Isabel walked at a slow and steady pace as she made her way through the park, no particular destination in mind. Her gaze was cast to the ground, her eyes watching her feet padding on the cement walkway. She could feel the sun warming her flesh, her shadow becoming darker as a cloud having drifted away to reveal the bright daytime star.
She let out a small sigh as she lifted her head, slowing her pace to a stop and looking around. Spotting a vacant bench the girl approaches it and settles her body down on it, crossing her arms and relaxing her muscles, her tired legs thankful for the rest after walking around the entire day so far.
Casting her gaze across the park once more, her eyes come to rest on a small family consisting of a mother, a father, and small girl who couldn't have been any older than five. They were playing frisbee at the moment, the young girl's squealing laughter peeling through the air as she reached to catch the disk, but missed. Her parents were laughing as well, enjoying the game they were sharing.
Isabel smiled lightly at first before her face fell emotionless once more. She could feel a hint of anger bubbling under her skin, a prick of jealousy adding to the mixture. They were not like Isabel, for she was a mutant, granted the ability of bone manipulation. She no longer had any parents or friends, but was instead a vagabond, wandering form here to there.
She felt a sharp bitterness toward the strangers out in the park field. They had only normal family things to worry and care about, Isabel had to concern herself with her mutations as well as the anti-mutant population that lurked about. She let out a small sigh, her expression turning into a light frown as the small child took another fall, though her laughter never wavered. "Sticks and stones," Isabel muttered, a low chuckle escaping her throat, "can't break my bones."

I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
