The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

”Sounds like a plan to me.” the redhead said as she started to lead the way back towards her apartment. Was it a good idea to point out where she lived to a strange man? Probably not, but Nate had seemed anything but dangerous so far. Besides, it was just the outside of the building, her apartment was one of several inside.
The day was still beautiful, and going into work for a few hours wasn’t going to hurt anything, Quin decided. Working on a case, or doing whatever it was that Ashton thought required her attention would take her mind off of any nerves for the date later that night. Was she nervous? Quin smiled at the notion, it had been a while since she’d gotten to be nervous about a date.
”Thanks for walking me….” she said as they neared the edge of the park. ”I have to admit that I didn’t have a clue this morning would turn out so well.” she admitted, still smiling. There was one more thing that needed done before they parted…sort of to seal the deal.
”If we’re going out later…you’ll probably need my number.”
So this was the moment of truth; he could give her a fake number and just accept that he would have to be more careful walking through the park. Maybe change his hair style and hope to vanish into the crowds. It was a giant city, so he could probably manage to avoid seeing her if he decided to.
Stephen took his phone from his pocket and entered the number she dictated. He looked down at her number for a moment, contemplating. She did not ask for his number in return; the option was still there. She was cute and witty and fun, but no date was worth the increased risk of prison. And yet...
Stephen hit the green "Call" button, a few seconds passed and Quin's phone rang out. "There's my number. You know, if something comes up, or you find yourself missin my sweet, Southern voice." His stupid, risk-taking, slightly smitten Southern voice.

Smiles all around as her phone rang. It was always a good sign for a girl when she got that little courtesy call after giving out her digits. Guys who did that really wanted your number, they weren’t simply taking it to get you off their case. It was probably a good thing she had a way to get ahold of him too, with the way things went at work sometimes.
”I’ll try to get out of there.” she promised. ”I’m just an intern with my unit right now though, so when my partner calls I have to run.”
She could have told him about the case, but that was bad business. Quin wanted the job more than anything in the world, and not even Nate’s pretty face and even prettier accent were going to trick her into showing off and messing things up.
”I might miss that voice though.” she said as they came up to the steps that led into her building.
”So call me. Definitely.” she said with a grin, before turning and jogging up the stairs. After she unlocked the main door she turned and waved before slipping inside and letting it shut behind her. What a morning.
Stephen grinned as she explained why she had to come in to work. "No need to apologize. Have fun saving the world. I'll be waiting."
He waved back as she disappeared into her apartment, the door closing with a bang. He sighed and rested his hands atop his head. He was way too smart to do what he just did and went through with it anyway. He turned to walk away, but looked at the door over his shoulder. He smiled, pulling out his phone one more time. Underneath a contact's name, he could add a note about the person. Walking away, he entered in, "Worth the risk" and stowed away his phone.
