Kaz looked at her for a moment before he addressed her, and even then he paused once more before he explained fully. This intrigued Nox slightly: was it because he felt unsure whether to tell her or not, or was it because of the girl's presence? The fact they were from different organisation could explain the tension between them she mused, before she brought herself back to his words.
"We work for another Mutant. Quite powerful and successful"
She supposed that made sense, since in any society the powerful lead the weak so that seemed natural. What really intrigued Nox was the idea that some mutants were more powerful than others. Now she thought about it is made perfect sense, it had just never crossed her mind before. Since she had never fought a mutant before it made her question herself. I am strong? Or compared to the others am I simply something to be easily swatted away? She certainly didn't like that idea, and mentally noted that she would have to test her strength soon, even if only for the purpose of knowledge.
She listened carefully to his words and noted that he had turned to the girl as he explained about achieving personal desires. Was he challenging her? His gaze shifted once more, as he neared the end, to her, the lack of light clearly didn't affect him. Nox's mind filled with possibilities and trying to pick out a coherent thought was proving to be quite impossible. She was silent for a moment as she managed to gain some control on all the questions that buzzed in her mind. There was so much she didn't know.
"So this Kabal group works for a powerful mutant, Hunter wasn't it?” She turned to regard the girl as she spoke, she had decided to play things safe and see how much information she could gather first, since it seemed like this girl was here for an answer. "What about your group? Any aims? Or do you work the same way, as a strike force that comes together occasionally and otherwise fulfilling you own goals?”

"So this Kabal group works for a powerful mutant, Hunter wasn't it?" Kaz listened and watched the way she said it, something told him she might have gotten the wrong idea. "When I said powerful and successful, I didn't mean to imply that his powers made him stronger than the others in the Kabal. The power I was talking about is the kind you get when you have a lot of money and control the lives of so many of these mindless sheep. Political and financial power and success and influence."
Kaz uncrossed his arms and looked to Isabel, then back to Nox. "The Order." He said flatly. "That is the group she works with. It's not the same as Kabal. They generally follow an interesting woman named Syn. The basic goal: Total Mutant Supremacy. If it comes to it, complete eradication of the human race, to achieve that goal." Kaz looked to Isabel before speaking again. "The Order isn't a strike force, it's a close nit group. They each have their own things they do of course. If I were to use a word to describe the Order, Family." His eyes slowly left Isabel's face to look back to the street, crossing his arms across his chest again.
Isabel's smile had faded into more of a blank and yet slightly intrigued look as Kaz spoke, raising one eyebrow curiously whenever he turned to her at certain intervals of his little speech. Pfft. Stupid Kaz, his stupidly awesome sales pitch and his big dumb employer. True, Isabel had no real reason to dislike this Antonescu guy just yet since she'd never even met or spoke to him. But, she was still holding a childish little grudge against Kaz for just up and leaving he Order like he did, as well as being a little miffed at his employer. Big dumb super successful businessman. She crossed her arm in a sort of imitation of Kaz, only half listening to what he had to say.
She looked back to Nox as the girl addressed her, parting her lips to reply before Kaz butted in, drawing Isabel's attention back to him once again. She glowered at big stupid Kaz as once again he delivered one of his awesome sales pitches. But, as much as she hated to admit it, he'd done a better job at describing the Order and its goals than she could have done. She gave a small sigh at the thought. Apparently she wasn't one of the better recruiters around. She only look at Kaz a brief moment longer as he finished speaking, his descriptive word for the Order having caught the attention she was trying to focus on ignoring him. "Yeah, he's pretty much said it all," she stated, a faint hint of a sulky tone in her voice as she turned back to Nox. "We work toward having our voices heard and getting ourselves a recognized and respected place in society. We're just tired of always being put down and stepped on because we're different."
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
Kaz's explanation made much more sense than the conclusion she had jumped to, though she felt slightly irritated at herself for having to be corrected, not something she was fond of. She reasoned that she would have to be more patient, collecting more information before she put it together. Nox thought he had finished and had just turned to face the girl once more, when he spoke again. Speaking on behalf of the girl, who now looked slightly put off, he explained about this other group - The Order. Well clearly their leader Syn had been the one who knew about her, she mused. But how did she know? The name ‘Syn’ didn't ring any bells, and, due to her lack of contact to other mutants, it was practically impossible that she had met her before. I spent my life on an entirely different continent-how does she know about me?
Nox resolved to find the source of this leak on her own information at some point, but now she needed to focus on the current circumstances. From what Kaz had said two points still rung in high clear notes in her mind, "total mutant supremacy" and "Family", neither of which she was too keen on. She turned once more to the street as the girl added her opinion, who clearly, despite her dislike for Kaz, believed he had phrased it accurately.
“We work toward having our voices heard and getting ourselves a recognized and respected place in society”, another phrase that now rung inside her mind, this time in a slightly more ominous note. Ideologically it was nice, but to Nox that’s all it would ever be – someone else’s ideal. She surprised even herself in her lack of enthusiasm towards mutant supremacy, which she should be supporting full-hearted. It was just…just that she didn’t want to be heard, she had never had any desire to be recognised, and really she wasn’t concerned if humans ignored her or respected her. And most of all, she liked being hidden, she liked her type of survival - she was alone, just another shadow among the shade in human eyes, and that’s the way she wanted it to be. No supremacy was needed when you could achieve your goals regardless, and the humans still believed in their supremacy, and personally, all she needed was the knowledge that they were wrong. She didn’t care that they didn’t know, in fact it made them all the more petty in her eyes that they couldn’t see the truth.
And family…that strung sore cords deep within her, cords that were yet to heal, and even its mention brought resentment rather than longing. When Kaz had mentioned it she couldn’t help but let a brief snarl appear on the corner of her lips. No, I'm not becoming part of any ‘family’. She had been occpying the silence between the trio with her own thoughts so now she voiced them. Addressing the girl she stated, “Considering your idological aim and your..your family realtionship, I’m inclined to refuse your proposition”. She watched the girl carefully, completely blocking out the throng that still buzzed around her. How would she react? With anger? Acceptance? Would she leave, pled, ask for an explantion, or put up a fight?
Isabel fell silent and waited patiently as Nox mulled things over in her mind. She'd noticed the slightly disapproving look at the mention of family. She took that as an ill boding sign for her little recruiting mission. The girl must have had some bad experience with family. Most mutants did, Isabel included, though she never gave her old family any thought nowadays, not since they'd just up and left her. The way she figured it, if they thought she was worthless enough to leave behind, then they didn't deserve the space in her mind that thoughts about them would take up. Hopefully they'd fade away altogether someday.
Rising back out of her shallow submergence into thought, Isabel focused her attention back on Nox as the girl spoke, quirking a brow slightly at her words before simply giving a little shrug. "Alright then, suit yourself," she responded, having expected such an answer by that time. "If you ever change your mind just drop by the Sanctuary and ask for Syn." With that said, she took a step back away from the girl, glancing at Kaz only briefly before she merged back into the crowd, raising her arm in a short wave before clasping her hands behind her back and casually wandering back toward her home.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
So that was that. Nox was slightly taken back at the girl's acceptance, she had expected something, she didn't quite know what just...just a reaction. I never learnt her name, But then, "What's in a name?" Her thought trailed off into the night, which had arrived on silent wings as they had been talking.
Darkness..there was another interesting topic, she mused, its general misconception, and fear rather amused Nox. There was day and night, but the difference to her was a matter of dimness more than anything else. Due to the ease in which she draw the extra bit of visible light around her. "But then they say it is not the darkness which they fear, but what it conceals." She turned to Kaz and continued “for it conceals the likes of us”. She was thinking aloud now and she knew it, but she was also intrigued to see how her companion would respond.

Kaz nodded slightly as Isabel took her leave, "See ya around Isabel." he smirked, but on the opposite side than Nox was sitting. He watched as Isabel left, and slipped into the crowd, the sea of ants, and disappeared. Silence fell for a mew minutes until Nox began to speak her thoughts out loud. "The darkness hold many secrets. People are afraid of what they don't understand. Its a normal 'human' reaction." Kaz reached into his wallet and pulled out a card. He handed it to Nox, "If you're interested, go there. Ask for Hunter." The Black Talon were the words printed at the top, with a phone number and address. "I may or may not be around, I have my own things I do most of the time." He looked away for a moment before speaking. "Do you have a place to live? Or food to eat?"
Yes..humans, they were so predictable, Nox thought, - they can't understand something, therefore they presume its dangerous. Can they really only see in black and white? She accepted the card and having taken a quick glimpse at it she put it safety into the side pocket of her coat. Are yes the practicalities - food and shelter. Which both came down to money, why the world should be run by such a petty thing she didn't know, she did however know that she would need some. Well there where two ways to go about that: banks or people, and judging by the still evident mass that was milling on the street she decided on the former. "I'll sort that problem out. Do you know where the nearest bank is?" She didn't actually have a bank card, but a long time ago she had found another way.
(OOC: Kaz I hope you don't mind me making my exit)
IC: Having memorised the directions from Kaz, she said a quick farewell, consisting of "See you around", before turning and being engulfed by the sea of ants. She walked down the street, paying no attention to the rest of the world as her mind flew from one thought to another – so much had happened. The distance disappeared under her feet, and she soon found herself in front of the bank. Perfect. She ‘accidentally’ dumped into one man, with a smart air to him – suit, long coat, polished shoes, good watch - who had just finished using the ATM, apologising quickly she carried on walking. His inner coat pocket was now considerably lighter, while her prospects of dinner had just increased with the acquisition of his wallet. A smile played upon her face, I think I’m going to enjoy New York . She lost herself in the crowd and simply followed her feet, disappearing once more.
