The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Jorge
Jorge sighed as he sat back against the bench, carefully holding onto the basket so that it did not tumble away and ruin all the nice cookies on the ground. Andrea had certainly made an excellent batch; it was unfortunate, though, that their meeting had taken such a turn. It was not fair of him to have stirred up those memories for Andrea, but at the same time, how could it have been prevented? He was attached to probably one of the most traumatic experiences in her life! Just looking at him probably brought back those memories.
Still, he hoped that she would manage to work her way through it. It was a tragic thing, assuredly, but he had faith that they indeed would catch the Lion Man. Then, hopefully, he could give Andrea some peace of mind…
Then the events that followed were a blur. Some man had walked up, commented on the sad faces apparently attempted to cheer Andrea up with a free pass to some place that Jorge had never heard of. He made it sound like some magical place where all her worries would be buried under a pile of loud noises, fun, and games. Maybe such a place was good enough for a kid, but Jorge doubted that such a thing would have worked on the young Greek.
Unfortunately, as Andrea began to question the validity of it, the cheerful man looked aghast and attempted to prove her wrong! Another pass found its way into creation and was presented to Jorge himself. The detective arched a brow as, carefully, he took the pass in hand and tilted his head up at the man. Was he on something? Maybe just a little manic?
The detective glanced at the ticket in his hand and looked up to see the man back-flipping away. Maybe he would call this in, just in case.
>> "Americans sure do have a funny way of advertising their products... I do not know of this place... would you like my ticket as well? Maybe you can bring your lady friend with you?"
Jorge blinked as he returned his gaze to Andrea. He smirked a little and shook his head. As funny as the thought was of Gemma inside a place like this Adventure Works, he doubted it was exactly her cup of tea. Probably not really even Chase’s since the boy rather loved his comic books and just hanging out at home.
He offered his ticket to Andrea.
“No, thank you, friend,” he smiled. “Maybe you should hold onto it, and mine too. Maybe you have friends, or a boyfriend who will take you there?” She was a pretty girl. Honestly, it was not out of the realm of possibility that she found a mutant boyfriend who could love her for who she was. Hey, Adventure Works sounded like just the place for a date…
“No, thank you, friend, Maybe you should hold onto it, and mine too. Maybe you have friends, or a boyfriend who will take you there?”
Her face flushed deep brown before she could stop it, and she shifted awkwardly on her seat. She honestly didn't know if Saph like any of the games listed on the ticket... but, she supposed that Jorge did have a point. "I.. I don't know. I would hate to rob you of a ticket for something like that."
Just... taking something that had been given to him would feel odd. "...and I do not know if Saphirus even likes playing games. We have not had much time to get out and do things."
Aside from the few times they had gone out before she had left, that is. Dinner and him dragging her to a baseball game, (oh! and fireworks!) were the only examples of things that he liked to do. Really... they did need to get out more. She tried to calm her terrible blush, and fiddled with her ticket in her lap, before timidly accepting Jorge's offer.

>> "I.. I don't know. I would hate to rob you of a ticket for something like that… and I do not know if Saphirus even likes playing games. We have not had much time to get out and do things."
So she DID have a boyfriend! He smirked a little at that. He really was not surprised. She was a very sweet girl and pretty girl so it was only natural that someone would eventually get her attention. He hoped that whoever this Saphirus was, that he was a nice guy. She deserved a nice guy, especially after everything that she had gone through.
>> "... I suppose if you are certain, if would not hurt to try.."
He nodded as he handed the ticket over to her. He was quite sure that she would have a better time with Saphirus in a place like that then Jorge would. After all, it was a young person’s world. Jorge would much rather just get a quiet moment at home to read on his classic books or listening to his cassette tapes. Video games and such never really held his fascination. Then again, maybe that would be something that Chase would like to do. But…that was a discussion for another day.
For now, waited until she took the ticket from his hand and smiled.
“Don’t fret. You’re not robbing me,” he said in an amused manner. “I’m giving it to you. One friend to another. Take out your boyfriend, I’m sure he’ll probably enjoy it. At most you two will get a good laugh out of seeing each other play Whack-a-Mole or something.”
The idea was cute to imagine, Andrea and whoever this person was, standing in the middle of some huge arcade, either trying to decide which to play first or having no idea what to do. Andrea was sweet but from the look of her, he doubted she had any experience with such a place before. Still…it could be good for her to get out and experience a fun culture like that.
But…the detective had to smirk as he nudged her gently with his elbow.
“So…boyfriend huh?” he smirked. He wasn’t the type to pry but it was just too good to pass up. “Saphirus sounds like an interesting name. He a good guy?”
She resisted the urge to ask what 'Whack a Mole' was, and instead returned to looking at her tickets. After a while, and with some encouraging, she smiled. Maybe it would be fun, even if she didn't know what any of the games were.
The nudge only made her blush worse. She did manage to offset it with a giggle, though. "Oh, yes... He is a very sweet man, he recently joined the Xmen.."
Her giggle intensified for a moment, as she tucked her tickets away safely. "I met him years ago... He took me to my first ever fourth of July fireworks show as a birthday present."
She could still smell sulfur sometimes, if she thought on it really hard. "I recently moved back to the Mansion, that school for mutants... and he took me out on a.. a date." Her smile widened, and she chuckled.
"It is my very first relationship... It is... strange, yet very exciting."
Well, exciting was an understatement, really. Exhilarating, terrifying, fulfilling... There were many words to describe how she felt, and yet, they still didn't seem like enough. "He is the kindest, sweetest, silliest man I have ever met..." Considering all of the things he had done, from keeping her pig for her, to actively going out to try and find her, she was kind of understating that as well.

>> "Oh, yes... He is a very sweet man, he recently joined the Xmen…I met him years ago... He took me to my first ever fourth of July fireworks show as a birthday present."
She blushed! Now that was completely adorable. The detective could only smirk as he turned his attention back to surveying the rest of the park while Andrea explained her relationship. He was really surprised about to hear that her boyfriend was an X-Man. Ironic too since Jorge was also a member of the team. Though, he had not met all the members, he wondered if maybe he had run into his man before.
At least so far he sounded like a nice guy. Jorge would have to check around the X-Men team and see which one of them could possibly be dating his nice friend here…
>> "I recently moved back to the Mansion, that school for mutants... and he took me out on a.. a date…It is my very first relationship... It is... strange, yet very exciting."
He arched a brow. Back to the mansion? The same mansion that he inhabited half the time and visited more often than not? He was practically living there these days so how could he not have seen Andrea wandering around the halls? Well it was not like Jorge taught classes our actively roamed around, looking at every single student he passed. More than like they were on separate schedules and he was just missing her, but still. This was actually a pretty shocking revelation.
>> "He is the kindest, sweetest, silliest man I have ever met...I have never been so happy, as I am now."
The look on her face was enough to prove to him that she was indeed deliriously happy. It was an unmistakable expression and one that was good to see on her.
“Well you certainly sound like you are happy,” he grinned. “I’m glad to hear that.” he said as he plucked out another pair of cookies and offered one to Andrea. “You know…it’s funny. I actually visit the Mansion quite a lot. The guidance counselor there is the woman I told you about, who I am dating. I’m surprised I didn’t run into you sooner,” he said with a smile. It was still hard to wrap his mind around that the girl was going there, in the same school that not only he was at but also where Gina lived. Odd coincidences…
“You know…it’s funny. I actually visit the Mansion quite a lot. The guidance counselor there is the woman I told you about, who I am dating. I’m surprised I didn’t run into you sooner,”
She grinned, and took the offered cookie, swinging her feet gently as she sat up. "Well... I have only recently returned, and I spent most of the time in bed, recovering from.. well, their return." She pointed up at the wiggling snakes in her hair, just as Sloth managed to flip himself over one of her shoulders.
"I have not even had much time to wander around yet, which is probably why I have not noticed you there either. Though, it is nice to know that we will no longer hand to meet each other in parks or hospitals."
It also helped that the idea of having a friend she could trust so close to her would hopefully help with the nightmares she had been suffering through. "I hope to have everything worked out soon, so that I will be able to join the community once again. I have been a shut in for far too long." Popping the cookie into her mouth, she raised her eyes to the sky and mused to herself for a moment. "I suppose I should also try and contact my parents. They are probably worried sick about me, after so long without speaking to them.."
Then again, her mother had stopped sending her emails... so maybe they weren't? It was entirely possible that they figured she was safe and sound, since she had last told them about her time at the mansion... and a little about Saph. She dearly hoped that was the case. Smiling brightly, she licked her lips clean of cookie crumbs, and re-folded her hands in her lap.
"I will probably run into you a lot more now... This is the first time I have been out of Saphirus' room in three days."

Though, it is nice to know that we will no longer hand to meet each other in parks or hospitals."
Jorge had to arch a brow at her comment. In bed the whole time she was at the mansion? Recovering from…what? The detective immediately wanted to investigate to see what was going on but he did not dare say anything out loud. Not right now since he did not want Andrea to feel like he was prying into her life. But he would indeed take a look to make sure that everything was on the up and up with her and her…rescue…
But he did have to admit that it was good to know that she was so close by. Not that they were best friends but he still worried about her and always wanted to make sure that she was okay. Her altercation with the Lion Man was a terrifying one and he only wanted to make sure that she was okay.
Also…she made AWESOME cookies. Maybe he could just happening to be hanging around while she made some? It was just an idea.
>> "I hope to have everything worked out soon, so that I will be able to join the community once again. I have been a shut in for far too long…I suppose I should also try and contact my parents. They are probably worried sick about me, after so long without speaking to them.."
He nodded. He could only imagine what her parents might think of the situation. How much did they actually know about their daughter and everything that she experienced here? It was question probably saved for another time. Or maybe he would just wait until she decided to speak on it herself.
>> "I will probably run into you a lot more now... This is the first time I have been out of Saphirus' room in three days."
Jorge chuckled but didn’t really say much. He really did not want to even think was Andrea’s exile into this Saphrius’ room for three days was like. Probably something he shouldn’t even be thinking of anyways. But a glance to his wrist and immediately the detective blinked. He needed to head back to the mansion….huh…
He smiled as he turned to Andrea.
“You know, I have a meeting at the mansion,” he explained. “Let me give you a ride home,” he said as he stood up from the bench, holding his treasured basket of cookies.
His voice broke her away from inner thoughts, and her cheeks flushed lightly. "Oh! I hope I have not taken up too much of your time...?" She'd never forgive herself if she got him in trouble for a thing as silly as cookies. Dusting her gloves free of any clinging crumbs, she picked up the tickets she had been given and tucked them into her pocket.
"I would love a ride, Jorge... It would be most welcome." With a smile, she stood and dusted her dress off. "I imagine that riding the bus home without a basket full of treats would be less difficult than it was getting here... I had to slap quite a few hands away, you know... " And she had, too!
It was amazing how rude perfect strangers could be, when getting their mitts on a cookie was involved! One man had practically begged her for a cookie, even going so far as to resort to obvious flattery. Bad flattery, at that. "but it would be silly for me to turn down such an offer when you are heading in the same direction."
She grinned momentarily, while clasping her hands politely before her. "You know, I bet Saphirus is just worried sick about me right about now. He didn't like the idea of me going out by myself." And if she knew Saph like she thought she did, at least one person on the bus would have gotten socked in the face. Especially empty flattery man. (Which was precisely why she refused to bring him)
She walked along side him, spirits up, smile on her face, as he led her to his car. Chatting lightly as the conversation shifted from this to that, and they left they park. Overall, she had done what she set out to do. Bumps in the road aside, she was happy. Jorge was happy, and with their visit winding down, that was all that really mattered.
