The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The park was next to empty today, on account of the rain and clouds that hovered over the area. But that's why she had come today, when usually she would not have come at all. Usually there were too many people, families, couples, friends. Not only was she somewhat afraid of other people, but she there was no point in watching all the fun activities she would never be able to do. The relationships she would never be able to have.
Vivica was laying on a park bench and didn't look to be anything out of the ordinary. There was no one else in the park right now, as the rain was coming down in a light drizzel. Laying on her stomach, she propped her self up on her elbows and looked down at a book between her hands. Her purple eyes were slightly distant in concentration on the book, and her black hair was sticking to the sides of her face from being wet. Her black tank top occasionally and slightly baggy dull green pants made her seem a little tom boyish, not to mention the black converses on her feet.
Turning the page, Vivica smiled lightly at a drawing the author of the book had placed on one page. continuing to read, her only movements was the occasional wipe of her hand across the page when a rain drop landed on the book, which wasn't often on accoung her head was hovering over it, explaining why her hair was so wet.
*Joey pulled Dominic along in the park, making sure he was able to scare the daylights out of every pigeon he possibly could as they pecked at the ground near a trash can.* "WOULD YOU HOLD ON?!" joey: "COME OOOOON!" *The boy ran away from his brother and screamed as loud as possible while running upon the trash can. The birds had begun flying away before Joey even made it to the trash as his screeching scared them off. Joey laughed delightfully as he turned around to his brother.* joey: "That was great!!" *Dominic rolled his eyes.* "Oh yea. Loads of fun, kid." *Joey stuck his tongue out at his brother and then noticed the girl on the ground, reading a book. He immediately ran over and sat down next to her. Dominic jogged over to retrieve his brother from being rude.* joey: "HI!!" "Uh, sorry. He has too much energy and likes to annoy other people with it..."

As Joey sat down next to Vivica on the park bench, she quickly jerked up and away from him, sitting as far as she could from him on the bench. Her book fell off the bench and into a rain puddle, causing the young woman to sigh at the destruction of a favoirte book. As Dominic aproached however, she didn't retrieve it in fear she might accidently touch him. As her purple eyes looked over to Joey cautiously, she lifted her feet up onto the bench with her arms around her legs.
" . . . Hello."
She replied to Joey's greeting. As a piece of her bangs fell over her left eye, she looked up at Dominic as he aproached and spoke. Vivica's lips curled upward in a soft smile as he apologized for Joey's behavior.
*Dominic picked up the book and looked it over with an apologetic expression.* "I'm...really sorry. How much did you pay for it? I'll pay you back." *He reached into the back pocket of his jeans while glaring over at Joey who shrugged his shoulders.* joey: "I'm Joey! This is my brother, Dominic...but I call him butthead." "Shut up, dork." *Dominic looked over the woman who seemed very anti-social as she hugged her legs and avoided any close contact with the two. When she looked up at him, Dominic noticed her eyes were purple. 'Whoa. Not many people with those color eyes...'*

"Don't worry about it, I've read it atleast 10 times."
Vivica said as Dominic offered to pay her back. She bit her lip and tried not to laugh as the brothers called eachother insulting names, slightly amused by the brotherly bond.
"I am called Vivica."
She said in response to Joey telling her their names. The young woman's voice had a British accent, and was very soft and quite.
"Really, it's not a problem, I'm sure I have another copy lying around somewhere my apartment."
*Dominic nodded with a smile.* "Well, we could treat you to lunch or something? Plenty of pretzel, ice cream, and hot dog vedors through the park. It's about time Joey and I had lunch anyway." *He held out his hand for a proper introduction, smirking.* "I prefer, Dominic rather than butthead."

Vivica frowned slightly as Dominic held out his hand to shake. She didn't want to be rude, but she knew what would happen if her skin touched his would be much worse. As strange as it would seem to Joey and Dominic, she pulled a thick, black leather glove out of her pocket and slipped it on her right hand before shaking Dominic's.
"Sure, Dominic."
Vivica said before smiling. Taking back her hand, she took the glove off and shoved it back into her pocket before standing up and stretching a bit. Her clothing stuck to her skin from the rain, but she didn't seem cold at all.
*Wire looked at Joey and then her.* "Uh, ok... So, where you from?" *He shoved Joey over to the end of the bench and sat next to Vivica. The little boy punched Dominic in the shoulder and stuck his tongue out.* joey: "Loser..." "Yes, yes you are." *Dominic said, smiling at Vivica.* "So anyway, where did you say you were from?"

Vivica smiled softly, but moved a bit further down the bench to it's edge, ever afraid of touching him. She looked a bit nerveous, on account it wasn't often that Vivica spoke with people.
"I'm from London."
She said, explaining her English accent.
"I've been in New York for a few years now, though. Where are you from?"
*Dom smiled, showing off his pearly whites.* "The Bronx, can't you tell?" *His accent was thick enough to tell he was straight from New York.* "Guess I shouldn't talk since I asked you were you were from too. Pretty obvious. Your accent is great though. What made you move to the city?" *Joey rolled his eyes again and jumped from the park bench to play with the pigeons some more.*

Vivica laughed softly at his smile and question of if she could tell. She had only been to the Bronx once, and though she didn't think it was nearly as bad as people made it out to be, she didn't plan on going back without a good reason.
"Thank you. I moved to New York for job purposes, and also because I didn't really have anything left there. My family is all dead or refusing to talk to me, and when I was offered a better paying job here I moved. It's nice here, not as expensive as everything is in London. I do miss it a bit though."
She laughed softly as she watched Joey play with the pigons. Reaching into her backpack, she pulled out a small piece of bread she had been saving for the ducks in the pond, but decided instead to let Joey feed it to the pigons. Vivica handed it to him, making sure to hold it by the edges so if Joey decided to take it, he wouldn't touch her.
joey: "COOL!! Thanks!!" *The boy took the bread and ran toward the birds once again. Dominic's face grew sad as he continued talking to Vivica.* "That's horrible, but I know how you feel. My brother and I are somewhat outcasts from our family as well. Luckily we were able to find a great place to stay though." *He smiled and looked her in the eyes.* "You don't look so bad to me. Why would they refuse to talk to you?...If you don't mind me asking?"

Vivica smiled sadly, looking back into Dominic's eyes for a moment. She then sighed and looked at her feet. She might as well tell him now, rather than him accidently touch her and have him find out for himself.
"I'm a mutant. Though, not the helpful kind. I can't put out fires or anything, I just make people see their worst fears and worst memories repeated in their head when they touch my skin. It's awful really. My parents went insane from it when I was younger, on account they tried to take care of me. Most mutants are proud of their gifts . . . I'm not really too fond of mine."
Looking up, she moved another inch farther away from Dominic, fearing her own 'gift' as some people might call it.
"Even without touching you, people don't want to hang around someone that drove your brother and sister-inlaw mental without meaning to."
*Dominic nodded and looked down at the ground.* "Well I guess mutants just flock together somehow then. I'm also a mutant..." *He put his fingertips together and then retracted them once more. Silver wires were shown between his fingers, shining brightly in the sun's reflection as it peeked through the clouds.* "Not much of a mutation, but it comes in handy sometimes. That shrimp over there," *Dom said, nodding toward his brother.* "He's a mutant too. We stay at a mansion for mutants. Keeps us safe from the rest of the normal people...though sometimes I wonder who really is normal nowadays. Oh, you don't have to keep inching away from me, either. I'm not afraid."

Vivica nodded. His wires were interesting, and she couldn't help but wish her mutation was something more like that, something controlable. Though she quit edging away, she didn't move any closer either.
"You may not be afraid, but I am. Not only of hurting you, but I see your fears and memories too, along with my own."
But a mansion full of mutants? Though it sounded interesting, Vivica didn't think she could ever live with other people. She didn't even like having other people live in the apartment across from her.
