The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He basked in the heat of the glow of her warming cheeks and smile. “Ah, well then. We shall have to see to that quickly.” The café didn’t carry too many heavy foods, so if she was looking for a meal, this wasn’t quite the right venue, not a proper meal anyhow, but they would be able to get enough to curb the appetite until later.
Venus’s eyebrows shot up in surprise. “ I would like to see them to try.’ From any of his brothers that would mean violence, from Venus it meant the staff would have to resist his charm and sensibility. Of course if they insulted the young woman, they might be in for a bit of the prior. He had long ago excepted and learned to appreciate his own from and didn’t mind those that were inept and couldn’t handle their inferiority.
“Chin up Deer*.” Venus spoke quiet and confident. “ We are lovely people and they should be happy to serve us, no matter the shade of our skin, or any other genetic improvements we carry.” Besides, he had recommended the place so he knew that it was a friendly atmosphere.
He sighed slightly at the woman next to him, she was simply adorable. He tummy grumbled and she licked her lips in anticipation of the promised pastries and other various light but tasty foods. They made their way toward the back of the line and moved along with the others, like any other pair might do, yes of course the occasional tourist would stop in their tracks to stare, but the majority of new Yorkers were used to the makeup of their city. At least that was how Venus saw it.
Like in most things Venus splurged on the best. “ Order whatever, you like Andrea.” After her order was complete he added a double Grande dark Mocha latte and a ham and egg salad, and a Red velvet cupcake. He would insist on paying if he had to, and even offer a even more generous tip than normal if he had to bribe the cashier to settle the debt with him.
She had to admit, his words surely did calm her flare of nerves. If someone such as he was sure that they would be welcomed, then she was not going to trample on his good grace any further. The Greek simply nodded and smiled, allowing herself to be led along. The place was nice... nicer than any she had been it as of yet, and the table they were sat at didn't fail to meet her expectations. She did kind of wonder why the man who had seated them winked at her new friend, but decided not to question. The last time she had asked about that sort of thing around Alli, she had ended up hearing more than she intended.
Instead, she pinned a delighted smile on her lips and glanced at the menu that had been handed to her. Many of the items were things she had never bothered to try. She eyeballed the prices silently while trying to remember how much money she had brought with her on this venture. Never the less, she ordered from it all the same. Some kind of chicken entree, Glazed in wine or some other such nonsense. While eating at fancy places was nice every now and then, she didn't much care for how her meal had been cooked, so much as how it ended up tasting in the end.
"I should really show you a place I have been to before as well. It's very nice, but pretty far from here... They have a wall you see, where they take pictures of all their mutant customers. I am on there twice." She grinned, exposing her lengthy teeth without meaning too, and help up two fingers in a child like manner. "It is not nearly as fancy as this place though..." Blinking, her cheeks heated again. Perhaps she was talking too much... Especially about other places she had been too, when he had been kind enough to show her around. "Um... do you come here often, Venus?"
With her order in, and his as well, they were back to waiting. It surprised her though when the soda she had requested appeared before her with two straws in it. She chose not at ask again, seeing as some women liked to sip coffee through lots of itty-bitty straws. Perhaps she had mistaken as one of them. The dimmed lights above forced her to squint slightly through her glasses, but the flickering candle set in the middle of the table helped her to even out the issue.
"This... is a very romantic setting, isn't it? I wonder if many couples come here." She more mused the thought to herself, while tucking her napkin over her lap.
Venus nodded to the young man that was working hard to keep him happy, or earn a decent tip, he did tip for good service and not having to say what he wanted was all the more impressive to the ladies…however in this scenario, it would be awkward to say no need and this wasn’t a date, if Andrea wasn’t so innocent she’d realize that this was one of his spots. He had plenty of spots, it wouldn’t do to only have a few, eventually you would see someone you had brought their previously. All of that said the nudge and wink was much too obvious for his taste.
“fancy isn’t always nescary, atmosphere can be pleasant in a plethora of different ways. I find however that the company you bring improves it vastly. I wouldn’t say extremely often, but I do tend to return to places I have found that are worth returning to, I would be happy to visit this charming place you spoke of, perhaps we can get a picture of us both on the wall?”
She was simply too adorable not to flirt with, he would have to keep reminding himself that she was spoken for, but flirtation couldn’t hurt. His eyebrow raised and a mischievous smile lit his face. “ It certainly could be. You aren’t planning to take advantage of me are you?” he put on an innocent exspression that he had seen on her face countless times already. He reminded her of a puppy or a teddy bear, it wasn’t that she wasn’t alluring but she was just so darn innocent, he wanted to simply hug her all day long.
“where else is on your list of places to see, not that we have seen enough of this particular sight just yet, but out of curiosity.” Venus would have taken a drink if the waiter hadn’t intended on them sharing, he said, ‘he would have the same, not that they would be sharing, still it was a cute touch.
“I would be happy to visit this charming place you spoke of, perhaps we can get a picture of us both on the wall?”
She grinned. "That would be just wonderful!" Something she'd realized too late was that spending time with people she liked was just as relaxing and entertaining as doing many of the things other New Yorker's seemed to covet. Just sitting in a coffee shop brightened her whole day, and doing it with a friend was the icing on the cake.
“ It certainly could be. You aren’t planning to take advantage of me are you?”
She darkened a few shades. While a joke like that would seem innocent to some, to Andrea the implications were great. Fiddling with her napkin, she attempted to remind herself that it was simply more of that brand of humor she had yet to get used to. It... didn't work... In fact, it was starting to feel like she was going to spontaneously combust, purely from the heat built up in her cheeks. She also chose to keep her mouth shut least she open her mouth and make the situation worse- as she often did. Instead deciding to nod and giggle nervously. It's like Venus was ten times worse than Saph when it came to dropping joked like that on her!
“Where else is on your list of places to see, not that we have seen enough of this particular sight just yet, but out of curiosity.”
Ah! A distraction! The Greek jumped on the chance to change the subject, pressing a finger to pursed lips in thought, and pondered on her list. There were quite a few places that she still hadn't been. Given all of her time wandering around the city, she'd simply been too busy, or too neglectful, to stop and take a look around. "I... I am afraid that my list is far too long for one day..." Another giggle, this one genuinely embarrassed, and she scratched her cheek. "But.. there is an art garden of some sort around here, by or in the Rockefeller Center... as well as the Empire State building. I had been planning on going to see the State building first... but managed to find myself here, rather than there."
With a lopsided smile, she lifted the soda and took a sip from it. "I suppose it worked out perfectly, though. If I hadn't have gotten lost, I never would have run into you!"
Venus’s eyes widened slightly as she nodded, She was planning on taking advantage of him? He wouldn’t have guessed it, but he would let the woman spring her trap on him if she liked. He wasn’t one to resist after all. He wondered at what marvelous things were going in that head of hers that were managing to get such a lovely shade upon her cheeks. He might just have to give her the chance in the some secluded spot.
“An art garden?” That might just be the perfect place to let her come out of her shell, if she wanted to. “ I’m not familiar with it but if we ask enough people someone is bound to know, if we wanted to try for it today after the Mall.” The red man lured her into a position that she might find more accommodating to her subconscious admissions. And if it was Venus’s imagination getting the better of him, they could still have a very fun day regardless.
“I’m not familiar with it but if we ask enough people someone is bound to know, if we wanted to try for it today after the Mall.”
She nodded her chin slightly, angling a little smile his way, and scooted back in her seat as the food arrived. She honestly wasn't sure if she'd manage to make it to all of the places on her list in one day, seeing as the city was rather large and she was very small.. but she'd anticipated that before hand. What she hadn't anticipated was running into a friend, eating lunch, and having very nice conversation. Admittedly, she wasn't disappointed in the least. Seeing the sights was fun and all, but without someone to share them with it was a little boring.
"Sounds like a plan, then." After sipping at her drink once more, she turned to dig into her food. She had her fork raised and ready for the coming slaughter of the fine dish, before she recalled that there were things one needed to do when eating in the company of someone else. Manners. Furrowing her brown momentarily, she paused to adjust herself, before attacking her food in a more polite, dainty manner.
...Really, she still couldn't fathom why people ate like this. Slow, tiny bites. Lots of chewing... It was much easier to gulp it down and then get back to having a life! To be polite to her new friend, however, the Greek suffered through the entire meal with as much restraint on her part as she could.
"You know, I find it funny never ran into you before that one night..." Well, funny in a few senses. The one that made her giggle the most was the sheer size of him. How could she not have run into him at some point? "...I suppose it is mostly my fault, though, seeing as I kept to my room quite often." Though.. she was sure she'd glimpsed someone large and red at one point, shortly after moving in. Maybe that had been him?
...wait, what kind of question was that? It wasn't like there was more than one of him running around, was there?
After a little inward reflection, she remembered him mentioning brothers. In a way, because of genetics, she supposed it possible for them to share skin tone. Then again, she was no scientist, so her thoughts were moot.
Her mannerisms were priceless, to the way she momentarily was ready to pounce on her meal to the little fold that appeared on her forehead when she decided to pace herself, and the way she dabbed at her mouth with her napkin every couple of bites, it made want to take her home and beg someone to let him keep her.
“That is odd, I would think that you would have run into me or one of my identical brothers. Septuplets.” He grinned. Something about the giant red men being born at one time usually shocked people, He would explain further if he needed to, it was a good introduction into how he wasn’t legitimately born and of the perfect clone variety. “On the other hand we stay moving quite bit, never a quiet moment, at least not too often. Speaking of which, we don’t have to get all of the sightseeing in one day, I enjoy this sort of thing so I would be up for more exploring whenever you like.”
Venus made sure to eat as if he wasn’t at the table with his brothers and if he didn’t act fast, he wouldn’t have the opportunity to act at all. She was taking such care to be polite he could only do the same.
“That is odd, I would think that you would have run into me or one of my identical brothers. Septuplets.”
Sep...tuplets? For a moment she blanked on what that meant. When it came back to her, it was hard to wipe the surprise from her features. "Really?" That... was a lot of siblings. Coming from a family in which she was the only child, it was a lot-a lot of siblings for one family.
"I would not mind that at all, Venus! In fact, I quite enjoy your company as well, and I must confess, most of the time I am far too wary to give new things a try when by myself." Case in point; she never would have walked into the lovely restaurant they were currently dining in, if she had been by alone. When Saph wasn't around to guide her, it'd be both beneficial to her inching her way out of her shell, and her slowly growing social life to have Venus around. Plus, he was thus far the most polite, charming gentleman she'd run into.
With a smile, she set her fork down momentarily and fiddled with her napkin in her lap. "One of these days, when I make it back to the Sanctuary, would you mind possibly introduce me to these brothers of yours? It almost seems like a crime that I missed so much during my stay there... I hardly know anyone at all!"
Well, not to say there hadn't been reasons she kept to her room. One big buggy reason in particular... But while reflecting back, she realized it had been a little.. strange. Meeting more colorful characters like the one sitting across from her was definitely on her agenda now that she was back on her feet.
