The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Daria relaxed completely, all her tension seeping out from some unknown orifice so that she was lost in his kiss. She put her srms around him, pulled back and looked him in the eyes.
"This is really nice, Mike, you did good." she complimented.
"Well, I have good motivation. You deserve the best... I can't deliver anything short, or else I have to keep trying," he grinned, brushing his fingers over the back of her neck. "This has been a rough weekend... I think we deserved some real time to unwind."

Daria grinned.
"Unwind huh? Thats good because then my mind is clear enoguh to tell you that I don't have words to describe anything close to what you make me feel. I think you're amazing, and if anyone deserves the best its you."
"And I have the best right here," he said, his smile getting a little loopy as he watched her. "I can honestly say I can't picture myself with anyone else. I don't WANT to picture myself with anyone else. No one makes me feel like you do, and I don't think anyone can."
Mike grinned. "Then don't talk," he said quietly, leaning in and kissing her again. The chipmunks chased each other past them again, this time one of them running into Mike's foot.
"I'd say that we could call them Kitty and Sarah for their hyperactiveness, but I'm fairly sure one of them is a boy."

Daria laughed. "They're so adorable! Squirrels were the first things i ever drew, and then chipmunks. If you ever want to figure out how to capture motion cute rodents are the way."
She scooted closer to Mike, fighting the odd urge to chase the chip munks as they resumed their chase around the blanket. "You'd think it was spring" she laughed.
"Spring, summer, winter... love's in the air all year round," he said, grinning. "And actually, there's more in winter than in spring. People feel too busy and caught up in things the rest of the year."

Daria frowned. "I actually never thought about it..but that makes since. I guess we kinda just go along with the phrase." she sighed and closed her eyes slightly, not out of a desire to sleep just to hold the scene and store it in her memory.
"It's quieter then. Like at night... everyone's more honest at night, for good and for bad."
"I think it's the moonlight. You have to be honest in the moonlight," he said, leaning back and pulling her with him, his eyes closing as well. After all, he recalled, it had been nighttime when they'd first kissed. You can't hide things in the right setting.

"Do you just sit and think about this stuff?" she asked, turning over to lay her head on his chest. The sound of his heart beating was always so comforting to her. "I mean, that type of insight can't be blamed on you powers, can it?" she smiled and poked him in the nose playfully.
He grinned. "I've had a lot of time to think about it. When you have a mind that can feel things happening for a few city blocks around you at a time when you spend almost all your time alone in your room, you don't have much to do but think." He shrugged, grinning "The problem with deep thinking is that you usually don't have a chance to use it."

A sad smile slid onto Daria's face. She hated the fact that such a great guy had to go through so much. She thought about the time she had drawn him floating the little children beneath the tree that afternoon they had been looking for Tricity. He was just so good inside.
Her ears rocked back and forth while she thought about him, and her tail waved as well.
Mike smiled up at Daria, obviously knowing what she was thinking, but leaving her to her thoughts. In truth, whether it was the case or not, Mike tended to think she'd been through more than he had, and it absolutely broke his heart to think about that. She was one of the most caring people he knew, and so good at heart that sometimes it made him feel ashamed of himself.
Sighing happily, he toyed with her tail, lightly running it through his fingers, smothing the fur on it.

Daria purred.
"So..I've been giving this superhero X man thing some thought. And I've decided to track Tricity down and tell her I'm in. I feel like i have some thing to protect now." She said meaningfully, propping herself up on her elbows and turning on her stomach.
