The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Adults were full of contradictions. She had enough information but at the same time she didn't. This was annoying more then anything else. The squinted eyes stared without mercy at her. More questions, more flipping questions for him to answer. If he could pull off his shoe right now and smack her across the face with it, he certainly would. What part of his explanation did she not understand? With a heavy huff of air, he bid his time before saying anything.
"You aren't smart." Seriously, the normal amount of brain cells in the normal human being along with the typical amount of brain cells used was far more advanced then Taylor. "You tell me you sit on your ass all day and run this place and can't figure out something like that?" Perhaps she just didn't have the eyes of a teen, the fresh outlook on life and living on the edge of one lie to another. "Make up some BS story about getting arrested and locked up. They'd believe that in a heart beat."
"When's the pig leaving?" As much as he was trying to pay attention to any signs of flashing lights and such, he hadn't noticed any particular car leaving. Though when expecting something to come, it was hard to forget when things left. Until the pig was out of the mansion, he certainly didn't want to be contained in the walls. Outside and on the streets was his element, not inside stuck with a building he was still figuring out.

>>"You aren't smart. You tell me you sit on your ass all day and run this place and can't figure out something like that? Make up some BS story about getting arrested and locked up. They'd believe that in a heart beat."
"I'll manage" she sighed. of course he did not want them to know where he was. But still, it was such a pity that she had to lie to the grandparents; in many cases, the situation was not as bad as teenagers made it out to be. She made a mental note to look into the matter later. Discretely.
>>"When's the pig leaving?"
"The pig is called Detective Cervantes" she corrected him calmly "And he will leave when I am finished talking to him. He doesn't know you are here, he probably doesn't know who you are, and I would prefer it to stay that way. I am sure you can handle that."
Because Hokee confronting the police would end in a mess.
"I do have one last question. Tell me about your mutation. I don't care how it works, I just want to know what it is."
She had to. If it was something twisted and dangerous, that would put a spin on the whole issue...
A Detective, she was dating a detective pig! A long silence started. He was expected to stay there and act like everything was fine when down under his feet someplace was a freaking detective. How in the world was that going to make him have any confidence in her at all? Dating him or not, it just wasn't the thing he wanted to hear right now. What good was this to him? He would have to skirt about the school and hide away from a detective now and not just normal cops.
Hokee's eyes narrowed in the smallest slits possible. He would have to find alternative ways to get through the grounds faster now, and make sure that at any given moment he could make a clean break from the place. Classes or not, he couldn't commit to a thing, not with knowing there was a detective that had free reign at the school. If things could have gotten any worse, they just did. Maybe she wasn't as stupid as he thought. Her natural talents could cancel out mutant abilities but a detective cop could detain him forever if they wanted.
Walking away from her, he kept his back to her. A shame it wasn't night, then he could just drift away into the shadows and finally figure out how far he needed to be away from her before his mutation worked again. He didn't have to tell her everything, just give her a general idea. Moving towards a shadow on the rooftop, he decided to give it a go. Thrusting his bare hand into the semi darkness, he watched his hand morph away into the background. "No more questions."

It was a mistake to tell him about Jorge; she could see him wince. What was done was done, though; Gemma sighed again as Hokee stood and stepped away from her. She did make progress, though, and that was good enough.
>> "No more questions."
She nodded, even though he had his back to her. She would get back to that topic another time. She watched him step away... out of her aura. She was not sure if he had tested his abilites already in some way, and figured out the distance; but she could see him extend his hand into the shadows...
... interesting.
Tilting her head, Gemma watched. She knew there was no use asking.
Looking over his shoulder he could see the lady watching him. It was annoying in some aspects, but he should take it as a compliment of sorts. As much crap he continued to give her, she kept after him. That had to take a whole lot of galls. Or just a great deal of patience. She had some practice with all the other students there, but just because she had practice didn't mean much at all. She just knew how other kids reacted and such, she didn't know him. No point in letter her get to know him either, she would find a way to put him with one step in a grave and the other stuck behind bars quicker then he could take a piss.
Toying with the hand that was in the shadow, he took the liberty to flex one particular finger. Curling his other fingers down into his palm, the one finger dead center flexed. People not understand how efficient it was to swear or flip people off, but it really did make a huge difference. Leaving his shadow, his solitary finger curled in with the rest. "We get cash here?
The silent treatment didn't last long, but he had to break it for now. If he was going to do the whole car class and all, he would need money to get a car and parts to work with. That was if she wanted him to do things the legal way. He had no problems personally working around the laws, it was he had to do sometimes to get anywhere. Her knowing the answers for everything was starting to get a bit annoying, having to rely on her for things.

>>"We get cash here?"
"No, you don't." she said simply, hiding her amusement. The nerve of him. Sure, every teenager throught they were special and worse off than everyone else and that nobody could possibly understand them; but Hokee was taking it to the extreme. Cash, sure. The brat wanted to get paid for living in a five-star private boarding school.
Gemma stood; he was right about one thing: the conversation was over.
"Whenever you get bored, you can come down. Jorge's leaving soon." she stared towards the fire escape, but she glanced back over her shoulder "I'll see you around, Blackbird."
Shrug of the shoulders and Hokee kept his stance. What more was there to say. He got some of the information he needed but mostly nothing of great use. Jorge was going to be a problem, a big problem. Not meeting him was first on his list of things to do. The longer he stayed away from the guy, the better chance he had of not needing to worry about him carting himself off in flashing lights. He couldn't trust Taylor, not with her illusive answers.
Turning his back on her, Hokee slowly stalked down further down the roof. He wanted as much difference between him and her right now as possible. Practicing his running was very important now, maybe more so then ever. Not giving a crap one way or another, his feet started to pound hard against the rooftop as he flung his body into the elements. There was no better time to run then now. See you in hell.
