The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Hunter had been busy, but not so busy as to miss an oppertunity to meet with Rushak, Ex CIA director. Nigel had heard a lot about her, and after a little digging Hunter had learned a lot more. The more he discovered the more he liked the woman, and the more he felt she would be a most useful asset.
Unlike Rushak Hunter had no body guards with him. He pulled up in his Bugatti Varon, tossed the keys to a valet and headed inside. Hunter rarely visited this perticular resteraunt, prefering the Noir. However, he could understand the woman's desire to meet on neutral ground.
Hunter quickly located the Rushak, and swept past the doorman before a word could be said. The bodyguards moved to intercept him as he approached, but a glance had them standing aside as Hunter took his seat. "So nice to finall meet you Ms Rushak," he said with a smile as a waiter came and offered him a menu.
Hunter quickly made his order and handed the waiter back the menu. "Indeed I am," said Hunter with a warm smile to Rushak's question, "Both innate and learned. I, as most wealthy buisnessmen probably do, often have to work outside the law to get what it is I desire. To that end I have gather a group of gifted individuals to help facilitate me in such endevours."
The waiter brought Hunter his order and Hunter cut a succulent piece of veal before continuing, "You have not only unique innate talents, but a wealth of experiance which I can make use of. So what I am offering you is a position within my organisation with a substantial pay check and the need for complete secrecy." Hunter took a bite and chewed, waiting for Rushak's answer.
"I think I see what you're looking for," Hunter said with a smile, "What would you say to acting as a sort of internal police, amoungst other things. It always pays to have someone watching the hired help. Of course I have no doubt that there will be other situations in which your unique combination of skills will become invaluable, but largely just having you keep an eye on those who work for me will be sufficient."
Hunter hadn't missed the change in voice. The woman was a skilled wordsmith, and locking verbal swords with her would be a challenge for any normal person. Hunter however and verbally dueled with the best from across four centuries, and compared to him this woman was an amature. However, he went through the motions and worded his responce and used his voice as if to show that Rushak had a slight upper hand in this verbal sparring match.
It always helped to leave people thinking they had the edge over you.
"Right now," Hunter said with a smile as he finished his meal, "I have an initial assignment for you, something of a trial run. I have an informant who I believe may be going to the police with the same information he brings me, something I specifically asked him not to do. How would you feel about paying the man a visit?"
Pulling an envelope out of his pocket he slid it across the table. Inside was all the detail Rushak should requier on the informant, one Joe Marquez. 5'10", Latin American with a goatee, short black hair and a tatoo of a cross on his upper right arm. He lived in one of New York's slums, a gangland area. Hunter knew for a fact that the man squealed to the cops as well as him, but this would be a perfect test. How Rushak dealt with the rat bastard was entierly up to her, but Hunter fealt that she'd have a good idea of what to do.
Hunter watched the woman leave, dismissing the bodyguards. She intended to deal with this one personally it seemed. He didn't miss her palming a spoon, obviously she intended to be creative in her dealings. Taking the phone he slipped it into his pocket and sat back to finish his wine. Five minutes after Rushak had left Hunter rose and lfet, after paying his contribution. The place was growing on Hunter, perhaps he'd buy it.
(OOC: I'll start a thread for you to "deal with Joe in and RP him. Hope you have fun )
