Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Agnes cast a glance back to Kyle the entire time that she was showing him around. He truly seemed astonished and enjoyed all the sights and sounds that were around him. He got to see the true opulence of this mansion, as well as how cohesively all the students and staff seemed to be around him. On top of that, just the various types of students who came to this school, a variety of all types of people and mutations seemed to set down any fears about the types of mutations they accepted. It truly was an excellent place and one in which they all could learn the meaning of being a unified community.
The runaway smirked as she crossed her arms over her chest and continued to lead the young man on towards the kitchens. It really was one of the best parts of the mansion.
And Kyle seemed to reiterate this point the second that she lead him inside…
>> "Well, I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure this is.....a very popular place to be. A very large popular place to be."
Agnes smirked and nodded her head.
“It really is,” she said with a smile. “Lot of the students like to hang out here, some of them absolutely love to cook. I know there’s a mutant here that loves to come in after midnight and spend a majority of his time baking and leaves things out for the students to have in the morning.” she shrugged with a smile. “We all like to be helpful to each other. I, for example, make a killer chocolate milk.”
She winked as she turned to the fridge, pulled open the door and produced a couple of bottles of water. She handed one out to him and waited for him to take it.
“Here,” she said with a kind smile. “There’s still tons of the mansion to see and there are no drinking fountains on the way. Oh, are you hungry?” she asked as she motioned to the rest of the kitchen. “We’re never lacking in food here and you’re more than welcome.”
One of the things Kyle hadn't noticed about the kitchen right away, more because the size had caught him by surprise, was how clean the whole setup was. The school was home to numerous students of likely various ages, with various powers that may or may not be controlled at all times and the kitchen itself practically screamed that keeping such a large place clean would be difficult if they slackened in its repair for even a moment. The fact that it was spotless, just like the rest of the mansion he'd seen thus far, told Kyle that like its students, the school took very good care of its environment.
Heck, it was likely the students that helped to keep it so clean. Now that was devotion to a cause. After all, the place could easily look like a world war had gone down in the place if left unchecked.
Agnes's words caused him to whirl himself around slowly to look at her as she spoke, occasionally letting his eyes drift to a little point here or there that his initial inspection of the place had missed. When she trailed off as her explanation finished, Kyle caught that wink and gave a mischievous grin in return.
"Well, lucky me. I just love a fresh meal first thing in the morning. Maybe I can even pick up some cooking tricks. By the way, now that you mention it, I happen to enjoy chocolate milk very much too. Maybe one day we can spend some time together so you can show me just how killer this chocolate milk and possibly how its made."
His eyes followed her as she moved towards the fridge, opening the door swiftly and returning to him a moment later, handing a bottle of water out for him to take. Thanking her and taking the bottle from her hand, he swiftly undid the cap and promptly downed half the bottle before taking a deep breath and a sigh of relief. As he lowered the body, Agnes offered the kitchen to him in order to look for a snack. Smiling, Kyle already knew what he wanted. He'd seen it when she'd opened the door of the fridge. Stepping over to it, he opened the door quickly and reached inside, pulling out a small sandwich that had been untouched. Taking a bite from the end and, on his way back to Agnes, snatching a cookie from nearby, he came to her and nodded politely.
"Many thanks. I was a bit famished." He quickly finished his snack, quickly and cleanly, then licked his lips and sighed in relief. "Much better. Alright then my informative hostess...where to next?"

Maybe one day we can spend some time together so you can show me just how killer this chocolate milk and possibly how its made."
Agnes smirked a little as she watched the young man. He certainly did love to heap on the flattery. She had to chuckled silently at this but she did not call him on it. Instead she merely let him continue to have his way because she had a feeling that no matter what she said, he was going to continue to speak of her in such a way. So be it. She was fine with a little flattery now and then, so long as he did not get any stupid ideas in his head. The last guy that attempted to do that, she gave a black eye to.
So far she hoped she would not have to do the same thing with Kyle. She smirked and offered him food and he seemed to graciously accept.
Stepping aside she watched as he raided the fridge, procuring one of the ready-made sandwiches that the staff left for students, as well as snagging a sweet treat from the cookie jar. She smirked as she took a small sip of her water. Despite her work, she was not at all hungry. Thirsty, though.
Once he was done he returned to her side with his food in hand. She certainly knew what it was like to have that level of hunger.
>> "Many thanks. I was a bit famished…Much better. Alright then my informative hostess...where to next?"
She smirked and nodded. “Follow me.”
With that she turned and led him further on. They passed hallway after hallway which Agnes explained led to other storage areas, as well as some of the classrooms. When they got to a set of staircases, she turned and pointed them out to him.
“These lead to the separate boys and girls dormitories,” she said informatively. “More than likely you’ll be placed here. Rooms are pretty standard and the same for all of us. Bed, closet, bathroom, window with a view, though your free to decorate as you will. Unless you’re given a roommate. Most of us usually are,” she explained.
Nibbling away at the remnants of the sandwich, Kyle stepped into line to follow Agnes from the kitchen, tossing the wrapper the sandwich had come in into the trash on his way out. He had to brush a few crumbs from the spot they'd fallen on his shirt, though he was careful to collect them in his hand and throw them out as well. This place was spotless and it wouldn't do him any good first impression wise to be seen making a mess.
With that in mind, he licked the final crumbs and the taste of the sandwich's making from his lips before letting his eyes follow where Agnes's hand was guiding them to look.
The tour from there was fairly simple, but that was no surprise. It was just a house after all, a massive and extraordinary house, but a house nonetheless. While its internal structure would be much larger then your average house, everything you came across was standard to houses. Bathrooms, the kitchen, the entryway, the areas for storage along various hallways. Still, despite the simple nature of the tour, what made it better then average was just how above the norm the house was. There were more rooms then Kyle dared to count and each of them didn't seem to be used needlessly. It was impressive, to say the least, and he knew there was likely more to see that would be twice as good as this.
When they reached the stairs and Agnes indicated where they went, Kyle took a few steps forward to glance up them to see how high they went, then descended back down and chuckled. "The personal rooms are up there huh? What, no co-ed dorms? That's not very fun." Chuckling and making it obvious that he was joking, Kyle glanced up the stairs again before continuing.
"Well, if I'm lucky, I'll get a roommate that I can get along with. Otherwise there might be some accidents and arguing in the future. Anyway...I think its time we meet these greeters or whatever they're called. And maybe while we're at it, you can tell me about who's in charge of this whole place. I'm curious to know who's got the power to hold this place down."
>> "The personal rooms are up there huh? What, no co-ed dorms? That's not very fun."
Agnes smirked and faked a sarcastic laugh at his direction. It was not like that was not the first time she had heard that. Shaking her head she pointed an accusatory finger at her gave him a very stern look. Despite her small stature, the pale runaway tended to have the ability exude a sense of authority whenever she needed to.
“Don’t you get any ideas, mister,” she said with a nod. “One of the security women here can turn naughty boy’s and girl’s into porcelain dolls. I’ve seen her do it. So unless you want perfect ivory skin and to be dressed in a tiny, pink, frilly dress, then behave yourself.”
She said it with the conviction that proved that she was not joking around. And she wasn’t! But she still smirked and shook her head.
She nodded. It was getting to that time where she would have to lead him to the greeter anyways. Taking the lead once more, she stepped forward, pointing out other pieces of art and such, waving at other students and staff until finally she arrived at another hall.
“This leads to the offices and the infirmary. DocProf works there. He’s the schools resident doctor and healer,” she said with a nod. “Questions about your powers or if you’re sick or something, he’s your man. Now,” she waved for him to follow. “Most of the staff is situated down this hall. Teacher offices, guidance counselor, etc. But this,” she said as she waved to the door. “Is where you want to be. A school greeters office.” she nodded with a smirked. “And with that, we end our tour. Any questions?”
The dreaded finger point. Kyle had to avoid laughing out loud at it, a fact that was easily accomplished when he saw the serious glare that accompanied it. He let a small expression of shock slip across his features, blinking as if the finger both surprised and put him on edge. It did, to a degree, but most of this performance was staged; he knew she likely wasn't planning to do anything within the school halls and therefore this was a harmless threat.
Sort of. There was a bit of sweat dripping down the side of his face at the thought of being turned into a doll by a big scary lady. Note to self, don't go lurking around the dorms without permission.
When she was done, Kyle remained silent for a moment, then gave her a solid nod to show he understood. When she said nothing more after that, he took it as a sign that he'd gotten the worst of her lecture. Letting the smile creep back onto his face, he chuckled lightly. "The only ideas I shall get are the proper ones, I can assure you. Though that pink frilly dress doesn't sound so bad..."
He'd leave it at that and then fall into line behind Agnes again, tilting his head back and forth whenever Agnes directed his attention to some of the art pieces around them or towards another student or member of the school's staff that walked by them. Whenever they walked by someone, Kyle gave them a slight nod and salute, passing by a hello or a name if it was offered in return. Soon enough, the arrived at the hallway of truth.
He followed in her wake, listening to her explanation of the schools doctor and glancing towards where she indicated to find him. Somehow, he had a feeling he'd been seeing that doctor more times then should have been considered normal. He'd have to remember to make sure he got along with the Doc, otherwise those would be some awkward hours. He then turned his head to watch all the other doors as she named them, then felt his breath stall for a second when they came to the room that she said he'd have to visit to be officially welcomed here.
"Nope, don't really have any questions...no wait, I have just one Being new to town means I don't have a lot of friends sooooooo." Smiling, he cast her a wink before fumbling in his pocket for his phone. "Can I get your number? You know, in case I need help with something or whatnot or just need someone to hang out with."
Agnes reached the end of their tour and turned back to face Kyle. It had been an interesting afternoon, just leading him around and showing him the ropes. He seemed to be pleased with the place and she had to smirk. She caught glances now and then of him being thoroughly impressed with the mansion and everything it held within. The thought of that made her smile. She was loving this place more and more because of all the good that it was doing. It was helping those people who needed to learn to use their powers, those who needed a second chance at life. She was a living testament to the good that the mansion who do. Therefore she was only too happy to spread that sentiment.
Forte seemed to think for a moment as he looked at the greeter’s office. She waited…then he finally responded…
>> "Nope, don't really have any questions...no wait, I have just one Being new to town means I don't have a lot of friends sooooooo. Can I get your number? You know, in case I need help with something or whatnot or just need someone to hang out with."
She arched a brow.
For a second that old familiar sense of fear tinged her heart. They were lines that she heard many, many times before. And for a second she was on her guard. But the runaway forced the feelings to quell. As overprotective as her mind could get, Agnes did not want such a thing to rule her the rest of her life. Instead she took a breath before she smiled at Kyle.
He was nice enough. But her wariness still waivered in the back of her mind. It was only after a moment of thought that she finally reached into her back pocket and pulled out a small business card. She held the small piece of paper out to him. It had a cartoon ladybug on it, wearing a sunhat and carrying a watering pail.
She nodded to it.
“Number on there is my work number. You can reach me through that,” she said with a grin. Then she stuck out her hand for him to shake. “It was a pleasure to meet you, Kyle. Please, do take care of yourself, got it?”
