The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>> ""The Amazons don't worry me, even if they did see me some of them might know me... Too many of us can create basic materials for them to be of huge value unless they're human."
It was nice to know that Seyta was not a liability if the girls did run into amazons. Rebecca had no real history with the organization and they were fine leaving a wanderer to wander, so Rebecca had no reason to change that dynamic. She did understand Seyta's desire to find something of worth for herself, so they would go about different plans.
>> "The kind of things I look for are more easily found off the beaten path and involve a bit more risk. No, what I'm after is things you find outside the controlled areas of the Amazons or The township. Out in the wastes, or even near the hive towers."
Rebecca had wandered the wastes to some extent, but she kept those journeys brief when she could. She did not trust people anyway, but the wastes held the most unsavory characters left in the world. If it was Seyta's desire, Rebecca would certainly go along as well.
It was the second thing she mentioned that intrigued Rebecca. She hushed her voice to match Seyta's own. "Hive towers? Ah'm not really sure Ah know much about those... care to share?" She was unfamiliar with the place in question, but the name gave her a hint to what it was, and if she was right, she certainly had a new destination in mind.
>> "Hive towers? Ah'm not really sure Ah know much about those... care to share?"
Seyta had seen the towers once, several months ago, other than that all she knew was rumor. "Well, I can't say much, but it's dangerous to get too close. I've seen them once from a safe distance and I could still hear the buzzing. Most what I can say is from rumors but I supposedly they were built by some mutant with an army of bugs that makes Roach and his security look pathetic." Seyta gazed towards the approaching dock and stood up to stretch."Rumors also say the hives don't like anyone getting to close, so the area around it is still untouched by scavengers like us. I think we might be able to grab an arm load or two before we have to make a run for it."
Turning to face Rebecca she grinned slightly and shrugged somewhat indifferent to the idea. Even if they didn't go towards the hives they could still search the less welcoming places and get some good trading items if they made it back alive.

>> "Well, I can't say much, but it's dangerous to get too close. I've seen them once from a safe distance and I could still hear the buzzing... I think we might be able to grab an arm load or two before we have to make a run for it."
There was no way these towers did not house Agnes. An army of bugs that attacked invaders? Rebecca was already disappointed in herself for not spending more time traversing the wastes; it would figure the one person she was subconsciously looking for was on the one place she was subconsciously avoiding.
Seyta wanted to get close to the Towers where the two could scavenge for untouched treasures. The plan was just fine to Rebecca... it would give her a chance to get a good look at the towers and get a better idea of what it would take to arrange a touching reunion with her ex. "That sounds perfect tae me. Ah'm a fan of high risk, high reward. You'll lead the way?" Rebecca's pillars had reentered her field-vision, which meant the ferry was quickly approaching land.
>> "That sounds perfect tae me. Ah'm a fan of high risk, high reward. You'll lead the way?"
Seyta followed her gave to the metal pillars and nodded, those where probably Rebecca's given the glance and description of her mutation. Looping an arm through Rebecca's Seyta turned towards the exit ramp on the ferry and waited. "Towers are near on of the old parks, not central park. A bit farther than that place."
She thought for a moment trying to figure out a plan or strategy of how they would pull this off. As the ferry bumped against the dock Seyta moved to keep with the crowd. "Like I said before... Most of what I know is rumor only. Once we get closer to the towers we need to find someone to give us some real info and plan what we are going to do."

>> "Towers are near on of the old parks, not central park. A bit farther than that place."
Regardless of how far they traveled together from that point, Seyta had already proven her usefulness to Rebecca. The vengeful ex would scour parks around New York if she had to until the sight of hive towers came into vision.
>> "Like I said before... Most of what I know is rumor only. Once we get closer to the towers we need to find someone to give us some real info and plan what we are going to do."
Rebecca tightened her grip on Seyta's waist as they got up to walk away from the ferry and onto the dock. "Ah'm sure when we get over there, two resourceful young women like ourselves will come up with a plan." Ah'll find the towers, hit you over the head with a large metal thing, then kill Agnes. Simple, solid plan.
Once they were on the dock, Rebecca pointed to a few pillars in the distance, just within sight. "There are mah pillars." Rebecca was not a fan of walking by foot unless she was protected by her monolithic guardians, so she pulled Seyta close. "Ah'd hang on tight." Seyta was not too much extra weight, so Rebecca lifted them both off the ground, cringing at the pain of lifting the bolts and rods in her body, but at least they were in the air, and the pain was nothing new.
>> "Ah'm sure when we get over there, two resourceful young women like ourselves will come up with a plan."
Seyta nodded as they moved to the docks and finally broke from the crowd. Noticing the group of metal pillars she tilted her head slightly trying to figure out what they where for.
>> "There are mah pillars. Ah'd hang on tight."
Seyta was not exactly sure what to expect and so she tightly hugged Becca as they where lifted of the ground. after a few moments she relaxed slightly but the whole experience was still frightening. "Well, I suppose this will make getting there a bit easier and faster..." Glancing in the general direction of the hive towers She pointed. "That way, a few miles."
Seyts wasn't sure exactly what the plan might be but her personal backup plan was a tried and true method. If things went wrong distract the other person and disappear. If Rebecca was strong enough, she would survive, if not it wasn't Seyta's problem.

>> "Well, I suppose this will make getting there a bit easier and faster... That way, a few miles."
Rebecca lowered them, touching down on the soft sandy ground where her metal structures were waiting for her. She shook her head at Seyta's assumption, especially considering how much the other woman tensed up in the air. "Relax, Ah jist wanted tae get to my pillars. We can walk now, land-lover," she teased.
Instincts told Rebecca to remove her arm from Seyta's waist, but she looked at the area where they were physically touching. "It'll be inconvenient if we have tae walk like this the whole way. If Ah let gae, Ah wornt forget you're here, right? Jist wornt be able tae see you?" If they had to, she could always just walk with Seyta either holding her hand, or she would just trust Seyta did not just run off when Rebecca could not see.
>> "Relax, Ah jist wanted tae get to my pillars. We can walk now, land-lover,"
Seyta rolled her eyes at the comment. Even around here it was expected to at least warn someone before levitating them of the ground if you weren't fighting them.
>> "It'll be inconvenient if we have tae walk like this the whole way. If Ah let gae, Ah wornt forget you're here, right? Jist wornt be able tae see you?"
"Um, kinda depends. As long as you are paying attention to me you will be fine. Though if you do loose me I'll be sure to remind you I'm here." She grinned and turned in the direction of the hive towers. It was going to be quite a walk if Becca couldn't keep Seyta in her head, but since she had found Seyta easily enough things might go pretty well.

With some reassurance that she would not just forget about Seyta, Rebecca slid her arm away from Seyta's waist. It was a bizarre feeling once contact was officially broken. Rebecca knew Seyta was there with her, but it was hard to convince her eyes of that fact. It was almost like Rebecca's mind was focusing on keeping Seyta just in the periphery of her vision.
The girl took her spot in the center of the pillars and closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. At once, the large metal columns lifted themselves out of the sand until they were floating around her to her Northeast, Southeast, Northwest and Southwest.
Rebecca turned around to the area she vaguely knew Seyta occupied. She could sense Seyta's knife at her waist, so she held out a hand to place on Seyta's shoulder. She ended up being close, placing the hand on the blonde's chest. "Um, sorry," she muttered, moving the hand upward and maintaining contact.
She fished a small necklace from her pouch; jewelry was a mediocre trade item since only the shallow or well-off asked for it, but Rebecca kept most metal things with her regardless. She fixed the piece around Seyta's neck. "Hope you dornt mind; this'll jist make you easier tae not lose." With that out of the way, she gestured in the direction Seyta mentioned. "Shall we?"
The walking was... rather quiet for a while. They were too strangers after all, and it appeared that neither had a reputation for being "chatty." In an attempt to fill the silence, Rebecca asked, "So how daes a pretty woman like you end up in the pit?"
Seyta waited as Rebecca maneuvered her pillars before going through the same confused expression as everyone else when they didn't find her. Becca had a grasp on the situation though and moved towards seyta and finally did make some awkward contact. A fumbled apology and a necklace later they were ready to move on.
To any bystanders the pair would look odd, well a few years ago they might have but not so much anymore. Even so I red head with floating metal pillars around her and someone that could occasionally be seen under a grey tarp walking together didn't fit the normal outward appearance of traveling buddy's.
>> "So how daes a pretty woman like you end up in the pit?"
The break in silence made Seyta jump slightly. "Um, well... It really goes back to the big bang that started all this. First thing I did was try to get home actually, but i couldn't get out of New York until well after the bombs stopped. Not much left In Salem by then." She sighed thinking back over the last few years of her life. "After that I made my way back here and struggled to keep myself alive without being locked into any one gang. The pit is something more recent. I volunteered to be a fighter, learning how to kill someone is pretty easy anyway, and I have an unnatural advantage.."

>> "Um, well... It really goes back to the big bang that started all this... The pit is something more recent. I volunteered to be a fighter, learning how to kill someone is pretty easy anyway, and I have an unnatural advantage.."
Her story started the same way many stories did after the bang. It was common for many people to make an initial trip home, even if it was just to find the evidence that they had no home left to return to. "Ah can sympathize. My family was in Scotland." It was impossible for her to visit her childhood home, but eventually she heard whispers of "what happened to Europe." They were never good.
The motivations that brought Seyta to The Pit were relatable as well; striving for freedom and not being bound to one group. "Ah understand. Ah dae what Ah can tae pull my wait and... provide some use for myself when Ah need the aid of gangs." If it were her option, she would avoid groups entirely, but logic forced her hand; sometimes being alone was just not ideal.
"My last ex left me with 'trust issues' Ah guess," Rebecca confessed, her eyes locked in the direction Seyta told her the hive towers were located.
>> "Ah understand. Ah dae what Ah can tae pull my wait and... provide some use for myself when Ah need the aid of gangs. My last ex left me with 'trust issues' Ah guess."
Trust issues, those where common nowadays. Hell they were always common, though Seyta never dealt with trust much. For her it was really about personal attention. "Heh, well glad to see you can trust me enough for this little trip."
"Never had anyone special to break my heart. Six dates in my life, all ended with me going home alone." She frowned, her last date had been with David, nice British guy who lost her at the curb on the way to get bagels and coffee.
Seyta glances at Rebecca, tring to think of a less depressing topic to pass the time with. "You said you're from Scotland? What was it like there, before the world ended..."

>> "Never had anyone special to break my heart. Six dates in my life, all ended with me going home alone."
The idea that Seyta's romantic history was so short and uneventful was disappointing. Rebecca waited over nineteen years before she entered the dating scene, but she at least found some success. She was not born with the handicap of existing as a blind spot in the world. "It's a shame someone as cute as you shoulds go unnoticed."
Rebecca paused, reassessing her sentence with Seyta's mutation in mind. "That was a terrible joke, and Ah'm sorry."
>> "You said you're from Scotland? What was it like there, before the world ended..."
What was her home like? Rebecca's eyes faded to a distant place; one that was happier, but still filled with so much pain because it was now eternally out of her reach. "It was beautiful. Ah lived in a small town-- a village, really. It was quiet, and it was so green and speckled with flowers. So peaceful compared tae New York. There was even this amazing pond, where at night you coulds always see a sky filled with stars. Ah remember going there th' last time Ah visited wi'..."
The last time she visited her home was with Agnes. The look of longing and nostalgia vanished from her face. "It's gone now, though, sae there's nae much point in reminiscing."
They were officially entering the wastes now, and she knew she was approaching the one place in the world she had business anymore. "Let's jist focus on getting tae those towers." Rebecca had a reunion to look forward to.
Rebecca's description of her home made Seyta smile slightly. Salem was never anywhere near that peaceful. There had always been too many tourists.
>> "...It's gone now, though, sae there's nae much point in reminiscing. Let's jist focus on getting tae those towers."
Seyta nodded looking forward. It would still be a bit before they reached the towers, but you could see them from here with a squint. "Well, let's keep walking then.
