The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Take her for a walk. It wasn't the first time she had heard that request and it wouldn't be the last... the only problem was that Calley, out of anyone who had asked, probably really meant it. She could tell by the way he tried to make it sound so casual and by the lilt of his whiskers. At least, that was Lori's suspicion.
The Order leader sighed and grabbed Calley's finger out of the air before it got too close to her equipment.
"Then take her on a walk." She looked up at him over the top edge of her glasses to let him see how serious she was. "She's not a prisoner. She's just bound to get herself hurt without parental supervision." Lori tossed Calley's clawed hand away and turned back to the typewriter to make sure he hadn't snuck a tail up to tap a key or something. Oh yes. Lori had experience with mischievous tails. A tail would have to get up pretty early in the morning to sneak past her.
"I assume you're volunteering and you'd bring her back in equally good condition?" More power to him if he could. That girl was a trouble magnet. One step outside and she would probably step on the only booby trapped pine cone in all of New York. Boom. No more baby maker.

Calley
>> "I assume you're volunteering and you'd bring her back in equally good condition?"
"Am and shall," the panther man promised, with a salute of whiskers and a flash of very trustworthy teeth. "Possibly in better condition. I bet I can get her oil changed at McGrease King's." He'd seen nothing but healthy food down in her cell semi-voluntary confinement chamber. Didn't pregnant people need a balanced diet?
His tail was innocent of any and all side-long looks she sent it; it was merely curled around her chair, twitching harmlessly next to her leg. Unlike monkey tails which shall go unnamed, a feline's tail was a most dignified affair, and above manual labor. No: it would simply command its bearer to return at a later date, when her office was vacant, so he could satisfy his curiosity with a regal Street Fighters button mash.
"Will that be all then, Ms. Faust?" The panther asked, as if she had been the one to call him there. She was, after all: she'd called him there to guard. That he'd come with knitting and questions later was a clear given.
Oil change? Ew. Not the word choice Lori would have chosen. The Order Leader was pretty sure the preggo would refuse, but on the off chance that she didn't... Lori hoped she changed her oil all over Calley.
Eyes narrowed at tail. It was being inconspicuous. Too inconspicuous. "Let me know when you take her out." She would be timing him. Also, she would be killing him if they were gone for too long. "That's all." And thus, their meeting concluded. He could escort himself out.
