The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Before she knew it, Warren was back. That took no time at all. Emily was impressed.
She sat next to the fast man and stared confused at the phones. This one had no buttons. How do you use a phone with no buttons? Where do you speak into? Where does the sound come out? She started messing with another one and was surprised when a keyboard flipped out of the bottom. She touched a screen and it lit up a pretty colorful design. As she examined the contraptions, she spoke to Warren. “I live at a funeral home. I know it sounds strange, but for free room; I help out around the building and the funeral director. I can get you a good deal on a casket.” That was Emily’s attempt at a joke. But really, she could help get a good deal with a casket.
“I do a lot actually. I don’t sleep or eat, so I have a lot of free time. I cook, play instruments, and sew things. I walk around the city a lot. It is very large. I’ve been told to avoid some areas, so I haven’t gone there yet. I’ve made a few acquaintances in the city. It’s great that I have a phone, but I just realized I have no one to call. What else can you do with a phone?” She shook an Iphone. “And how do you make this work? It has no buttons.”

He managed an fake uncomfortable smile. “I’ll be sure to remember that.” He though it was a bit ironic that she would stay and work at such a place, but then again it had to be quit beneficial to have repair and maintenance available to you at the ready. It had to be hell keep your body in such a good condition or was that part of her mutation as well. He couldn’t help but smile as she fiddled around with the various phones. >> “I do a lot actually. “Allow me.” He reached for the phone and gently took it from her cold hands. Pressing the button on top he proceeded to show her the basics of turning it on and set it up for her. “I’ll take your number down and give you a call. You know until your meet someone else as charming and entertaining as myself.” Smiling a bit at his slightly humorous line. “Can I ask you something? “ Looking up at her with a face of seriousness.

Emily was happy. She was enjoying her time with the fast man. The touch screen was so futuristic. Phones had games on them? And clocks? And a phonebook? She would have to figure out this internet thing. Her friend had told her about it and had tried to show her what it was at the library, but it really didn’t make any sense. The world had changed so much.
Warren suddenly got serious. She was enjoying the banter between them. He was attractive and it had been awhile since someone had flirted with her. She wondered what he had to say. “You can ask me anything.”
He ran his hand down the top of his head, sighing slightly as he struggled with the urge to open up and express his feeling, and just shut up and keep moving. After all that’s how he lived his life mostly, hell that how he survived most of these years. His eyes stared into the lifeless ones of Emily. Although she lacked a pulse there was still much alive inside of this woman. A grin spreading on his face as he realized he had been sitting there staring her in the face.
“Oh, I mean. How do you deal with watching everyone you care about die? I mean speaking from my personal experience I couldn’t do it.”
Looking at the ground as those painful thoughts of losing his parent came to mind. His fist tightening as he withheld a deep rage at the situation. Taking a moment as he gathered his feeling he leaned back against the bench pulling out a cigarette. “you smoke?”

Emily smiled at Warren. This speedster was growing on her, though his probable unlawful actions were probably against societal values. Ooh look how smart she was sounding. She watched him as he stared at her face. He reminded her of someone, someone from her past. A man from the plantation who worked in the fields. He had been a good man. She watched him sold to the highest bidder when her dad’s heart and soul was sold off for cash. “Oh, I mean. How do you deal with watching everyone you care about die? I mean speaking from my personal experience I couldn’t do it.
This was not a question Emily was expecting. How was she going to answer it? She had never really thought about it. It was easier to not think about it. “Everyone has their time. We can’t stop it. Can’t run from it. So you might as well except it. I could just cut myself from the world and not get to know people. But I guess my time with them is worth the heart-ache later. Focus on the good times. Otherwise the bad will eat you up.” Well that was pretty deep of her. She was proud of herself for the evening.
“No, I don’t smoke, thanks. I don’t even breath.”
Emily looked at the horizon over the trees. “Sun’s coming up. I didn’t know we had been out here all night. So what are your plans, Mr. Peace? Is it time to go our separate ways? Oh, and can you show me how to put numbers in this phone, please?”

“Yea I don’t smoke either…” He replied before putting the cig to his lips and lighting it. He reached over to her phone and programmed his number inside. He hadn’t really paid much attention to the time. Heck it wasn’t like he actually had someplace to be. Although the Sanctuary was always an option now.
“I guess your right it has gotten late or early.” Grabbing the remaining phones he tucked them into his pockets. “Maybe next time we can meet up earlier and I can show you how to download apps? ?Maybe even have lunch I mean, if you eat?”
‘Of course she doesn’t eat you idiot she doesn’t even breathe.’ He reminded himself. Shaking his mistake he reached down and politely kissed her hand. “Anyways I see you later madam.” Again faking a high profile French accent.

Emily smiled at Warren. She was enjoying his company. They would have to meet again. Lunch sounded nice. “ Jusqu'à ce que nous rencontrons encore, monsieur. Bon au revoir.” This had been a very pleasant evening.
“I will do my best to try to call you on this phone. I may even try this “text message” that you spoke of. I would love to go to lunch with you. Or a movie.”
Emily was really starting to enjoy her life in New York. She was beginning to make friends and find her way around. The undead girl was slowly becoming use to the twenty-first century. She decided to repeat her French in English. “Until we meet again, sir. Good bye. She gave a slight curtsy and vanished into the trees.
