The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

I like the idea of the diamond as a trophy for the top thief.
Having one thread describing all of the locations, and one thread for each attempted break in would probably work. (All in the fan fic section)
I'm still a little unclear about how the stats will be used. Fever, could you perhaps create one example so we could see how it would work? Say I wanted to steal the Mona Lisa from the Louvre...
I had pictured a thread where the character (or group) writes about how they try to break in and someone else runs the security of the place they are breaking in to. How do the stats fit in?
Okay, first of all we'd have to think of somewhere other than Le Louvre... lol I'm almost certain it's not aloud to publicly discuss the breaking into a non-fictional place to steal a non-fictional item, it would be seen as conspiring.
So after that comes Kat's original idea ( ) that the buildings are RPed. This was an excellent sugg' which is definately going into the game. Then on, different parts of the building will have stat levels which players will have to beat (similar to a complicated trumps game) to get by it. Now I know players could just look at the description and say, "Meh, I wouldn't get past that..." So that's why I've come up with the idea of invisible stats too, which are hidden from the Charrie. (PS: any sugestions as to whom should be appointed the role of stat-trustee, IE: the person I send secret stats to before a game, would be greatly appreciated.) So the idea is that, say, you were trying to grab the Mona Lisa from La Volure ( - coincidentally, that's also similar-sounding to the French word for thief!) So say before the painting there is a network of lasers. Depending on how complicated the lasers were, the charrie would have to have a certain level of agility to beat the lasers' agility to navigate their way through them. The stats work behind the scenes. Another example would be breaking into the building - initially the charrie would need great stealth to avoid detection. I'm thinking of adding maps of the buildings with each room's stat recorded; this way players can interact with the stats as they move about the rooms. On second thoughts, the maps could also contain which artwork is in which room... remember, the player isn't obliged to go after only one piece. Also, I want players to be able to utilise their abilities. Therefore there will be a million different ways to break into a building, depending on what the charrie's strengths are. Exapmle; if you can fly, and there are pressure pads on the floor... good on you! Lol. Or if players are lacking in stealth or agility, the thief's staple traits, what's stopping you from rushing in all strength blazing and knocking the guards for six, using your endurance to withstand the building's defences? I just want everyone to have a chance if they want, and as long as super-powered charries don't go OTT and everyone makes it interesting, anything goes! (However, for the more... innovative ideas, please PM me first.)
Perhaps we could do a trail run of this idea. I have an idea that I just PMed Abyss about for the thieving of the afore mentioned painting from the "La Volure". If he agrees, would you be interested in trying out this idea with us? We'll need some fictional information about the museum and all the appropriate stats (especially the security stats during the day time, during visitor hours). If it works out in the test run, you could start doing stats for other sites.

Something I was kinda of thinking because this is a great idea but I don’t think it should be focus just on stats. But also the creative ability of the person that is Rp’n. I mean If someone don’t have the stats but has the ability to out wit the security system then they should be welcomed to all the riches that someone that does this for a living. This means this could make it pretty demanding on the person that is NPC the little adventure. Almost like a DM. And also if this works can there be little missions like this for assassins. Not saying that someone has to be murdered, but can be a kidnapping, or a bit of thievery in the corporate world. Hmmm just a thought.
Quick point as a mod, please just do 1 long post rather than lots of short ones if no one has posted since you last did.
Ok, now on to the topic. Firstly I fully support it and as Statistician offer my help with any stats......
Hey, this would be capital if you could do that Statistician. Could we work out some of the details about which stats are which, what can be used for what, calculating fair numbers and all that? That would be so great. ;D
