The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Oh this was just SO much fun. She was actually angry that Penelope tried to keep this outing a secret from her. The whole time during the movie, Jezebel had been shoving and pushing to get out but damn that little girl and the willpower she was developing. She didn’t care for Penelope getting so willful against her. But she found a way out. She always did. Well, more like those little brats that brought Penelope to the movies in the first place did.
All it took was a bit of bullying. Penelope couldn’t stand bullying and Jezebel knew it would only be a matter of time before she managed to break down that barrier and hop out. She was eager for some fun, especially after watching such an awesome movie! How could she not be inspired to do some mayhem!?
But first…a human touched her. HER! That little brat Alma. She would make sure to teach her to ever do that again. But just as she started—
>> “Hey! Stop!!”
“Heehahahehaha,” Jezebel chuckled as she started to straighten up. She loosened her grip on Alma just enough to let the girl fall to the ground, gasping and crying and rubbing her neck as she coughed fitfully. Tilting her gaze down, she stared at the muscley looking man and just grinned wide. She loved it when it was time to make new playmates, but she hated it when they forced her toys to run off crying.
She sighed. She never gets to keep nice things anymore.
“Hey sweetie,” she beamed as she placed a thick hand on her hip and looked down at him. “You look like a big one.” She cackled as she watched another, more wiry man jog up towards them. Shaking her head she sighed. “Another one? Please,” she muttered as she turned to grip one of the movie chairs. With a grunt she ripped it out of its bolted spot. Idly she tossed it aside and grinned at all the terrified humans that were turning in their direction. “Why do you have to ruin my fun?” she cackled and leaned down to grab another of the terrified girls that had snuck into the movie with her.
“Penelope!” Alma whispered harshly. “Quite being such a scaredy cat and open your eyes!”
Penelope shook her head in response. She couldn’t. She couldn’t do it. She was already so scared by this movie that she was gripping onto the very arms of the chair. It felt almost like she was going to break her fingers as she tried to keep from opening her eyes. But it was the only distraction that she had. She couldn’t look at that screen anymore, she couldn’t see all those people die thanks to those horrible monsters on the screen. Even though she knew it was just a movie…it was too real.
Alma was getting annoyed with her and kept nudging her to open her eyes or getting her friend to jeer her that she was being a weenie. But Penelope didn’t care. She had to keep her eyes closed, she had to keep from getting anymore scared. It already felt like her heart wanted to beat out of her chest and that was a horrible feeling. Not only because of her health, but because whenever that has happened in the past, it was always followed up by someone far more worse than Penelope ever liked to think about. Jezebel.
“I…I got to go,” Penelope tried to plea. She started to move but Alma was fast enough to keep her grip on her arm. Penelope opened her eyes to look at her. “What are you doing?”
“Watch the movie!”
“NO!”
“If you don’t I’m telling everyone!”
“I don’t care! Let me go!” Penelope started to struggle, but it quickly proved to be in vain. As she tried to get up, Alma was holding onto her too tightly, and soon was of the other girls was hopping up to take Penelope’s other arm. She didn’t know what caused them to do this but it was quickly making the young girl panic. She didn’t care for this treatment at all. Who were they to hold her down? Who did they think they were?
”AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!”
Penelope opened her eyes as she looked at the screen without realizing what she was doing. Then…all she saw was red…
Chase tried to object to most of Penelope’s praises towards the school, but she really didn’t bother to listen to them. To be honest her mind was gone, whisked away into fantasies in which she lived here, that her mutation was accepted and that she didn’t harm anyone. To be honest, that couldn’t be too far from reality, could it? Jezebel liked mutants. If Penelope lived amongst mutants then that should keep her happy, right?
It seemed like the best train of thought. Why else would Jezebel suddenly quiet down whenever Penelope herself would talk to Chase? It seemed that even Jezebel knew she could ruin this chance to really be amongst her kind so she took the easy road of quiet and solitude.
Penelope couldn’t be more thankful for that.
She smiled and turned back to Chase, her tour-guide. She was ready to see more of this place.
>> “O-kay…I can show you classrooms, and the kitchen, and we could get a snack… then we could go outside.”
Her smile was a beaming smile.
“That sounds awesome! Lead the way!” she grinned. Quietly she waited for him to take the lead and followed after when he did. “So, um, you’re mom seems nice! She reminds me of my mom. Does your dad come here too?”
Jezebel was bored. She didn’t like being taken out of the action this much but really what else is there for her to do? Her orders were to wait with Mister Bug until the doors were opened for them. She was fairly certain she could have simply smashed them open (her confidence was just that high), but she was told to let Seyta handle it (whoever THAT was). So she had to amuse herself with other tasks.
Namely crushing the bones of a skeleton she found!! She didn’t know what the animal USED to be but it sure was fun taking the bones in the palm of her hand, crushing them into bonemeal, and then letting the scatter to the breeze. She was good at making up games.
Snap…Palm…Crush!
Snap…Palm…Crush!!
Snap…Palm…Crush!!!
WHIIIIIISTLE!!
She looked up when she heard a whistle cut through the air. That was supposed to be the other woman’s signal, right? As she dropped the last of the bones she crushing, she paused when she caught sight of several of Mr. Bug’s minions staring at her in awe. Their eyes drifted from the bones to Jezebel’s palms caked white from crushing things. She arched and brow as she stood to her full height and picked up her trident.
“Idiots.” she muttered as she turned and started to follow Roach back to the bunker.
The conversation was short, sweet, and to the mysterious point. She was not entirely sure why Roach was being so nice to the little debutante when they were just going to steal everything she had. But she was not going to argue. She was ready for some action. Leaning her trident against her shoulder, she smirked at the tiny young woman and followed them towards the opening.
>> “He moves fast…I hope we can catch him! Or, who knows, maybe we’ll run into someone else. There’s lots of people to see here.”
Penelope was giggling when she finally came to a stop next to the boy. She sighed as she looked down the halls. So far there was still no sign of the silvery man that they had been chasing but she was not going to let that discourage her. Even if they had decided to continue down a wrong hallway, there was just still so much more to explore. Therefore, NO path they picked could be wrong, right?
She sighed and smiled as she turned her attention back to her new friend. Just the idea of know that there was so many people here made her feel all the better. So many people, and all of them mutants too? It was just…almost too good to be true!
Taking a second to breathe, she smirked as she turned back to Chase. She was very glad that the pair of them had become friends.
>> “What do you mean, lucky?”
She tilted her head. What was he talking about? She thought for a moment and remembered that she did call him lucky for living in a mutant school. How could he NOT know he was lucky? Obviously she would have to let him know.
She paused, huffed a little as she blew some of her curls out from her face. Little hands on her hips, she tilted her gaze towards him.
“Because, you get to live with mutants! You get to be around people just like you!” she beamed happily as she gestured to the whole school. “People with all sorts of powers, abilities, and differences. People,” she shrugged, “who are just as different as you so don’t feel bad when your powers get a little…well…crazy.”
She darted her look away. It seems that in her time she had yet to tell him of her own abilities. She knew she couldn’t keep it a secret forever, but maybe just a little while longer? Penelope really and truly didn’t want to scare him off. Though a true friend would accept her whatever the case, she didn’t want to push it. Not yet.
She smiled as she turned to him.
“Come on! You said you’d show me the whole school,” she beamed.
>> "Nnnnngghh... She's a zooOOMMMBBbbiieee... Not a vaaaMMMP-UNGHF!"
Penelope grinned! She got the Zombie!Miles distracted long enough to turn his attention away from where Victoria was hiding. Her plan was going to succeed! She started to back away as Miles nearly broke his character was laughter…but instead she found herself watching with shock and surprise as he nearly broken his body against the sudden, near-pulverizing thanks to Victoria’s flying body.
The young blonde had knocked into Miles hard enough that he was completely knocked off his guard and was sent stumbling forward. Penelope couldn’t bear to watch as Miles hit himself…pretty hard…in a spot that didn’t look at all comfortable, at least the look on Mile’s face brought her to that conclusion.
Before she knew it, Miles was doubled over and talking like a chipmunk, yet trying to pass it off as him being absolutely unharmed.
>> "You win…I surrender. No more zombies"
She grinned. His voice was funny and though she wanted to make sure that he was okay, she was happy with the fact that they managed to defeat the powerful zombie. She moved back around and flopped into a chair that was across from him. Wow…he really did look hurt.
>> "How about we bring my dogs into the fun, huh? Even if they look scary, they're quite obedient. Do you like dogs, Penelope?"
Immediately she perked up. Dogs were even better than playing games!!!
“Yes! I love dogs!!” she grinned wide. “Do you have dogs? What kind of dogs? Big dogs? Little dogs? Do they slobber? What kind of food do you feed them? Victoria, do you like dogs? Do you have dogs?”
The questioning started. It would be hard for her to stop now.
>> “You’re right! There’s lots more places to hide in the mansion. We’ll win for sure!”
Penelope smirked. She liked her idea! Maybe she was actually getting smarter! She wouldn’t be surprised since she absolutely loved to play these types of games. She always did what she could to win because she was just that competitive. But, it was even better when she had a new friend nearby to help to cheer her on. Victoria was turning into an absolute pleasure and, though Penelope wasn’t sure what she could do, she had a feeling that the two of them could indeed be the best of friends.
The pair dashed into the mansion and immediately she tried to figure out where they could go from here. They needed to touch Miles head and Victoria did seem like the tallest and one that was far easier to get to Miles. Penelope herself could be a distraction.
>> “Oh, and thank you for the compliment Penelope.”
Penelope grinned.
“Of course!” She paused for a second in thought as a plan began to shape up. Miles would have to come in through the same doors that they did. Maybe they could sneak up on him! “Victoria!” she said excitedly as she turned to her. “Hide somewhere in here, okay? I’ll grab his attention and when he comes for me, you sneak out and touch his head! It’s simple!”
Dashing off to the side and not paying attention to where/if Victoria hid anywhere, Penelope crouched herself down behind a door. All she would have to do is bide her time until the Miles/Zombie decided to meander his way back into the mansi--
>> "Brainz?"
She froze up, smirking to herself, as she attempted to pull the door she was hiding behind closer to her. As she did so, she inadvertently knocked something off the door that landed on her head. She jumped but instantly relaxed when she saw it was nothing more than a hat that had fallen off of the hook. Quietly he attempted to stand and put it back on when she got an idea.
"Nnngh?"
She waited with bated breath before finally popping out behind a door…wearing a baseball cap that seemed far too large for her own head. Of course it was probably for one of the bigger, older staff members or students, but they wouldn’t mind if she borrowed it to fend off a killer zombie, right? Besides, there was nothing in the rules about NOT wearing protective headgear.
“Hey! Hey!!” she shouted and waved her arms, trying to get him to follow her. “Umm..ugh…YOUR MOMMA WAS IS A SPARKLY VAMPIRE!!” The worst of insults. That should get his attention…
Penelope grinned and lightly stuck her tongue out at him for his snarkiness. She knew that he was right though. She didn’t need to be so excited over absolutely any and everything that was around her. After all, this was a school for people exactly like her so why should she be surprised when she actually saw a mutant with a really cool power? Maybe it was because it was so rare these days to actually meet a mutant face-to-face without worrying about people turning on them.
Whatever the case, Penelope WAS excited and people were just going to have to deal with that. She grinned wide as she turned back to face Chase.
“You…are so lucky,” she beamed.
>> “You probably saw Shawn, the security guy…Wanna see if we can catch up with him? Come on! “Can’t catch me!”
Penelope blinked is surprise as suddenly her young friend bolted off ahead of her. Shaken from her startled state, the young girl laughed loudly as she began to chase after…well…Chase!
