The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Henry saw the girl sit beside him. She was younger than him, probably no older than twenty. Her hair and style were in line with a punkish nature, he'd seen plenty like her in prison. Her fingers were tipped with black claws, an obvious mutant. Blatant displays of power denoted confidence, or inexperience at the moment he wasn't sure which.
Profiling. It was a left over habit from the army. As much of a habit as the .45 he had tucked in a back holster in his faded jeans, consealed by his tee shirt. Habit as much as the tactical bag he had strapped to his left leg filled with various types of jerky. Sometimes he forgot he wasn't on the battlefield anymore, or at least the same battlefield.
"So, what brings you here drinking alone?"
He looked over at the girl and took a sip of his whiskey.
"Life. She likes to kick ya when your down kid." He said grumpily.
"Those claws draw attention. In the wrong crowd might be trouble." He noted off handedly.
Nothing said happy anniversary like an empty bar, atall glass of cheap whiskey, and a truckload of self loathing.
Henry sat at the high bar in the run down joint. He was wearing his usual expression which simmered somewhere between "I'll shoot you if you piss me off" and "I'll punch you if you piss me off." He had closed the bakery early, because he owned the place and it was his right to do so, and found the nearest place that served something stronger than coke.
He took another drink of his whiskey and the cold liquid burned going down. He shook his head and noticed he still had a flick of flour on his arm, covering the face of his bear tattoo on his arm. The beasts mixed in a collage of teeth and claws.
Sarah.
It been three years since the divorce, and here he was looking at the anniversary of a wedding that had meant next to nothing. No cake tonight, no smiling daughter and happy housewife. No blonde hair and long legs. Typical.
The usual crowd hadn't appeared in the bar yet and Henry had the place mostly to himself. He downed his glass and tapped a finger on the bar to get the bartenders attention. The man saw and came over to refill his glass.
How many of these had he had already? He let out a huff, not enough yet

Mutations
Mutation description:
Adaptive Genetic Digestion.
The phrase goes you are what you eat. In Henry's case this is quite literal. His mutation causes his body to quickly replicate and utilize any genetic advantages sequenced into the meat of an animal he eats. These evolutionary traits are then able to be used by Henry as his body breaks down the food at an adjusted rate. Seasonings, spices, sauces and the like have no negative effect on this ability, and it only triggers if Henry eats the meat of the animal.
The effect is instantaneous as soon as Henry eats the meat of the animal. Once he has swallowed his body begins changing at a rapid rate.
The effects last for an hour as his body rapidly digests the meat, and consuming a new animal while transformed transfers the change to the most recent animal eaten.
Forms:
Henry's power only allows him to replicate the traits of vertebrates. He is able to replicate traits from both warm blooded and cold blooded animals in the following ways:
Warm Blooded:
Mammals: Eating the meat of a mammal enhances one of his senses dependant upon the species. Henry grows fur Specific to the mammal and if they have claws he obtains those, if it has hooves he grows them in place of his feet. Animals with tails grant Henry a tail. His face becomes a mixture of human and whatever animal he is replicating, and his arms elongate if the animal walks on four legs to allow Henry to run on all fours. If the mammal is lean his muscles elongate, if it it bulky he gains layers of muscles or fat.
Birds: Eating bird meat enhances Henry's sight. His arms become feathered and feathers grow to turn arms into wings. The plumage is of the color and thickness comparable to the bird he ate. His bones become hollow allowing for flight. His legs thin and his feet become razor sharp talons. His nose and mouth become a beak.
Cold Blooded:
Reptiles: Reptile meat covers Henry in a tough hide and scales of a thickness and density proportional to the reptile. This armor is tough enough to stop knives and small caliber bullets. His jaw elongated, and his teeth become fangs that are poisonous dependant upon the animal eaten. His jaw is able to unhinge and hos tongue becomes forked. His eyes become reptilian and his nose turns into slits. Snakes allow his muscles to become elastic and malleable while lizards allow him to regrow lost limbs. He grows a tail if the reptile has one.
Amphibions: the only amphibions Henry eats are frogs. Eating frogs give him webbed hands and feet that can adhere to surfaces. His skin becomes slimey and smooth. His tongue becomes incredibly long and controllable. Finally he gains immunity to a number of toxins.
Fish: fish meat grants Henry gills and eyes adapt for underwater sight. His arms become webbed and his feet gain fins. His body is able to swim at incredible speeds.
The transformation also effects Henry's mind. He becomes more feral and aggressive while transformed and is known to become territorial and voilent. He is still able to think ad a human but the animalistic instinct within him is augmented and he must fight against it to remain in control.
Strengths:
Versatile and multifaceted. His years in the army helped him adapt numerous uses for his power. Able to switch between forms quickly to utilize abilities since his power changes form to replicate most recent meat eaten.
Mammal: claws and fangs for offense. Thick fur for defense. Heightened senses for tracking.
Birds: flight and speed, agile.
Reptiles: scales provide armor and claws and fangs create weapons. Durability and regenerative capabilites.
Amphibions: tongue for trapping and webbed feet allow for increased mobility
Fish: aquatic maneuverability.
Weaknesses and Limitations
Must have meat of the animal he wishes to replicate. Only lasts an hour at a time.
Mammal: heightened senses make him susceptible to strong scents, loud noises, or flashes of light. Fur makes him prone to overheating.
Bird: bones are lighter and therefore more fragile. Loss of dexterity with fingers due to wings. Rapid heartbeat is a hazard for cardiac attack.
Reptile- sight is compromised in exchange for scent. Susceptible to cold which causes severe pain.
Amphibions: require moisture to keep skin from drying out and cracking
Fish: gills replace lungs limiting him to the water. Out of water he can't breath.
Physical Abilities
General Physical Capabilities: Peak condition for a man in his thirties.

Henry donned his apron and flipped the little sign outside "Torta de Turner" to open. He went to the counter and sipped his coffee thoughtfully. Business was slow, it always was, but he found comfort in his father's business. Maybe it was the routine, waking up at two am to go to work and start making treats for the day was a constant schedule, like PT in the army.
His first customer entered and ordered a slice of the red velvet cake with an iced coffee. Henry obliged. Perhaps there was something to honest work, it sure beat his time scheming in Allys about the next big job. His bonuses and salary from the army meant he wasn't too worried about money and he felt the slightest twitch of a smile cross his face.
Right up until the customer came back to the counter.
"This cake is too hard. What has it been out all night?" He said annoyed.
Henry looked at the cake he had baked just that morning, at the cake he knew was fine. He felt his temper rising as he looked at the man. Glasses, button up shirts, snobby nose. This was going to be great.
"I made it this morning. Would you like another piece?" Henry said through gritted teeth.
"No. I don't want disgusting cake I want a refund." The customer spat back.
"Sir. You've already eaten half. I can't just give a-" Henry began.
The man interupted him, bad call.
"Do you know who I am? I have hundreds of followers online. One message from me and you will find yourself out of business. I want-"
The early morning commuters were startled this particular day as they saw a scrawny man being hurled out of a bakery on 12th Street and into a trashcan on the corner. The skinny man attempted to yell at the Baker, but was met with a slamming door and a sign flipping over to closed.
