The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Cas was done talking to the dog. Not only was she irritated that it kept following her but now it had the unmitigated gall to ignore a freely offered taco! Did that fleabag know what she had to do to get that taco? The things that she promised? The vile, depraved sins she said she would commit just for a free plate? She wasn’t going to do any of them but still! It was sacrilege to let a perfectly good and greasy carne asada taco go to waste on the ground!
But still, the dog persisted. As she leaned against the wall, starting on the second meat-packed corn tortilla, she could feel his eyes boring into her. And boy how much she despised him for it. How date that dog make her uncomfortable for stealing a free body that was just lying around unoccupied. Didn’t it understand the concept of ‘finders keepers’?
Bite! Unf. Stare.
She wasn’t going to let this dog ruin her night. Nope. Now when there was the very distinct possibility that she found an actual body to inhabit from here on out. She was going to finish her taco, walk back into that park, and find that fine-assed jogger and convince him to take her home to batter dip the corndog until dawn!
Yup. That was the plan. Nothing was going to deviate her from it.
It only took a few more bites to devour the taco. It was amazingly good. She half-considered going back for anothering one but when she raised her head, she caught sight of the cook in the food truck again. The sweaty, rotund man was picking his nose and, when he caught her look, blew a kiss and made a lewd, possibly illegal, gesture for what she promised to do. Urk. The taco almost came back up.
”Okay, time to go.” she said, crumpling up the plate and the foil. As waved and winked to the cook and, when he turned, she slipped away and tossed the trash into a nearby can. As stepped back into the park, ready to initiate phase two and find that jogger, her eyes settled back on the dog. She rolled her eyes. ”No. Stay.” she said firmly. ”Follow me again, I’m calling the pound.”
She nodded firmly, sucked the grease from her fingers and wiped them on her jeans. Now, where was Mr. Sexy Shorts? She had a workout in mind for him...

Okay, so things weren’t going exactly as planned. That was both a good and a bad thing. The good thing was that she was met with an unprecedented circumstance; this body was unoccupied. Cas had never run into this kind of issue before. There had been some bodies she had taken over where the mind was just so dimwitted that it was a simple enough affair knocking them out of place. However even in those instances she could feel their lingering presence.
But this was different. There was nothing here. It was like she walked into a house that was completely devoid of any furniture or any signs of another living person. The fact was that Cas had never run into a situation like this before so it was a little confusing on what she could expect. Would her timelimit still stand? Would she be kicked out after 24 hours? Or...was this it? Was this her new body now? She didn’t want to get excited at the prospect, but…what if this was it?
However, there was also the bad thing: that being that the ****ing dog wouldn’t leave her alone! The rest of her time in the line for the taco truck, Cas was annoyed to see that the dog was still faithfull there. He wasn’t barking or biting at her, which was good, but his constant vigilance was getting on her nerves. The last thing she needed was a tag along, especially if this was going to be her new body.
At least he wasn’t breathing down her neck anymore. After she had placed her order and managed to wrangle a free taco plate with a smile, a wink, and a promise of something more gratifying than money as payment, Cas stepped off to the side and towards a small brick wall where she could eat her tacos in peace. She had to hurry or she would have to make good on her promise to Alberto (ew).
Finally, she had her coveted carne asada tacos with onions, garlic, and hot sauce. But before she could even get one bite in, out of the corner of her eye she spied that dog. Still he was standing. Still he was watching. And she was getting peeved. Ugh. This is why she disliked dogs so much. Annoying buggers.
Plucking up one of her sacred tacos, she marched over to the dog, knelt down, and plopped it at his feet. ”There. Eat. Don’t say I didn’t give you anything.” she grumbled. ”At least you can enjoy this meal before I call the pound on you. Annoying dog.” Standing back up, she returned to her post, leaned against the wall, and finally took that coveted bite.
Orgasmic. It was the only way to describe it. Eyes crossed, a lewd groan on her lips, and Cas sighed through the mouth of this young blonde she was inhabiting. Really, this had to be one of the best tacos, like, ever. And she was going to savor it -- at least until that dog irritated her enough to find a phone and make do on her promise to call the pound. This was a one woman show after all!

Sitting behind the wheel of her ill-gotten means of transportation, Cas flipped down the visor and had to smile. A pair of mirrored shades fell from the top and landed in her open hand. Douches like this guy always had mirrored sunglasses tucked into their sun visors; predictable.
With a flick of her wrist, she popped open the glasses and slipped them over her borrowed eyes. The smirk on her lips extended as she looked upon herself in the rearview mirror -- perfect.
What made it even better was the praise she was receiving from her tag along consciousness. Apparently Juniper loved the scam that she had just pulled. Glancing into the mirror, Cas bowed her head gently in thanks before turning her gaze back to the road.
”You’re too kind, sweetie,” she smiled. ”The key is confidence. Walk with purpose and people will bow to get out of your way.”
With that pearl of wisdom dropped, Cas decided it was time to get back to the objective at hand -- what were they going to do with their day? Juniper was willing and had some AMAZING ideas (save for the one that could get her into prison) so it just boiled down to what she wanted to do first. Cas had some ideas and, with a wicked smile, again looked into the mirror and winked at her reflection (and Juniper in kind).
”Hang on, Matchstick, I got an idea…”
***
It was damn near hedonistic the way that Cas spent the next couple of hours. After driving about the city with quick, dangerous turns and flipping off any and all who honked at her, Cas was in her element. First she picked up a couple of hot girls she spied walking and minding their own business. In the next phase, she drove around the ritziest districts and shops until she found the richest and most handsome man. It was easy to reel him in with care full of young, attractive women.
Now, she was in her element -- an expensive clothing store. Cas sighed as she strolled with confidence, hanging onto the arm of a stock broker with an entourage of sexy women following behind them. It didn’t take much to talk him into a spending binge and thus, here they were, in some of the fanciest shops, trying on clothes, picking out jewelry, and promising a night of clothing-free revelry that he would never forget.
Cas grinned as Mr. Stock Broker whispered all the lewd things he was imagining doing to her and her friends before he slipped away to see which of the sleazy outfits he had picked out that one of the friends was slipping into in the dressing room. Cas chuckled and turned back to the jewelry counter, looking at the diamond stud earrings in her ears.
”Mmm, you know the rubies are fantastic…” she said. ”But diamonds really are a girl’s best friend. Don’t you agree?” she asked, looking into the mirror.

Oh. My. GAWD. Casey was all smiles as she marched down the path of the park. Wafting through the air she could already smell that tantalizing aroma of grease, meat, and tortillas. She made it in time. Emergency Nine Juan-Juan Tacos was still here! Mmmm, the ghostly body thief did a little dance on the pavement as she marched onward and spied the distant ambulance-painted trunk with the taco insignia on the side.
”Ugh! Yes! Yes!” she said in relief. Happy that she hadn’t missed her opportunity, she continued on her trek.
That was the odd thing about her abilities. When she was in her ghostly form, she had no sense of smell, taste, or touch. She could see and hear just fine, strangely enough, but lacking the others made her unlife just so...dull. When she first experienced life like this, it had resulted in many a panic attack, but she was a ghost, what was there to worry about? But, over time, it was a state she gradually grew accustomed to.
But just because she was accustomed to it didn’t mean she liked it. That was what made body stealing such a thrill. It was like shaking off a persistent numb spot. There was a momentary discomfort from pins and needles but eventually those were replaced by the sharpest return of senses. And that was intoxicating.
Her mouth salivated at the idea of those greasy tacos. She was just about to get in line when the sound of padded feet following close behind drew her attention. Turning, she spied that same German Shepard from before, obediently following behind her. She rolled her eyes. Great. She told him to stay but apparently he no speaky da english. If only she knew how to say it in German.
”Oh, come on, dog,” she grumbled. She started to move up the line. She was only two people away from taco-y goodness. ”Scat and begone, mongrel,” she proclaimed. When still the dog didn’t move she shook her head. ”You can stand there all you want but you’re not getting one of my tacos. Bad dog.” she said firmly. ”Go live free or something. I’m sure whomever your master is doesn’t want you as a burden when she gets back.”
Speaking of...again, it had been awfully quiet. Normally she could hear the sounds of the other conscious sleeping peacefully or could feel their resistances building. But that wasn’t the case now. Truthfully...she felt nothing. Absolutely nothing. She moved up another space and a smile pulled at her lips. An living, uninhabited body. Oooooh! OOOOOOHHHH!!!!! T-This was just…way too good!!!
“NEXT!!” a voice shouted.
Jumping, Casey smirked and she marched forward. She had to think about this but first thing first -- TACO TIME!!!

Cas was anchoring for something fun to do. She had new powers, she had a willing hostage, and now she was eager to get into some mischief. But what to do? The kinder side of her (yes, one existed) had promised the blonde that she wouldn’t allow her body to be molested without permission. Also that she would do what she could to keep the young woman from being cast on the five o’clock news.
She sighed. That was a little boring but she guessed that she could oblige. She did say she was in a giving mood so why not give until it hurt.
”Fiiiine,” she grumbled as she stopped to peer at herself in the glass once more. ”Such a buzzkill.”
With a look around the city, she tilted her head as she peered around and tried to think of something that she could do. And then, eyeing the hotel across the street, a wicked grin crept over her lips. And idea sparked.
”You know, I like your taste in men, Matchstick. But as much as I would love to smash the **** out of him, I want to make sure your legs work until I’m good and ready.” She then smirked, raising her hand to a car, ignoring the honks of protest and proceeded to cross anyway. ”But don’t worry your pretty, empty little head. I’ll make sure you get some fun before the day is out -- and that include getting Mr. Xavier’s attention.”
She moved across the street, heading directly for the hotel. But rather than go in through the front doors, she looped around to the side, the worker’s entrance. It didn’t take her long to find one of the valet’s off their shift and after a quick conversation, and promise for fun that would never happen, Cas returned to the front of the hotel and tied her hair into a respectable manner. Added to her wardrobe was a red, silk vest and a name tag that wasn’t her’s.
”Show time…” she said softly.
It didn’t take long for the next car to show up, a beautiful, gold, BMW convertible. With confidence she marched up to the driver and cheerily welcomed them to the hotel in a tone that said she definitely worked there. Though she momentarily earned a curious look from the much older gentleman with obvious hair plugs, Cas’s bright smile and confident aura were convincing enough.
Keys plopped into Cas’ hand and she smiled. Moving around to the driver’s side of the car, she sighed as she slipped into the seat, inserted the keys, and revved the engine. Carefully she drove out of the driveway, making ready to turn to the parking structure, but that wouldn’t be her destination.
”Awesome...we have wheels now,” she said, looking in the mirror. ”And don’t worry! Joyride for an hour or two and I’ll bring the car back. He won’t even notice it was ever gone. In the meantime, let’s go have some fun!” [/i][/i]

Sitting up, Casey sighed luxuriously as she stretched and ran her fingers through her now blonde hair. It was surprising the number of blondes she was inhabiting. First Juniper and now this little snack? Maybe she was developing a type in her sixty years of semi-life. Ridiculous, to be honest, but even as the thought of Juniper came to her, she mused as to whether or not she could find the young woman again.
Thoughts for another time. As much as she wanted to look up that piece of sweet phasing ***, there were far more important things to do right now -- like get to that taco truck before it left.
Her gaze fell to the dog at her side. Hrm, he clearly was noting that something was different but wasn't making any moves to come after her. Good. She didn't need this body's overprotective animal barking up a storm and making everything more difficult.
With a sigh Casey stood up, stretched and glanced down to the beast -- to which she quickly shot a finger gun at. "Keep my secret and I'll keep yours, babe." After taking a step she turned back around and smirked at the dog. "Stay." she said firmly "I'm sure someone will come for you. Or live your life free. I don't care. No one should live tied to a leash. Catch ya later, furball!"
With a turn on the ball of her foot, Casey marched off with her new body and a whistle on her lips. Life was certainly good. Leaving random bodies around. The person who it belonged to was probably in a deep sleep as Cas still couldn't sense resistance. Hrm, maybe after she claimed her coveted tacos she'll have a conversation with whomever is in the backseat, or trunk in this case.
But that would be after she fill her stomach to bust with greasy street food. A song on her lips, Cas didn't look to see if the dog followed and instead simply skipped on her way, going so far as to slap the shapely, firm backside of as passing male jogger. She waggled her eyebrows at him then bit her lip with a little purr before turning around and movin on.
Ooooh, tonight was going to be fun. She could feel it.

Oooooh, wasn’t this a treat. Casey looked through the bushes for a better glance and found a most delectable treat. A woman, blonde, was sleeping tenderly against the rough bark of a treat. Anyone asleep in the park was probably either homeless or after a death wish but to Casey it didn’t seem like the woman was either. Maybe she was some bohemian hipster trying to find artistic inspiration in the closest thing she could find to nature.
Silly girl. This will be a good lesson to not leave candy out for complete strangers to pluck.
For Cas, this couldn’t have been an easier score. Sleeping people were easiest for her to slip into. It was like sucking the meat clean off of a chicken wing. There was little to no resistance, just a continuation of a bad dream that they will wouldn’t wake up from unless she allowed it ( or 24 hours passed).
Mmm, the young blond certainly clicked off all the boxes of requirements that Cas had for body thieving: young, fit, and a pretty face. Those were her favorites to occupy as they tended to allow her to get what she wanted with minimal effort. Though she was not out to cause any mayhem, she was certain that with a face like that, she could get herself out of any trouble with but wink and smile.
Maybe a little upshirt surprise if she were truly desperate.
The dog was annoying but she could probably just manage to tie him and walk away. No muss no fuss.
With another cautionary glance, just to make sure no one saw a ghost apparition slip into an unsuspecting body, and Cas made her move. Slipping around the perimeter of the bushes, she peered out and waited until the most opportune time. The dog looked away, the woman was still asleep, and no one else was around. Perfection.
Like a morning mist over a hill, Cas drifted in an ethereal cloud towards the sleeping woman. By the time the dog would sense anything, the the ghostly mutant had already drifted over and slipped into the woman’s sleeping body.
Once inside, she grew outward like a germinating plant, uncoiling and filling the empty crevices of the unconscious body. It was strange, even sleeping bodies offered some initial resistance but strangely there this body seemingly had the doors wide open and the red carpet laid out. Hrm, must be a true dullard to not deny her access. Oh well.
With a gasp Cas opened her newly acquired eyes and sighed with satisfaction. She could feel the refreshment of blood flowing through her awakening limbs. With a curl of her wrists and arms, she purred sensually, arching her back as she sat up.
”Mmm,” she rolled her neck and grinned. ”This feels totally yummy.”

It seems like there should be little to vex a ghost. But for Casey Babilon, decades of living had resulted in one thing to constantly haunt (no pun intended) the ghostly mutant -- and that was the search for the perfect carne asada tacos. It may seem like a silly thing to obsess over, but when all one has is unlife and the landscape of eternity before you, there are some things that need to be obsessed over, lest you go insane.
Today, Casey had a hankering for some tacos. So, after completing a series of necessary message deliveries for the Syndicate, and clearing up a few personal matters that she would attend to later, it was decided that tonight was the night she would continue her ill-fated search.
There was just one thing she needed before she began her grand adventure -- the perfect body.
The park seemed like the best place to start looking. Though the ghostly woman was partially transparent thanks to her mutation, it would still set some people off to see one drifting aimless through the open air. But the park, oh that was the best place to pick up a body. There were loads of places to hide: high foliage for her to float through, thick bushes to peek from behind, and so many nooks and crannies that it should be simple enough to pick out a solitary soul for her to claim as her own. After all, this was New York and despite constant warning from authorities, there were still those people who were rip to be used as cautionary tales.
Dressed as she always was in her torn denim shorts, her loose gray top, and black leather jacket, the mostly transparent Casey drifted lazily from hiding nook to hiding nook. The park seemed fairly empty for this time of day, which was disappointing. She was looking to hit that taco trunk down the street before it left fairly soon. But, she didn’t want to pick just anyone. No, she needed someone she could feel good in.
Hrm, what was on the menu today? Drifting through a thick bramble of bushes, Casey surveyed her pickings: a fat guy in jogging clothes (and far too many sweat stains)? Nah, too smelly. An elite-type woman walking her yippy little dog? Nope, the dog would probably growl and yip at her the entire time. How about the tortured artist sitting under that tree and trying to draw the essence of a leaf? Hrm...nope, she’d want to slap the pretentious off his face. Hrm, there had to be…
”Ohhhh...hello gorgeous…” Casey whispered to herself. Through the thicket she spotted the perfect prey. She only needed to get close enough now...

There were a lot of words that came to mind when thinking about the holidays around New York. Inspirational, merry, joyful, beautiful, were just a few of them. But to a certainly, bodily-challenged mutant, there was one word that the rest of the world seemed to forget to include: obnoxious.
The colored lights, the red and green tinsel decor, the aggravating music, it was enough to drive anyone completely mad. Every year Casey Babilon found herself getting just a little more bitter. Watching people stroll down the streets, sipping themed coffees, lugging packages under their arms, twisted the knife just a little deeper. It was a stern reminder of the many things that had been taken away from her since her powers backfired and left her floating around like some spirit in the void.
Could she possess people and experience these luxuries? Sure. As a matter of fact, that was what Cas tended to do. It wasn’t hard to find some lonely hearts wandering the putrid smelling shops and snow-covered streets and taking their body for a little joyride. But there was something different about experiencing these things in a body that wasn’t your own.
It was during these times that Cas was reminded that she wasn’t tasting gingerbread cookies with her own taste buds, nor was she listening to “All I Want for Christmas” with her own ears, she was experiencing these things through the muffled senses of another. And that was something that made everything all the more annoying.
Of course, that didn’t mean she wasn’t going to do anything fun this year. No. As a matter of fact, it was the exact opposite. Every year, Cas tried to top herself in finding holiday activities that were more pulse pounding and more likely to leave whatever hapless person she inhabited in gibbering confusion come morning.
Such was the drawback of living a life with no consequences - boredom. But this year? This year, she was going to do it. She was going to do something to get on the naughtiest of lists.
The department store was just as good as any place to start. While drifting lazily through the walls, being careful not to have to bluish transparent body noticed by any passersby, Cas was on the hunt. And she didn’t have to hunt for long.
The young woman was cute. A twenty-something, bundled up redhead with freckles on her nose, thick glasses, and pouty lips. She was clearly one of those girl-next-door types that just needed a little bit of encouragement to be a knock-out. She labored over handfuls of packages, probably one of those types that overdid it on Christmas to try and overcompensate for the fact that they were bundles of anxious insecurities.
Drifting between the thick clothing racks, Cas waited patiently. Only when the redhead drifted closer to her, inspecting the clothing, did the ghostly mutant pounce.
She slipped in like a glove.
Cas, occupying the now sound asleep consciousness of the redhead, sighed and stretched. The body was a little shorter than she would have liked, but as she ran her hands over the too-thick parka, she smiled.
”Ooooo, how yummy…” she purred to herself. Dropping the bags to her sides, she unzipped the parka, and ran her hands over her now curvaceous form. ”Homegirl is thicker than she likes to let on. Oh no, hunny,” she said to herself, and to the sleeping consciousness. ”This won’t do at all, baby.” Pulling the jacket off, plucking up the purse and leaving the packages behind, she immediately headed to a more risque clothing section. ”We’re gonna break the bank and deck these halls!” She giggled and added an extra sway to her newly rotund posterior.

Cas grinned, ignoring the sound of retching in the back of her mind. She was very close to just shoving Juniper’s consciousness back into the quiet depths of sleep, but thankfully she didn’t need to have the gang leader’s hands on her ass much longer than what was necessary. Once she had trapped the dumbass in the wall, she peered back to the others and issued her challenge.
They were smarter than they looked. With a squeak and a scamper, they were off and, before long, had vanished around a corner. Cas breathed a small sigh. She was grateful. Not that they could have hurt her, but because if things had progressed any further, she would have had to have given this sweet little body up before any fun could be had with her.
That would have certainly been a waste.
Then again, with how Juniper was whining, she was wondering if maybe she should just ditch her. Nah, after having such an exciting and near failure of a morning, she needed a bit of downtime in a sweet, tight little form. Now that she had that, she wasn’t going to give it up easily.
She rolled her eyes, stuffing her hands into her jean pockets and moved on down the alley. ”You know, I really don’t need your permission for anything, right?” she scoffed. She reached her hands out, running them along the walls, smiling at the sensation of the brick against her fingertips. ”I don’t even have to let you in the backseat. I can keep you completely in the dark if I wanted to.”
A light giggle escaped her lips. She let those words sink in as she made her way out of the alley and back onto the street. It was so easy to be malicious with what she could do. She could ruin lives. She has ruined lives. It was a situation that was completely dependent on her mood. And right now...her mood said…
Glancing at a storefront window, she peered at the reflection but looked directly at Juniper. ”Fine. I leave your precious body unmolested...for now.” She then grinned. ”And thanks. As I’m sure you know, sometimes you have to do what you have to do to protect yourself.” She sighed. ”So...what do to now…” clicking her tongue softly she peered around the street. ”Something good…? Something bad…? Little bit of both?” She clapped her hands together and headed off. ”Come on, New York. Time to show this girl a good time…”

It was an accomplishment. Cas couldn’t be more pleased with herself, or, rather, her progress. Picking up a mutant’s abilities could be a challenge. She couldn’t say how many times she accidentally burned a hole through a wall or knocked over a priceless sculpture with a tail or sent a hapless teenager floating off into the open sky (she was sure he eventually came back down). All that being said, mutant powers could be difficult when you only had a body for 24 hours, but they could be a hell of a lot of fun.
Time was ticking away every second that she was standing in his alley, attempting to put her hand through drywall. But it happened. Eventually it certainly happened. And she was elated. Even Juni’s mind was congratulating her on how quickly she was learning, something that made Cas inadvertently smile. This was awesome -- and so very, very useful.
Matchstick joked about being distracted from the fear of what trouble she could get her into now and Cas grinned in a devilish way. She honestly didn’t have anything planned but she was certainly going to keep her options open.
And then...the laughter started. Laughter that wasn’t her own.
Turning her head, she watched as the stereotypes of New York gangbangers began to descend upon her. Crawling from the corners like roaches, they all jeered and leered at her in ways that left little to the imagination. She sighed and rolled her eyes; this was not something she wanted on her happy fun day agenda.
Truth be told, she didn’t have to deal with this. She could easily just pull herself out of Juniper’s body and head off unharmed wherever she wanted to go and leave the meatsuit to fend for herself. But no. She couldn’t do that. She wouldn’t do that. Not because she actually gave a shit about the blonde, but because she still had her diamonds in an inhaler in her pocket. After everything, she wasn’t going to lose her prize of the day to these losers.
Fiiiiine.
She rolled her neck, sighed, and cracked a small smile. Juniper began to feed her information on how to fuse them to drywall. Simple enough now that she was managing the powerset. Besides, it was all confidence, wasn’t it?
With a wide smile, she looked upon the lead guy who combed his shitty hair with foul-scented pomade. Why not put the fear of god into them. As they attempted to lure her closer, lecherous tones in their voices, she stepped up to the shorter leader and gave him a purr and a smile.
”Ooooh, big talk usually means other big things,” she cooed. Stepping closer she reached out, taking his wrists gently in hers, smiling like a smitten kitten as she held them up and looked them over. ”Oooh, just like I thought -- big hands…” she said huskily. ”I know exactly how you can put these to good use, baby…”
She began to walk backwards. The group seemed stunned at the easiness of this conquest, whistling and wincing as Cas pulled the leader deeper into the alley and closer to the drywall that was standing up. She let the hands move along her hips and around to her butt, keeping rapt with attention until she reached back around, holding his wrists and pressed her back against the wall.
”We don’t need to go anywhere but here, baby,” she grinned. ”Why don’t we…” holding his hands, she started to make her backside phase through the drywall, moving subtly through it. ”...step into my parlor.”
The leader grinned and giggled, closed his eyes and pursed his lips as he awaited a kiss and another feel of that nice rear. But as he continued to lean forward he felt nothing but her tightening grip on his wrists and empty air for his lips to kiss. And then...there was pain. Such pain. He opened his mouth to scream only to find out that he couldn’t. As a matter of fact, he could barely move!!
Cas stepped out from behind the drywall, leaning against it as she looked at the leader, his wrists, and lips, now trapped in the drywall. Leaning against it as he struggled, Cas sighed as she carefully ran a finger over her lips and flicked the spittle off with disdain. She mustered the most devilish smile she could and eyed the remaining gang who looked between her and their flailing, panicked leader.
”What’s wrong, boys?” she teased. ”Not in the mood to play anymore?”

A shrug. ”Maybe I am? Why?” she purred. ”Are you scared?”
She was called the devil. Cas merely stared at her reflection, staring at the person she was inhabiting and simply grinned all the wider. It wasn’t the first time that she was confused for such an entity. On more than one occasion she possessed an overly religious type that didn’t know how to handle this kind of situation. Prayers were uttered, demands that she go to hell, even attempts at guessing her demon name in order to extract her. Of course, none of it was true, but she didn’t mind playing the part if it made things a little more fun for her.
Matchstick really didn’t seem like the god-fearing type so she figured her question was more a joke than anything else, but just in case, she grinned at her reflection in the most malevolent of ways. It should be enough to cause Juniper to not question just how far she would go.
And sure enough it seemed to work. Juniper agreed to teach her. Though she made no comment about Cas plotting ways to seduce the mysterious Xavier, Cas figured that her little host didn’t want to think about what she could conceive. Instead why not focus on the more immediate need, teaching her possessing spirit what she wanted to learn and pray to not be left for dead in some wall.
Good girl.
Cas listened as she took a detour down an alley, seeking something, anything that she could try out her new found powers on. The rules seemed pretty simple enough, just focus and concentration. It was much the same as any other mutant that she took over, save for the physically mutated. Those were another story. And in spite of Juniper’s warning, Cas wasn’t really scared. If she did get stuck in a wall, she could easily eject herself from her current body without harm. The same couldn’t be said for Juniper, but that wasn’t really her problem, was it?
She found a more secluded alley and there found several standing sheets of drywall. Seemed that the building there was under construction and the crew was off for the day. Some poor contractor had neglected to bring these in at the end of the day. Sucks of them, but a boon for her.
Standing up the sheet of drywall, she peered at it from either side. It seemed pretty thin. And if she failed, she could easily just break through it, though probably not when her body was midway moving through it. She clapped her hands together, standing on one side, and lifted her hand. Eyes closed, a deep breath, and she pushed her finger against the wall.
Nothing.
But she didn’t get frustrated. No. Being technically dead for 40 years meant that she had a certain amount of patience. So she merely closed her eyes and waited. Every once and awhile she would push her finger against the board to no effect. But she merely took another breath, backed away, and tried again. She did this several times until, finally she felt a strange lightness radiate from her core, like her body was going fuzzy. Pushing her hand forward, she waited for resistance from the wall; there was none.
Opening her eyes, her hand had fully phased through the wall, up to the wrist. Quickly she pulled her hand out and grinned very wide.
”Oh Matchstick…” she purred.. ”You have no idea how happy this makes me. We’re going to have so much fun today.”

Cas had made two full strides towards the bathroom when Juniper’s panicked voice began to rebound in her head. In that second she revealed the fraudulent claims her chest was making and she stopped, arms crossed over her chest, listening to everything. She really didn’t want her picture taken, especially since what Cas was threatening to send didn’t exist. With a small pout she “tsked” at her reflection, reprimanding Juniper with a slight shake of her own head.
”Bad girl,” she whispered. ”Lying like that.”
She took another step to the bathroom, as if threatening to make that her photostudio anyways but turned on her heel and headed for the door. She left her uneaten frozen yogurt behind, along with a more than sizable tip (hey, wasn’t her money). With a grin she shoved open the door to the establishment and stepped out into the open air. That should have been more than enough time for the security team to have made their rounds.
With a mission accomplished and a tag along, it was time to go on an adventure. Now she just had to decide what she wanted to do. The possibilities were endless, especially knowing that she was in possession of a mutant! Those were always the best! And the powers! Ooooh! She could have so much fun with those. She was going to wreck havoc today. But, in the back of her mind, there was one thing that she kept at the forefront of her mind.
She grinned. ”Okay. No photo...unless I can’t think of something better to do to get you into Xavier’s pants.” She began to walk down the sidewalk, her fingers flexing and squeezing in thought. ”I’ll think of something good. Something even he won’t be able to ignore.” As she walked she stopped as she caught her reflection in another window. Staring at herself, or Juniper, a wide, wicked grin crept over her lips. ”Oh...I think I have an absolutely amazing idea, Matchstick. But first...care to show me how your powers work?” She shrugged her shoulders. ”Unless you want me to test it out myself and leave you stuck in a wall somewhere?’

Cas didn’t interrupt Juniper as she began to offer up a bit more info about White Bread, or as she would come to learn, Xavier. How intriguing. Cas was all smiles as she looked upon her reflection, listening to the blonde’s voice as it rebounded inside of her head. Mm, so very, very tasty. Everything that she had described sounded so amazing. Truly it was an entertaining tale, exactly what she had asked of her.
But it truly made her wonder a bit about Xavier. Judging from Juniper’s own words, there was an open invitation. If she were throwing herself that hard at the hunky hero, then why wasn’t he taking the bait? Cas wondered if maybe she wasn’t his type, in more ways than one. After all, what man wouldn’t take a willing woman up on such an offer? She shrugged a little, resting her chin into the palm of her hand, staring out the window.
”Wow. Talk about a swing and a miss,” she mused out loud. ”Either you’re really bad at flirting or you don’t have the necessary ‘tool’ he’s after.” A wicked grin covered her lips as she glanced down at Juniper’s phone again.
Hrm, maybe she could arrange a meeting with Xavier and give this girl the piece she was so desperately after. Of course it would be Cas doing all the work, but, hey, for a bod like that, she was willing to take one for the team. However, before she could voice that thought, she was pulled back by something extremely interesting that the blonde had just said.
Powers? She didn’t know she had wrangled herself a mutant! Of course that wasn’t a big surprise given the fact that she was in New York City of all places; the freak capital of the world. There were more mutants here than anywhere else and, yes, she had managed to body thief a few of them. Bodies were easy to take over, powers could be a bit trickier. Physical mutants didn’t take as long to master as opposed to those that could shoot rays from their noses or run at super speeds.
But this girl. Her powers already sounded interesting. What could she do? She mentioned phasing and Cas could feel her heart bounce a few extra beats. Walking through walls? Heh, no wonder the blonde had a big wad of cash on her. Looking into the reflection, she grinned extra wide.
”Phasing, huh? Well isn’t that just peachy?” she smirked. ”I can think of a couple wicked adventures we could get into with that. But first…” she picked up the phone and turned the camera on selfie mode. ”You want me to head to the bathroom and send ‘Xavier’ a topless pic?” She started to stand and head towards the bathroom. ”It could help your chances.”
