The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"PUTO, I'D LIKE TO SEE YOU TRY!!!!!!!!!"
Iara yelled out in a fierce tone as her ginga started up again. She was intensely pissed off and the last thing she desired was for some guy to try and "discipline" her.
Her eyes turned a steely grey as she waited for him to approach.

She seemed to calm down and run her fingers through her hair as she cowered in a corner but suddenly she stood and flipped him/them off with both hands as she screamed the most explicit words she could imagine at the top of her lungs.

Iris clenched her teeth. Because of the ice, not only did she hear every word Iara was screaming, it echoed in her ears, threatening to deafen her. That, combined with the pain that was steadily increasing, no matter how much the ice tried to numb it away, was making her near suicidal.
Finally, despite the pain, she reached up with one arm and began firing miniature ice 'bullets' at the nearest wall. From the echo, whatever she'd hit was made of plastic or glass.
"Shut up already!" she yelled. "Some of us are trying to die in peace over here!" She wasn't totally joking either.

Hearing the comotion through the doors, Kaz went to check it out. As he entered the holding area, he saw Abyss with his clones out, a woman newly put in a cell where Abyss was standing. Her screaming was becoming increasingly aggitating. Moving to Abyss, "What are you doing? Why haven't you just KO'd her yet?" After dropping Iris off, he had spent the time to look up some of the safety features the cells had. "Take this and read it when you get the chance." He tossed Abyss a booklet before moving to the girl's cell. "Say goodnight you annoying..." Without finishing his sentence he presed a few buttons on the keypad. The cell was filled with a gas, moments later she lay flat sleeping. The gas was removed from the cell with a few more keystrokes.
Moving to Iris' cell he knocked on it as he looked inside and saw the pills and water still untouched. Sighing he opened the door and picked the objects up. "Iris, I know you're awake. I wasn't joking about the pills and the pain. I've only seen two people live without taking the pills, myself included. Right now the paralys is slowling shutting down your internal organs, and the sedative is begining to shut down your higher and lower brain functions. That includes regulating heat. So not only will you feel immense pain, but you will feel like you're on fire, you'll have a temp near 120 degrees before you die." He broke the ice around her and sat her up against the wall, handing the pills and water to her, "Take them or don't, it really is your choice. Risk your life or insure that you'll live for at least another day." Standing he walked out of the cell and shut the door locking it tight. He looked in at her to see what she'd do, his arms crossed on his chest.

Iris didn't bother to answer the first one who walked by, or even to open her eyes. The way she was feeling escape was the last thing on her mind. She simply wanted it to be quiet.
Unfortunatly that wasn't meant to be either. She recognized the second voice immediately. She kept her eyes closed as he explained what was happening to her, fully intending to ignore him. Apparently he had other ideas. She couldn't suppress a small cry when he sat her upright. She opened her eyes and glared tearfully at him. She remembered what Iara was screaming, and wondered if she could repeat it.
He left, but didn't leave her alone as she'd hoped, instead simply watching her, and for a moment she simply glared steadily back at him.
"What will these do to me? Besides keeping me alive?" She asked through clenched teeth.

He wasn't surprised when Iris glared at him and didn't take the pills. A heavy sigh escaped his lips, before he could respond to Iris' questions, Abyss spoke. Pressing a button on the keypad, he made sure Iris couldn't hear him, he also made the door solid so she couldn't see what he was saying either. Turning to Abyss, "It's a manual Abyss, might be a good idea to read it since we'll be keeping these people here for a bit. Better safe than sorry. It'll make our lives that much easier." Glancing back at the cell door, then back at Abyss. "I may not give a crap about humans, or most mutants for that matter, but any mutant who gives it their all in a fight, I respect." Looking at Iara, who lay knocked out, "You can tell by the small burn mark on her neck and the smell of singed flesh and hair that she didn't put up a fight, shes not deserving of respect," Looking at Sentinel, "Neither does he. He may have put up a good fight against you, as is apparent by your wounds, but he's acting like a scared human. Not worthy of the X gene he carries in his DNA." Pausing, "She gave her all, I pushed her to her limit, and if possible, I'd like to have a rematch with her sometime in the future." Smirking as he turns from Abyss, "Besides, I've only seen the effects of the drugs I gave her on one other person. I was the second person to endure them. I'd like to see how someone else reacts to the second half of the drugs." Twisting his head to look at Abyss over his shoulder, "Can't very well see all the reactions while they're asleep can you?"
Returning the door to its normal transparent form, he let the sound come through again. "I haven't lied to you yet Iris. The pills will counter act the paralys and sedative. What I gave you before were emergency doses that don't have a," Pausing to search for the word, but failing to find the right one, it showed on his face, "Stopper, and end point so to speak. They keep going until they can't anylonger, meaning the person is dead. The pills neutralize and stop the chemicals. Your body functions will return to normal soon enough. Like I said, take them or don't. Live or die. Your choice. I've tried it on myself so I know exactly what you're going through, if not moreso." He stood standing in front of the door as he waited for her responce.
The sudden noise from the cell next to his made him jump. He was out of it though. The drugs Abyss had given him were slowly worjking their way through his system. He was finding it hard to concentrate even more, and as the screeming went on, he slowely had to stumble to the padded flooring in the corner.
Stumbling onto the ground and against the wall, he watched as the "guards" moved around and talked. Apparently they were talking to Iris now, but Nail couldn't make sense of noise anymore. He was lucky. He was slowely fading unconscious, while Iris was in blistering pain. Lose were his lasts thoughts as his eyes finally fell shut under their own weight. He hoped he would waje up back in the hotel...
Dammit... he paid for that hotel and never used it...

Iris didn't completely believe Kaz. Why would he give her a killer set of drugs, then something that would turn around and counter it without a problem? Whatever the pills were, they were going to do something else to her. She searched his face for any kind of expression, any kind of clue as to what.
Nothing. Nothing she could see, anyway.
She suppressed a shiver as a cold trickle went down her neck and back. Her ice wasn't holding shape anymore, melting instead from her body heat.
She glanced at the big guy standing next to him, then at the pills, then back at Kaz. Slowly, without shifting her gaze, she put them in her mouth and swallowed. She emptied the water bottle and set it down. She crossed her arms.
After getting back to KP Syn got out of the van and lead the two men who carried Mettaliar. They got in the elevator and Syn pushed the button that would take them to the holding cells. Once they reach the floor and headed to the cells Syn saw her brother and Kaz along with several captives in their cells. "Looks like we are doing pretty good. I just got my second one right here." She pointed to the KO'd Mettaliar as the men layed him in one of the empty cells and closed it. "So what have you boys been up to?"
Looking into the cells with the other captives Syn smiled as she saw the now KO'd girl she had shocked earlier. "Looks like we're getting a good bunch. I'm not sure if this one is a mutant or not but I was figuring along the same lines as you were. Besides if he is a mustant then it'll be fun to see what he does." Syn looked up at her big brother at his last comment. "I know and we will talk as soon as we get the chance."

Kaz listened to Abyss talk about the captives, he nodded as the man spoke. "You have valid points. Though the one loud girl over there cowered and then exploded like an animal. Again, not worthy of a mutant. If the guy there has potential, perhaps after all of the testing, if he's still usable, we can bring him around to our side." Shrugging dismissivly about the conversation, his attention still on Iris. Though Abyss' comment about humans made him smirk rather wickedly.
When Abyss spoke to Iris in responce to her question, something about what he said and his tone got to Kaz. Kaz glared at Abyss out of the corner of his eye, then caught himself and stopped. Shaking his head slightly as he tried to figure out why he reacted the way he just had, when everything Abyss said was true. Maybe he felt Abyss was intruding on his game, on his test, his experiment. Everything he had done and said to Iris had been thought through. When he spoke to Abyss, he made it so she couldn't see or hear what they said. He didn't get it himself. Deciding to answer Iris himself, "Now, you wait." Turning his head as Syn entered the area, "Wait 30 to 45 minutes. You'll begin to feel all of the effects dull away and subside. Before that, you'll feel an immence jump in pain for about five minutes. It'll probably destort your sense of time. To feel more like hours than minutes. After that, you'll barely be able to move or keep your eyes open. There will be water in your cell by that time. Drink it, then sleep." With that, he made the door opaque and sound proof again.
Turning fully to face Syn, "So I guess that means you brought the feisty bich in." He laughed. "Girl wouldn't shut up, had to gas her." Breathing in through his nose, he smelled something familiar, "Used a taser again didn't you. Burned hair and skin is unmistakeable." Stepping aside to let the two men put the new captive in the cell, "Not doing to much, have a decen't sparring match with the one in the cell there." He inclined toward Iris' cell, "And read up on the working and features of the cells and their controls. Thought it might come in handy."
Syn smiled when he heard Kaz's description of the girl laying still in one of the cells. "You bet I did. Got her good too. She doesn't even know if it was me that did it." She then looked to the other girl. She seemed to be very uncomfortable. "What's wrong with her Kaz? What did you do? You know if you kill her Mr. King isn't going to like that."

"Hmmm? Oh her. I didn't really do much, just gave her some sedatives and a paralys I keep in my chest at the Sanctuary. I don't use them often. I didn't want her waking up or moving. She's got an interesting ability. She decimated part of the park, and busted my lip." Laughing a bit as he bit lightly where his lip had split. "Right now, shes slowly dying. She would die if she hadn't taken those pills." Shrugging, "If she refused to take'em, I would have put her out like I did the bich, and shoved them down her throat." Making a dismissive 'eh' he continued, "She'll be fine in an hour, but she'll be really groggy, and won't be able to move much, even drinking will be a difficult task. No worry Syn."
Syn turned as she heard a different voice. It was the man from the lobby when she first arrived at Santuary. He was all bloody and very intense from what she could recall. "Which captive are you refering to Kaine. We have several."
