The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>>"Protection. Protection of myself, of the kids in my class, my little brother and sister. Whoever could use a walking boulder to keep them safe. And they kind of help with the whole not seeing thing. I mean Fluffy might not have eyes, but that doesn't mean he can't see. It's just more like mole vision."
"Protection. Nice." Krisz nodded. Kid was hero material, then. Villains used their abilites for a great many things, but protecting others was good guy stuff. That made Krisz smile. He was an author and a cynic, but he was hopeless when it came to good and evil. He was good at heart.
"Mole vision?" he tilted his head "Interesting... so, you can see what your golem senses, is that it?... Also, who named the golem Fluffy?" he grinned "That is delightfully unique..."

"Sort of," Locke paused. It wasn't vision in the typical sense. He ripped a sheet of paper out of his notebook and handed it to Krisz. "Hold that taut over your head." he told Krisz. Once the "ghost" had done so Locke stood up and fumbled through his pockets. "Alright. That's what things look like out of my left eye. Sort of. I can't see light shining through. Same thing goes for Fluffy. I can't make a functioning eye out of dirt so I would be totally blind when controlling the golem."
He pulled out some loose change. "So my brain picks up on earth vibes, fills in the blanks." On the piece of paper Locke placed a dime, a penny and a nickle. From his viewpoint he could easily tell what coin was which. "Which means that now there's something there. I just don't get the full picture. All I can see is the parts that touch the ground. Like how you can see that there are coins, but I bet you can't tell which ones are which. Mole vision"
Locke took the coins back and sat back down. That had been his best description of how he saw the world so far, and he was pleased with it. "Um, I dubbed it Fluffy. I've got a little brother and sister so maybe I was stuck on the whole little kid not giving things names that make sense."

Krisz nodded, looking at the paper. It was an interesting experiment, and he was curious to see where the kid was going with the explanation. You don't get to hear how golems see every day.

Oooh. That was interesting. Krisz was scribbling mental notes. You never know when you'll find it useful to know how golems see. Could be part of a new story.
"Fascinating..."

Krisz smirked, setting the paper down. "That kind of makes sense. Are your siblings mutants too?"
