The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Hearing a squeak above him and light shining through onto his face, Markus awoke from his deep sleep. above he saw a figure that was obscured by his not yet adjusted eyes. He then saw a rope ladder fall from above and the figure motion for him to climb up. "God?" Markus said gently as his question was met with a raspy chuckle. It was the old man, he recognized the laugh, he had only heard it once but that was enough to make it familiar with ones ears.
"Done crying? Hahaha!" The old man spoke as Markus remembered the night he had spent in the hole like structure and even now realized that it was night when he had threw his little tantrum. Markus felt embarrassed, but the feeling faded and was soon filled with anger towards the old man. "Who the hell are you!?" He shouted, but then felt something prod at his back. It was the boy poking at Markus's back with the pistol again. "Ngồi xuống!" He shouted as the old man would begin to translate for Markus. "Sit down American boy, haha." He spoke chuckling a bit.
"Why was I put in there?" Markus asked as he sat down across from the man at the same table and pointed at the trap door that was now closed, as the boy stood behind him with the gun still pointed at Markus. The old man then gave a solemn smile to the boy and motioned with his hand to leave the hut which he did without haste. "That was to hide you my boy, good thing you shut up too, the Vietcong were patrolling near here and if they would of seen you they would of killed you...or worse." The old man spoke as his joking tone was lost.
"But as to why you are here, well I would of let you hide here for now, but my grandchildren will not let you leave for a specific reason. You see, I am dying, and they think you can help me, but I know you are no medic, but they insisted." The old man looked at his hands as he spoke to Markus. "I'm...sorry, I'd get my medic to help you but he wa..." "No need, even if he was here it is already too late, I can tell." Markus then looked at the ground for a moment with a saddened look on his face as he scrapped off some of the dirt that was still on his hands from when he had fallen and he suddenly noticed rice embedded with it, only two or three pieces.
"Hahaha!" The old man chuckled suddenly out of no where and then began to cough and then continue laughing. "What?" Markus asked. "You thought I was god! I just remembered." Markus sneered at the old man's suddenness and interrupted a few seconds later and asked "How can you speak English?" "I learned it, silly American, hahaha! A simple answer for a simple question, however if you want to know why I learned it, it was when I was younger and wanted to go to America." The old man's reply somewhat angered Markus but dislodged him from the situation of things. "Well I think I will take my leave..." Markus stood up from the table to only be met by the gaze of a brunette Vietnamese girl with green eyes and skin that shined like the moon.
"Ông tại sao cậu ta không giúp bạn?Tôi có cần phải đe dọa ông ..." She began to speak and grab Markus by the collar of his fatigues as she pulled a large knife from her side and held it close to his neck. "Leave him be! Dừng lại!" The old man spoke as he coughed and held his one hand to his mouth and motioned the other at the girl. Releasing Markus, she dropped the knife and ran into her Granfathers arms and began to cry. "Now now shhhh, Bạn là ổn Ai." He hugged her and spoke as she spoke to him with a muffled voice that Markus could not hear. Markus motioned to step out to the Oldman and he nodded so Markus preceded.
Outside he was once more met with a gun pointed at him by the boy who was now wearing the girls rice hat. "Please...this isn't the time." The boy just stared blankly at him and held the gun pointed at the same place it was when Markus walked out. He then heard shouting from inside the house and then the girl with her eyes wet and red from crying but now her mood transformed by anger, burst out from the hut and pushed Markus down in the dirt. "Nếu bạn có thể tiết kiệm ông nội của tôi sau đó bạn sẽ đến một cái gì đó khác bạn vô dụng Mỹ!" She then threw a tool of some sort at Markus's feet from a burlap sack she had on her side that he did not notice until now. "Start farming!" She spoke almost perfect English.
"What? I...I don't know how rice farming works!" By the time Markus had said this reply the girl had already turned around and headed inside the hut once more. It appeared she didn't hear him or that sentence was the only extent of her knowledge of English. Still confused though, he took the tool she had thrown to the ground next to him in hand and tried to understand how it should be used. It was obviously a spade of some sort that looked covered in dried on dirt and dulled from use.
Markus then looked out into the fields that lay behind him. He stood up to see that the girl had began to plant some rice in the fields but noticed that it was a very meager portion compared to the size of the terraces that still needed to be filled. The boy who had now lowered his gun had pointed out where the rice plants were to be planted and where the seeds themselves were. He saw in the distance a wagon that had two drums of seeds in it and began to proceed towards it, knowing that he might as well start, but just then he heard the sound of something familiar humming violently in the skies above, it was an F-4 Phantom, and he knew exactly it was doing here.
Markus turned around and ran at the boy who held the gun at Markus now and at the sight of his stampede huddled down and began to scream and cover his face with his hands which still gripped the gun. Bewildered, he thought nothing of it and quickly retrieved the boy as he weaved his arm through the boys turtle like stance, pick him up by his waist and made a mad dash for the hut. The boys scream had drawn the Vietnamese girl to the huts door just in time for Markus to tackle her to the ground with the boy in tow as they all clattered to the ground in a matter of seconds.
"What the hell is going on?" The old man was behind the table as usual as the girl began to scream due to Markus's combined weight with the boy was crushing her. "Nhận ra!" She screamed but Markus ignored it all as he would yell "Stay down!" The humming overhead now was a roaring scream that lasted for half a second as in the same amount of time the terraces and rice that was already planted had been lit up in an inferno of gigantic proportions. It was napalm, and it had scorched almost everything, even parts of the surrounding jungle and plant life had been engulfed and began to spread. The only thing that looked untouched was the large wooden wagon with the seed barrels in it.
The captors that had held Markus there were now all in awe of what had just happened, the girl however was only shocked for a moment until realizing that the napalm could reach the barrels needed for their plantation. She began to scream even more frantically as Markus soon coerced by her panic, removed himself and let her begin her sprint upward and out of the hut. "Ai no! Lấy lại ở đây!" The old man switched between English and Vietnamese by accident, but his worry for the girl was immeasurable as he got up from the table and smashed against it while also pushing it aside. In his attempts to pursue her, he had seemed to strain himself as he began to cough violently and hunch himself over.
