feel the sensation in his shoulder. Any amount of pressure that can cause bruising would also result in the popping of blood vessels and forming of bruises on the second person.
Nociception: The sensation of pain. Any pain senses triggered in one person’s body are recreated exactly in the second person. If one person’s skin or tissue is torn or cut, the second person’s skin and tissue would remain intact, but the pain receptors in the body would react as though they had been. If one person’s organ is pierced, the second person’s body will react as though his or her organ suffered the same injury.
Thermoception: The sensations of heat, absence of heat, being burned, and the effects that can be attributed to these sensations are shared.
One major sensation not shared by Chrys and her opponent would be the effects of any chemical. The effects and sensations of alcohol, medicines, and other substances are not shared.
The connection between the two people remains active until enough space is created between the two (twenty-five feet,) someone falls unconscious, or (of course) the two perish.
Strengths: Sharing pain changes the conditions of a fight drastically. Despite being frail, if she was punched by a much larger man, he would feel the same level of pain as if he were equally frail. Also, while having no immunity to pain, Chrys finds pleasure in the sensation of pain, making her more prepared to deal with the effects of her power. Most enemies become much more apprehensive about striking Chrys once they understand her ability.
Weaknesses: Finding pleasure in pain does not mean one does not feel pain, and at higher levels, pain will affect her just like anyone else. Sharing sensations also makes it difficult not to end up in a “draw;” if her opponent is knocked unconscious by a physical stimuli, Chrys will also suffer an unavoidable loss of consciousness. The only method for just one person to lose consciousness is to inflict a substance-based unconsciousness, as the effects of substances are not shared. Additionally, there is no method of fatally harming someone while under the effects of the bond which would not end poorly for the victor. The moment Chrys is rendered deceased while bonded, her opponent would suffer a day-long come and various bodily functions would not return to ideal working order for another week. If her opponent is the one killed under her influence, Chrys will suffer the same fate as her opponent, instantly dying. Even a deadly substance would trigger the bonded-death, as the final sensation of death itself is shared.
Secondary mutation description: Minor Accelerated Healing Rate
As a method of dealing with an inherent evolutionary trait that increases risk of injury, Chrys’s biological make-up also evolved to heal more efficiently to compensate.
Strengths: Chrys’s cuts and wounds heal at almost double the speed of an average person, so if a cut would take two days to heal for a normal person, it would be healed in one day for Chrys. This allows the marks and injuries inflicted by herself or others to fade away quickly.
Weaknesses and Limitations: The healing factor inherent in Chrys does not change in an emergency or improve in times of need. If Chrys has a serious, fatal injury, a healing speed at double-time is not going to save her from dying. If she is saved, the recovery time would be better, but none of that will matter if she does not make it to the recovery step. An accelerated healing rate is also not a “regenerative healing rate;” if Chrys loses a hand, her hand is gone. She cannot regrow or fix any injury the average human body cannot also fix.
The one way in which Chrys’s healing factor is unlike the average person’s healing is its indiscrimination of dermatological abnormalities: tattoos. Seeing a tattoo as a surface-level wound, Chrys’s body will “heal” over the tattoo. Likewise, any piercing left without an object through it will heal rather quickly, regardless of how long the piercing has existed.
Lastly, to aid the accelerated healing factor, Chrys’s metabolism is higher and she gets hungry quickly, due to her bodies need for more fuel and materials.
Physical AbilitiesGeneral Physical Capabilities: Chrys is relatively weak for a woman of her age and size. She quickly exerts herself after short periods of heavy lifting or strenuous activity. She is fit enough to play tennis, and has enough stamina for a match or two. She jogs for her health, but her top speed is average, and her stamina is only that of a woman who exercises once or twice a week.
Fighting Style: I’ll bite you… Really, if someone tries to attack Chrys, her first instinct will be to do whatever it takes to sneak a taste of her enemy and set her mutation in motion.
Pros for fighting style: If she succeeds in taking a bite of her opponent, they quickly discover that they cannot harm Chrys without receiving the pain in return. A realization of that nature makes it harder to want to fight, and the attacker will usually decide to escape, a decision that usually ends up with the attacker becoming a new victim for Chrys to play with.
Cons for fighting style: If Chrys does not succeed, she has no formal fight training and she is a rather frail young woman, so the fight will be quick and one-sided.
History Of Your Character(TW: Abuse, Suicide)Chrysanthemum was born to Cynthia Van Hart (who named her Chrysanthemum after her favorite flower) and Benjamin Van Hart (who gave her the middle name Reisling because it was “sweet and delicious.”) Benjamin was a very successful executive who, ten years after Chrys was born, achieved a political position in New York government. On multiple occasions, Benjamin’s business and political ethics were called into question by his opposition, but somehow these accusations never hindered his forward progress.
Chrys was pampered from birth, given any toy she demanded and never being scolded. Cynthia allowed nannies and staff to provide her daughter with care and attention, but despite her disinterested, hands-off approach, she was notorious for firing anyone who “treated Chrys badly.” (In truth, any time Chrys would complain about being scolded or disciplined, Cynthia just let go of the employee to keep her daughter from confronting her more.) Once this became apparent, employees would avoid presenting Chrys with any limits or consequences until they could not handle the job anymore and quit.
There were many rumors that swirled around regarding Benjamin’s relationship with his daughter, but as with everything in his life, these never amounted to more than whispers and everyone tried to remain oblivious. On occasion, someone would ask Chrys how she felt about her mother and she would reply, “Mommy loves me.” They would then ask the same question about her father and Chrys would seem dreamy and distant. “Daddy loves me the most.” It would be at that point that Chrys would demand ice cream or juice and the topic would be dropped.
Chrys was always paraded around in pretty dresses as a child to work the political angle of Benjamin as a family man. This continued until Chrys was twelve, when the media noted a considerable absence of the young girl from public functions that lasted for six months. Benjamin came out to the media to comment on the questions and concerns, sharing the news that his daughter was dealing with health issues and the family was supporting her and keeping her out of the stressful limelight for the time being. Despite the press conference being held in July, Benjamin stood sweating at the podium in a high-collared shirt, hiding fading bruise-marks around his neck.
The illness was another cover-up. Early in the year, Chrys’s mutation surfaced and was quickly discovered after several burn marks appeared on Benjamin. Angry and confused by the discovery of his daughter’s status as a mutant, Benjamin sent her to a very private, very confidential asylum to be assessed and monitored for the better part of a year.
When Chrys made her return to the public eye, on the surface it would appear that all was normal, but a trained eye would notice that there were no more photos with Benjamin making physical contact with his daughter. A year later, her parents gave birth to twins, Donald and Denise, and Chrys was sent off to an expensive boarding school upstate. After issues with “behavior in and out of class,” Chrys would be bounced through three more schools and two colleges. During her time at each school, the rates of accidents and hospitalizations usually doubled.
(As of 6/28/2017)With college over, Chrys came onto her father’s business in a position given to keep her busy and under control. Things were going well until there was an incident her father could not cover up. Chrys kept one of the members of the board for her “games,” hiding him away for her fun for over a week. Benjamin realized where the man was and demanded his release. Paying the man for his silence and his trauma was costly, and her father decided Chrysanthemum was officially too much of a risk to keep around.
Chrysanthemum was institutionalized for over two years. Most of the staff were content with avoiding her room, keeping her docile on medication, and keeping their noses clean of the messy situation that brought her in. Only one doctor, Archer Drake, eventually took to meeting with Chrys and working through the many issues she had. Over many sessions, Chrys was eventually able to come to terms with the cause of her problems: the very man who locked her away.
For some people, this would have been the first step to recovery, but Chrys had no desire to “recover.” She wanted her freedom; she wanted to be in control of her life, truly, for the first time; above all, she wanted retribution. It was a long process, but she was able to learn the role of the “reformed psychopath,” making great strides and a strong case for claims of rehabilitation. It was all surface level; she had the same urges she always had, but she knew before she could act on them, she had to earn her way back into society.
Her release was met with skepticism, and no one was more suspicious than her father. It took months of model behavior with no “incidents” for him to start bringing her back into the fold with the company. It was hard not to think she had recovered, considering she had never gone so long without creating trouble since high school. She was proving to be the perfect daughter and an actual asset in the board room.
Several months after Chrysanthemum’s return to form, Benjamin seemingly took his own life. Suspicion was cast, but no evidence connected his daughter to the death—at least, no recovered evidence. Investigations came and went, and Chrys inherited Benjamin’s shares in the company and took her place of power as the primary shareholder and CEO. She took her retribution, so it was time to return to her fun—smarter, more methodical fun.

every day, sometimes multiple times a day. This particular meeting involved her as the something-or-other of fine wine exports, as well as her father and an executive from another shipping company, the latter two devoting much more attention to the inter-company affairs. Chrys was there as a figurehead, contributing to the scenery of the room while her daddy handled the actual business.
Chrys twirled her hair around her finger, eyeing the executive, Brandon Something. (Chrys was yawning when he introduced himself.) The man was a tall, strong looking man with short brown hair and wonderfully clear skin. Chrys found herself zoning out with her gaze settled on his unmarred neck like a painter eyed a canvas: so full of possibilities.
Every now and then, Brandon would briefly look in Chrys’s direction. Chrys never knew why people were looking at her; it could either be because she was pretty according to the help at home, or it could be because she was apparently odd” according to the people who used to work as help at home. It was even more likely that both reasons were in play. Regardless of the reason, Chrys smiled at the man. Daddy told her to smile when people made eye contact with her because it was polite. Daddy was very big on the idea of his daughter being polite: “It is part of being proper and respectable,” he would say. Daddy said the same thing about “business attire,” which was why Chrys was stuck in her white blouse and uncomfortable pencil skirt.
”Ahem!”Chrys returned from her absent staring at the sound of her father’s throat clearing; it meant he was demanding her attention. That was what it always meant. In this case, he was forcing her to realize their meeting had finally reached its end and it was time to stand up.
Chrys got to her feet and Brandon approached her, shaking her hand. “…and I must say sir, your daughter is quite lovely.”
Benjamin’s features tightened, whereas his daughter’s lips curled into a mischievous smile.
”Oh daddy, can I please play with the nice man?”Brandon was taken aback by Chrys’s perceived forwardness, turning to look at her father. Benjamin’s face was flushed of color at his daughter’s words. The older man took quick steps to position himself between the two younger adults. He placed his hand on Chrys’s shoulder, gripping tightly. “S-sorry,” he said, turning to Brendan. “She… likes to joke. Have a good day, Mr. Dent.”
Chrys pouted as her father forced her out of the meeting room. Daddy never let her play anymore. It was not fair! But she loved her Daddy and did not want to make him more upset. She would just have to wait until she was out of work to play.
