The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

As predicted, she knew exactly what she was doing. She got into position, and gave her name. They did not reply just yet, allowing the woman to crank out the set. They read her the whole time she lifted. She liked the pain, a bit. The feeling of pushing ones self. The limits. Security. She liked the security of it. Odd. Something about being in shape maybe made her feel safe? That made sense. Ash could always just bulk up for a walk in the street at night.
They stayed close to push the bar away or slow if they needed to, but there was no need. There was, however, a little bit of a surprised chuckle as she collapsed back into them after the set. "Heh heh, Nice to meet you, Rhia." There was a sort of satisfaction that came with how one felt at the end of a set that was at the perfect weight; if your body didn't feel like jello you were doing it wrong.
The giant gently righted her, careful not to overstep their bounds. She turned, announcing there was one more set. The masculine Vlad thought for a moment, and then smiled out a sly. "How about coffee?" There it was, the hail mary pass, acted out perfectly to seem like a stretch, when in actuality it was a well practiced maneuver. It was the 'I'm not aware i'm insanely attractive and thus i'll act like i'm asking out someone who is a bit out of my league when the truth is I was super careful to match my level of attractiveness perfectly to yours to increase the odds of success.' tactic.
They swirled their drink, letting it hover under a ruby red painted lip as they listened to him speak. A small sip found the glass back to its place on the bar top for a moment. "I too like to help people. Make them happy. I do it in my own way, though. No great aspirations as far as being a doctor, priest or president. I like to think I'm doing my part one night at a time." There was no shrugging, or uncertainty. They were direct statements made with direct eye contact.
Observations were straight forward. This person liked his simple beer. He liked talking about his band. He liked talking to 'Devia', but who wouldn't?
He talked about his idea for the night. They were on a similar page, but at the same time, with a glance around at the dive, maybe a different setting would be preferable. One that wasn't filled with distractions. "Devia? I think it's Hebrew, honestly, but my parents weren't. They just liked that sound of the name. But enough about me, how about you? I know!" A hand was placed on his chest gently.
"Have you ever played a game..." They leaned in, using the hand on the chest as a bit of support, and lowered their volume a little bit. "Called follow the little green man?"
Was he... maintaining eye contact? Adorable. Sad, because they wanted to be looked at, so it was a complete waste of restraint. Still, it was a noble and pious feat. Ash would have to break him of that before the night was through. A bit of a surprised expression appeared on their face as he state he was in med school.
"Wow, that's amazing. What makes you want to be a doctor?" They had always preferred the arts over other fields of learning. Their drink showed up, and they lit up, grabbing it up and taking a long sip. Ahhh, vice. A nice aged scotch with an almost charcoaly bite to it. The warmth from the burn heated them up and they almost seemed lost in the moment with the fire water in their grasp.
Ash returned to the world quickly, smiling at the man. "Thank you. My name is Devia. What are you plans for the night, Danny?"
The cute little face would light up with a smile when he agreed to buy them a drink. "lovely!" He really couldn't refuse; let's be honest, they were way out of his league, but slumming it from time to time was fun.
To be honest, Ash would have preferred they pick another bar, as when they walked back into this one, the lead singer was buffeted with comments and razz's. It was worthy of an eyeroll, which they opted to hold back in favor of humoring the moment. After all, there was a drink in it, and some fun tonight, hopefully. The succubus smiled and gave a short shoulder shrug, smiling and winking as they replied to the comment about the tail. "Play your cards right and you'll like it even more later."
They sat at the bar, and the devil leaned forward, giving a good view down the front and a better view from behind as he ordered a beer, and he offered Ash... anything they wanted.
Mischievous eyes twinkled a bit as they looked to the bar tender. "Is that... an aged scotch I see up there? Yes, i'll have a double, with ice, please." The bartender looked to Danny, and then back to the beautiful devil, and then turned to pour the drink. At 27 dollars a shot, it was going to be expensive.
The beauty turned in the stool, still smiling as they turned to him, and crossed arms in front of their chest, pressing on the right things to make that cleavage pop. "So, tell me about yourself. Do you sing full time?"

Experienced eyes caught her blush, and a pleased feeling associated with it. A good start. Normally they would have watched for a while, pieced together a bit of a profile for what this person would want most, and then make it happen, but tonight was about the thrill of going in blind. After all, it was only for a throwaway good time. They bowed their head a little bit from the compliment, and replied, "There is always room for improvement, no?"
Her dialect had a bit of a southern twinge to it. They liked that; a little southern comfort took the edge off of things these day. The wink was met with a smirk and a nod.
This was an Olympic lift, which meant they weren't going to be doing a typical spot. It was more hands off, guide the weight if it fell out of the other end sort of thing. While they knew they couldn't lift this weight, they felt pretty confident guiding it, provided she didn't lug the damn thing behind her. The smirk became an amused smile in reaction to her warm up shakes as eyes wandered a moment.
What a treat.
"Ready when you are, Miss." They got into a location behind, about a step back, so they could move in if needed, but so that a dropped weight did not fall on them.
"Took you long enough, darling." Words smooth as silk flowed out from off to the side of the door as the devil of a womanly form leaned forward to a standing position, their tail waving slowly from left to right as they tucked shoulder length, dark purple locks behind an ear. It had been cold outside, but the intake of liquor always helped warm things up a bit. Still, their breath came out in a light mist, and their pink skin gave way to a rosey color around their cheeks.
In short, they managed to somehow make looking a bit cold more attractive. "I'll be honest, I've been waiting for you... You caught my attention in there, and I think I may have caught yours as well." A smirk showed on their dollish features as they turned and walked past. "I'm cold, though. I don't suppose you could buy me a drink, to warm me up?"
A tight dress showed off her form well as they moved, pausing to look back. "I would love the company."

What was that? The hint of a feeling, among the sea of discomforts and appreciations that said. 'ohhh, I like that devilman's body.' Their eyes perked up a bit, and swept around. it lingered, it lingered, and then as eyes swept past a certain figure just as they were getting back to their business. Oh? She was younger, but not too young. and...
Wow. She was fit! Eyes traced the compact form of a woman that clearly loved to lift; they could tell that before the feeling worked its way into their mind. This woman was in her element, and that... That was beautiful. As were thighs that could slay mere mortals with minimal effort. A tooth found a lip for Ash as well. Yellow orbs took in details. Details like she could lift more than they could, which opened up a world of possibilities in their mind. Yes. This was the one for the night.
How to approach, though. Ash was a master at the approach, but those ill-conceived guides that swindled people out of their money with promise of a catch-all approach were garbage. Every single person on this planet was unique, and needed to be interacted with in a unique way to ensure their own interests were piqued.
In this case, Ash waited until she was mid-set, and walked past, water bottle in hand, pausing to watch her for a moment until she'd completed the set. "Bravo... Excellent form." They spoke with a smoky-smooth voice, throwing on a well practiced light Russian accent. light enough to know if she liked the sound of it well enough to tuck it back to unnoticeable if she didn't. "I could learn a thing or two from you, I think."
Now, to judge the reaction. It was tough to approach someone in a Gym. Often times that was their happy place. They knew well enough not to speak while she was in the act of lifting, as distractions could be, well, bad to say the least. They also kept a fair distance, placing themselves so that they didn't cut off any realms of retreat. In a world like this, women noticed those things, especially in the presence of large men they didn't know. In short, Ash was going for neutral and nonthreatening.
"Pardon if I am interrupting. My name is Vlad, and I wondered if you might want a spotter? I have just finished for the day, and I have time."
When you could puff yourself up like an statuesque looking olympic weight lifter if you wanted to, going to the gym might seem like a fools affair. When those physical changes were just for looks it became apparent that one might want to do some strength training to at least be able to pass off as strong.
So, Ash-Lee was at the gym. It was a masculine feels day, so they were sporting a tall, lean muscular male frame with soft red skin and short horns that curved upward ever so slightly. As they toweled off a bit of sweat from their brow, a devilish smile formed as a pair of eyes found their form. Eyes that liked what they saw. There we go, the real reason they were here.
They were taking someone fit home tonight. A tongue glided across slightly pointy pearly whites as they found the eyes staring at them. A woman who was running on a treadmill looked away quickly, turning beet red. Ash smiled again. Shame, she liked to look, but not be looked at back. Oh well, better to ignore her, and give her a show; some people liked to oogle and fantasize, and that made making their day a little easier.
Ash removed their white shirt, and stretched a bit, hopping on the pull up bar with their back to the treadmill lady so they could see a muscular back as they did their workout. Ahh, there it was, gratification once more. What was better than an easy route to making someone else's day better?
Oh, right, making your own day better. They hopped down, and grabbed up their shirt, putting it back on as they moved toward the next machine, eye out for anyone that looked interesting. Fun. Sexy. All of the above, or just one. A good time was a good time, after all.
This night was about those things that were simple, that took the edge off. A fruity drink with a little umbrella in it, a crowd to be lost in, eyes to catch and bodies to linger on. Ash-Lee was in comfort food mode tonight. No high stakes gambling with high rollers, or long cons on the docket, no, they were simply going to find someone entertaining to latch on to, get dizzy with, and roll around with, in that order.
Early in the night they had decided what they were in the mood for when they walked in to a local dive and saw a band playing. Lead singer, no ring on a finger, eyeing the crowd for pretty women as he played. Ash sat in the back, slowly adjusting features to match what he seemed to like as he scanned the crowd. Long legs, decent height, 5'9? That would work. Curves... Yes, they would go with the Georgia peach. A quick look at a reflective surface. Doll-like eyes, softer lips, more feminine jaw line. Perfect. God they looked hot. Ash licked ruby red lips and took another sip of their drink before sliding off the bar stool, and heading into the crowd, curling their horns back and going with a showy pink-red skin tone that popped. They needed to catch the lead singer's eyes a few times during the show to make the transition to catching his arm after much easier.
As ToTo's Africa came on, they danced in the crowd, sliding through it with practiced ease to get closer to the front and move those curves in ways that even made the guys clinging to their girlfriends stare... some of the girlfriends too. Goddam did Ash bless the rains down in Africa. They paid attention to the lead singer's likes throughout the last of the set to see in they'd picked right. Adjustments could still be made in this atmosphere without being noticed.
The song ended, and they disappeared into the crowd, circling around the back in order to catch the lead singer after the show. A long black tail flicked back and forth in silent excitement for the potential of the night as they glanced around the dark back-alley, a patient spider awaiting their prey. After all, the lead singer always left first.

Character
Personality: Ash is a proud deviant. They don't believe in taboo, or that things should be held sacred. Society is a foolish waste of time built to stop those who want from getting just that. Wants are needs in disguise, and from their observations people often ignore their needs. They have an intense need to satiate their own desires, and revel in the thrill of doing so to others as well. There are exceptions to this: Ash does believe in the sanctity and purity of youth. In short, they are disgusted at the thought of someone asking them to take on the appearance of a minor for 'fun times.' It's a good way to get them to leave.
They like themselves. A lot. Mirrors are nice. How they look? Nice. Few people are as happy with themselves as a whole.
Their desires are not all selfish. They do like to make others feel good. It feels good to make others feel good.
If they want something, they will do what ever it takes to get it. Other people are important, sure, but they are not as important as what Ash wants; the pecking order is as follows: Ash, What Ash wants, You, What you want, other things. This holds true in perfect form. Ash will not put themselves in certain danger to get what they want, they will not put you ahead of what they want, they will not put you in danger to get what you want, and they will ignore other things in order to help get you want you want.
Their desires tend toward the lavish; big houses, fast cars, nice perfumes, anything expensive is a signifier of worth, and worth is king. This means that if you have something of worth that they covet, you will likely get catfished, strung along, and have it pried from you before being left in the dust.
When things get complicated, Ash tends to run. They like to preserve not only themselves, but their way of life, so real relationships are generally a no-no. Long cons? Those are a yes-yes.
Past that, there is no seeming void in their life. They don't do this to stave off loneliness or to combat depression. They revel because they like to. They throw their hands in the air because standing in the back rows at a concert is lame! They love and lust because why waste time not loving and lusting?
Hobbies/ Interests: Arts. Art collecting, drawing nude portraits, posing nude. Nice things. Interior decorating. People. Charming people. Sleeping with people. Music! Concerts! Fine dining~ Gambling, gambling gambliiiiing!
Job or part time job and description: They have not held down a job in years.
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Fighting. Pain. A great fear that all of the world's mirrors should one day turn to dust and reflective surfaces will be rare. Not being liked when they want to be. Complicated relationships.
Special talents: A general musical affinity. Piano is a passion. Public speaking. Thespianism.
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Neutral. They like to do good for others. They will gladly do terrible things to get what they want, but they don't do bad just to do bad. They believe the world is give and take, so they try to give as much as they take.
Mutations
Mutation description:
They are an Omnibus, for lack of a more simple term. All facets of their power are designed to support this role.
Ash takes on a devilish appearance, that of a sort of succubus or incubus. This is the only constant, the rest can change. That's right, Ash has perfect control of their apparent age, height, sex, hair length, skin tone(as long as it remains in the red/purple spectrum), masculine/ feminine features, etc. They are limited in this by the realm of human possibility. They cannot make themselves taller/shorter/wider/thinner than a normal human can be. Changes can be near instantaneous for facial features and the like, and more complex transitions only take a few seconds.
Ash has emapthic abilities designed to help them charm others. They can tell if someone likes or dislikes something to a targeted degree. This is specific to something they are experiencing at the time, but accurate to a T. Example: If someone is walking down the street eating ice cream, listening to music, and scratching an itchy face, Ash will know they love the music, like the ice cream, and are mildly annoyed by the itch. This makes faking or hiding pleasure completely impossible as far as Ash is concerned.
Ash is able to produce a pink smoke that can obscure their presence, but more importantly, if breathed in large volumes it can create a sort of euphoric feeling that can make them more open to persuasion. This is a mild effect. Ash cannot make someone do something completely uncharacteristic of themselves unless they want to. Rather, this can help people do things that they have wanted to do, but something has stopped them from doing.
Strengths: This all makes charming people a lot easier. They can know what others like and look like it, they can know if they are enjoying the experience. It makes getting what you want pretty easy as well. Their identity can be hard to track specifically. These powers do not exhaust from use.
Weaknesses and Limitations:
These powers do not help at all in combat. If you want to punch Ash, there is very little they can do to stop you. The smoke, while obscuring, does not make people lose any focus or accuracy. Their appearance, while flexible, is distinctive. They cannot take a human skin tone, they cannot make their horns nonexistant, they cannot make their tail disappear. They look like a demon, no exceptions.
Beefing up is a mostly cosmetic affair, Ash retains average strength for their height and weight at any time, so if they want to get really strong, they will have to hit the gym.
Physical Abilities
General Physical Capabilities: Ash is a lover, not a fighter. Running is fine, but no, Ash does not even lift.
Fighting Style: Try to get people to like you enough not to hit you. Try to be gone by the time they realize you have conned them.
Fighting Style Pros/Cons: Please don't hit me.
History Of Your Character
One day in the early 90's Ash-Lee woke up in a gutter in San Francisco California! They had no memories of a prior life, and that was fine. They just knew they were frisky, and they needed a drink. Thus, began an adventure that has been characterized by party after con after couch surf after party in a slow and meandering journey to the big apple! They have lived in New York for a year, now, and have found the city quite accommodating to their way of life. It's a big place, so people tend to have a hard time finding someone they are angry at.
They have taken on many personas in this time and place, so at this point, some people are mad at them in the city, they are dodging debt and angry exes at any one point in time, but being able to change your appearance has made that a mild nuisance more than anything.

The name of the game was strip poker, and Ash was losing~
"Alright, boys, you've got me cornered, don't you?" Off went the left glove, discarded carelessly on the floor aside a pile of clothes. They were the only one that was missing any clothes. The rest of the rather nicely dressed men in the room were all placing money on the table. A winning smile and a wink, had all of the rest of the players looking at each other and grinning as the cards were played out. Ash-Lee leaned forward, taking a sip of a drink and giving a good shot at the cleavage a well thought out corset showed off brilliantly.
Legs crossed as full lips pouted at an empty drink that prompted of the high rollers to motion toward a waiter. The drink was then replaced in short order. A haze of pink smoke curled about the air as they recieved their cards, more money was put on the table, and the flop was dealt. Ohhhh, the gentlemen didn't like the draw. Take a sip~ lean back, loosen your top a bit. There you go! A few people folded, but the bold man across from Ash who had been staring all night was pretending he wasn't upset with his draw. How cute. A pointed nail fiddled with a necklace that rested on soft pink skin as Ash pretended to consider whether or not it was worth staying in the game. Stay. Oh dear! He raised the bet in response. What ever would Ash do?
"Ohh, I suppose I'll stay in the game, but if I lose, the corset comes off." A gold medal level pout raised a chorus of thrill in all of the men. They called it. The river was dealt. Full house~ Bold man kept a straight face even though his heart wasn't excited about his prospects. He was 20k in at this point, though.
"I think... Oh... can I call, dealer?" The dealer nodded, an an innocent expression folded to the facsimile of relief. Bold man threw in another 20k as a bluff. Ash's eyes widened, and they stared at their cards for a moment. "Oh, well, I guess I'll have to raise, then too. All I have to offer is... My hotel room key." Mr. Expensive suit liked that idea, but it was tempered by the dislike of the odds. To be honest, Ash liked the idea too. Still, business was business.
They flipped cards, and a wide smile was produced. The 50k pot was swept up amid groans and the direct eye contact of the man who had just lost 40 thousand dollars. "Oh, look at the time. Sorry boys, I must be leaving~" They were sad to see their little devil go. Ash left the clothing on the floor, tucking the money into the corset, finishing their drink, and walking by the intense man on the way out to oops a hotel keycard into his pocket.
No need to be sour! This night would be worth 40k.
