The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>> "In the end, though... we all compete for resources, here... I have carved a niche, yes, I want more for my family... Unfortunately, that means less for some of those other groups."
Seyta nodded at the word family. Roach was, is a sadistically twisted way, kind to those who worked for him. As long as they were useful to him.
>> "The sheath will be easy; Aura recently mercilessly slaughtered a cow she'd spent insane resources on all to make a spectacle in the pit; it was hilarious. I can have someone craft a bit of leather for you. The whet stone... that will take a little more time, if you want a proper one."
She could stand to wait a bit, the knife was still in good condition. The extra time would give her a chance to find someone who could tell her how to use a whet stone in the first place. "That works for me. The knife is still plenty sharp. I would like the sheath ASAP though."
So, Seyta was now officially part of Roaches personal army. As of right then she didn't know about any other members. A good way to earn answers was to be trusted. Roach mentioned trust when they started this deal. "I would like to know who I'll be working with, asuming there are other people on the roster already. Also, I'm sure you know I like to go out now and then so a few days warning before you need me will help with communication." Moving slowly she pulled the Ka-bar from her belt and placed it on the table. Sliding it to the side she reached out a hand and smiled quoting one of his earlier statements back to him. "What is a family without trust?"
Oh, good. She'd been reeled in quick enough, hadn't she? It seemed she like she wasn't going to take much convincing at all; all he needed to do now was take good care of her, and apply her skills to the right situations. Good.
"That works for me. The knife is still plenty sharp. I would like the sheath ASAP though."
"You need not worry about that at all.. I'll see to it that it is done, and placed in your new living quarters. I'll be sure to notify you about those as soon as they are prepared." He motioned toward a man at the door, who nodded, and disappeared. He had to admit that he'd already had his men start on her quarters this morning... He'd also had them start on a coffin as well; you had to cover all of your bases, right?
"I would like to know who I'll be working with, asuming there are other people on the roster already. Also, I'm sure you know I like to go out now and then so a few days warning before you need me will help with communication. What is a family without trust?" He mused quietly at her use of his quote. She really was a clever one. Maybe too clever; he would have to keep an eye on this one.
"You are the first, Seyta, and I may ask for your help in assembling this little group further, should you have anyone in mind... I, of course, have some others in mind as well. You will meet them all in due time, though, I'm sure." The Roach motioned to a man not far from the table... He looked confused for a moment, and then looked down to the table where the knife had appeared... He looked embarrassed as he gave a quick nod, and grabbed the knife carefully, journeying into the back room with it.
"Your knife will be in it's new sheath when it's completed. Was there anything else you needed?"

Seyta watched the man take her knife, Roach wasn't going to shake on the deal. She suspected he wouldn't. Dropping her arm to her side she hook her head, and began to pick up her winnings from the table. "I think that's everything. I suppose I'll see you later then." She turned to leave then stopped looking over her shoulder. "So, any of these guys know how to show me to my new room without losing me?"
If a cockroach could give a knowing smile, she would have seen one. Instead, his antennae swooped about whimsically for a moment as he lounged in his chair.
"There is a map attached to your water jug, my child."
A glance down would show a folded piece of paper taped to the vessel. Clever, right?
"Good night."
