The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The experiment was successful. The object had been painted completely despite its thickness, considerably wider than a sheet of paper. And also considerably harder. This gave her two possible conclusions, the hardness or density of the object to be painted did not matter at all, nor the object width. If the surface was painted, she could say for certain that the center would be painted as well. Part of her mind told her that she was losing valuable time, while her more conservative side encouraged her to continue experimenting, always informing her that at some point she was going to use that knowledge. The girl hesitated, little of what she had learned was as practical as it seemed, but still she wanted to go on... although she was feeling a little tired. Even so, three cookies later, she was meeting all her anti stress balls. Standing in front of her, so close together that a single object seemed to be a single one, they were the strongest anti stress balls she could be found. All the balls were veterans of many wars caused by Celeste, who would gladly, squeeze them tight, and occasionally thrown them against the wall or through the window. Still, the noble rubber creatures did not grudge. Since it was their task, and they would fulfill it even it that means to fall out the window or to be cut in two as their friend that was painted green.
Once again, she found that everything was in place. Scissors, balls, paper, fabric, markers. All the objects she could possibly need were within reach. Satisfied by the staging, she started with the fun but arduous task of torturing the balls until one confessed a crime. The first ball was nearly cut in two, only a small rubber thread united the two halves, so that Celeste had no problem in closing the ball that almost seemed to unite again. As if he had never cut. Taking one of the two halves of the ball previously cut, Celeste took its color, and then attempted to paste it into a ball that appeared to be completely healthy. The color moved swiftly into the rubber ball without stopping. She slowly opened the ball while the color was still moving on the surface so she could look inside, and the color covered whole ball. Surface and center. But not the way she expected. The color had turned, it had not penetrated from the surface... clearly, she had not taken into account that while the ball was not completely cut in two, there were still a cut, and the color would treat it as a natural limit that would not cross. How could she see the center of an object during the process?
The queen meditated in silence on what she witnessed. There was no form of observing the interior of the ball without making an incision, and however small, the color was going to get through that hole to finish to paint the interior. Not the way she wanted it to happen. And even if she was able to make a hole in the rubber, she had no way to look the process from the inside because she did not have any camera small enough to go in there. Maybe she could get one of those spy cameras, which looked like a small cord... but not that night... Knowing that her curiosity would not allow her to leave her ideas aside while waiting to for that innovative gadget, the girl decided to improvise. For the sake of her mental health.
With scissors in hand, tightly grabbed as a dagger, she violently penetrate the thick skin of one of the balls, the scissors remained there for a instant, then she took it out and put it in again. Then began to rotate it until the hole was big enough to tuck her fingers. With her index finger inside the rubber, she found that the cavity almost deep enough to reach the other side. The girl repeated the process again, stealing the color, and then hitting the ball with her nail. The ball soon was covered in green. Simply and homogeneous while Celeste tried in vain to see into the narrow cave. The process ended and she was not able to see if the inside was painted as the outside did or if the color was painted when the wave introduced into the pit.
Celeste knew she had to have a way, but she could not find a logical solution to her problem. She had several ideas, but all involved to carry out tasks almost impossible. In one, she had to make a rubber ball around a mini camera, to thereby determine whether the outside appearance influenced interior. Of course, she would not do it. So she kept on thinking until almost miraculously, she found the inspiration she wanted. If she painted a circle, the color would not enter the hole, she could stop the color with a barrier. So she took the ball now dressed in green, and drew a circle of black ink one centimeter away from the cave. Since she have no more colors to use, she removed the red from one of the balls. Once the routinely task was done, she pressed her fingernail against the green ball and began her spell. "Red." Mentally and on the physical plane at the same time. In a single pulse of her mind. As she imagined, the color hit the black wall and stopped there. Then, she cut the ball in half. This time only the outside had been painted. That discovery did not make sense, it was not logical at all. So she launched the two half against the far wall, using all her strength. Defeated she headed to her bed, where she finished her flan in absolute silence.
The impending birthday of her cousin Luciano was near. That particular even took her to a place where she had never been. The comic book store. That strange place had always been an establishment that caused on her, both rejection and attraction. In the movies and series, the type of people who frequented these places were rare. Not only rare because they had not many friends but rare by the fact that they believed in superheroes, dragons and dungeons even when they had left their teens since quite some time. All the stereotypes said that she would find children in adult bodies. But she found much more than that. She found a very evil mutant, incredibly diabolical that occupied his time, resources and energy in making her feel very unhappy. Pushing her to the edge of tears, and not only that, he also refused to sell the figures that she wanted. For her cousin, of course. Of course not every thing in that store were evil. There were many interesting things to see and buy in addition to the multiple comics. Armies, many hordes of creatures with exquisite detail. Rare collective pieces. So many things that caused a great attraction in the little girl. But unfortunately she could not buy all the wonders she saw. He refused her money.
She should be preparing her vengeance, She needed to punish that guy. But first, she had to examine what she had stolen. Because if any word of the many calumnies he had pronounced were true, she did not have much time with these glorious treasure. The first and last word captured, had already succumbed to disintegration. As they were in her tight purse all the trip. There was nothing but dust of the two words magically created. Unfortunately Celeste had not taken into account that those words were more fragile than they look. But that tragedy only improved the rarity of the last word that had survived the trip. Protected by her bodyguards.
The first thing she had done had been ordering her bodyguard to deposit the "word" with great care in her room. As if it were a Persian king, the beautiful creation rested on multiple pillows to prevent something to destroyed it by accident. More than half of their employees strongly believed that Celeste would be to blame for its destruction but no one dared to speak for fear. So anyway, they put the strange "object" where she had asked them to, knowing that her new toy would not last long enough.
She carefully entered her own room, as if she wanted to avoid waking a sleeping lion. Moving slowly, worried that the air currents that could produce her small body would break the "word". Without uttering a word, for fear that the vibrations would also destroy it. So the queen approached as slowly and quietly as she could. And while she was just trying to avoid any accidents that could lead to the premature demise of the wonderful word, even she had to admit that the situation was bordering on stupid. Still, being the last of its kind, and since Celeste was not going to return to that store again, the word had an extreme rarity.
Sitting in slow motion was the task more difficult and more stressful than she had tried in all day. It was not only difficult but also painful. So halfway she let her body fall on one of the pillows scattered around the room. Her legs were sore from the effort. Fortunately the word did not suffer any damage. The following action was to put her nail over the magically created word without destroying it. Despite her fears and concerns she succeeded extremely well. Her mind was rested so the task of stealing the color of the word was very easy. Once in her power, she stick it on a sheet of paper. Cutting the paper into pieces, duplicating the color and forming so many small sources. One of those pieces would be used to add to his collection, while another, to recolor the word. A minute later, the word had its original color again. Apparently these magical objects had the same properties as any object, and its color was also quite regular. So the word did not offer much in future experiments. Of course, it was impossible to expect something decent of a man who had been unable to recognize the greatness of the young queen. Even her mutation was unworthy.
