The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

As she returned Stephen's money to his pocket, (establishing that she had no care for his "personal space,") Stephen felt like saying, "Oh, it's fine. Not like it's my money anyway." Unfortunately, whether she bought his story or not, it was improper to go back on his own story.
"Well, I could answer that question, but I guess until I prove it, it's all talk..." They both knew what came next; he was (supposed to be) an up-and-coming businessman who was new to the city, compared to her success and lavish lifestyle. If they wanted to enjoy their night, her place was the destination of choice. "Shall we?"
Mina nodded and headed for the door, expecting him to follow.
"Yes, lets. However I'm afraid my place is out since I'm in the middle of moving and neither place is currently all that habitable. I do hope you don't mind a hotel."
Mina had just the place in mind.
"It's all had to be spur of the moment so I haven't had a chance to book a room yet, though I know just the place. I've had a little stalker trouble lately you see and I'm trying to shake him off." she paused to smirk at Andrew, "Some men just don't know how to take a hint."
And considering that Mina had attempted to strangle Krisz she wasn't sure how much more blunt she could get. However she'd make use of him while she could. And when she could no longer make use of him she might shoot him. But for now she was content with her schemes.
Stephen kept to her side, leaving the bar for greener grass. He did not drink as much as he intended when he entered the bar, but his priority had shifted to leaving red leather on the floor of a fancy hotel. "I'm sure whatever hotel a lovely lady like you has in mind would be more than fine by me."
Elizabeth certainly had an air of mystery; major businesses, possible dark dealings and obsessive stalkers. Either she ran with questionable crowds or she was just that good in bed. "Don't you just hate it when people don't understand the beauty of a... short-term arrangement?"
It was at the end of his sentence that he realized the car she was leading them to. He kept a straight face, but mentally, his jaw dropped.
A slight chuckle escaped her lips. Yes he was just like every other man, easily swayed. The personalities changed and the circumstances but they were all like in that. Well, aside from the ones that preferred the company of another man instead but Mina generally didn't have to worry about that.
"I'm sure you'll be more than satisfied with my choice."
His response to her stalker issues elicited a laugh from her.
"Oh yes. Why some people feel the need for such long term attachments I'll never understand."
Mina caught his eye on her car and grinned like the cat that ate the canary. She walked over to the sleek silver jaguar stroked a hand over it's body lovingly.
"You like it? She's my baby. A treat for myself after a particular deal went very very right."
She practically draped herself over the car for a moment before sliding into the driver's seat and busying herself with calling the hotel she'd decided on to see if they had a particular sort of room available.
"Very right indeed..." He slid into the passenger seat of the silver Jaguar; he kept himself at a level of moderate success and indulgence, but the feel of luxury made it tempting to play the game harder. "As far as treats go, this certainly beats out candy and ice cream."
She was busy on her phone essentially telling the hotel what was going to happen, and Stephen knew she was not the type to be interrupted. As the call wrapped up, he drew his finger up and down her thigh. "All this lap of luxury treatment is gonna spoil me. Maybe I'm gonna have to play the game a little better now."
Once she finished up on the phone Mina smirked at Andrew.
"Oh I don't know. You don't look like you could handle my line of work."
She allowed his hand to do as it pleased while she put the car into gear and got out onto the roads.
"By the way, we'll be staying at the Mandarin Oriental. The morning sunrise in one of their rooms overlooking Central Park is quite stunning I'm told."
It wasn't cheap but Mina didn't really believe in living cheap. Until she'd found a new place live and had gotten it fitted out as she saw fit any rendezvous she indulged in would have to be someplace other than her own warehouse. Perhaps she'd see about keeping a room there regularly until all her preparations were completely.
Stephen chuckled at her assessment. "You'd be amazed what I can handle." He may not have the sort of wealth Elizabeth did, but his career path had him lying, stealing and when necessary, fleeing the country. She may be ruthless, but a businesswoman's dealings were much different than his own.
Elizabeth was right about one thing: she was not one to disappoint. "Well then, I guess I have two things to look forward to." He loosened his tie, ready to get comfortable and thoroughly enjoy his night. He had considered looking into Elizabeth's company earlier, but he was too recognizable to her now, and besides that, if he stole from this woman, she might actually find a way to leave him dead.
Without outright telling him the truth of her occupation there was no way he'd believe her. Andrew may have possessed the compromised morals of a successful businessman but she doubted he would be comfortable with killing for a living. Not that that was all she did but it certainly paid the best and Mina wasn't so foolish as to restrict herself to a certain type of job. The word mercenary existed for people like her that would do literally anything, legal or illegal, for a price. She nodded at his assessment.
"Indeed you do."
Despite not having been to that particular hotel before Mina guided the car through the streets with ease. She knew where she was going and therefore didn't have to pay too much attention to that. Instead she occupied herself by further studying her passenger and the buildings around them as they drove. Perhaps she'd sight someplace that would be worth investigating for a new place to live.
The hotel was outside of the area Stephen had already committed to memory, so he was distracted during the drive, adding the new streets to his mental map. It was never a problem to be aware of the ins and outs of getting around a dangerous city, and depending on how much he enjoyed the Mandarin Oriental, (and he anticipated enjoying it quite a bit.)
Elizabeth drove exactly as she seemed to do everything in life: fast and dominating. It did not take long before they had reached the hotel. True to expectations, it was huge, magnificent, and had a lobby larger than some homes. "So, do you take every man you fancied at a bar to a place like this, or should I feel special?" It was a joke of a question, of course. To her, he was just another guy who caught her interest at the bar and happened to be attractive enough to claim for the night, and he was fine with that. By morning, he would not be significant enough to think about again, much less look up to cross-reference his story.
They arrived at the hotel and Mina tossed her keys to the valet with a glare that clearly promised hellfire and brimstone if her car was at all out of sorts when she returned for it in the morning. She and Andrew then continued on into the hotel and she favored him with a wry smirk upon hearing his comment.
"Feel special I suppose. Most men just end up with me at their place for the night."
She walked up to the desk as though she owned the place and settled the matter of the room. After a minute's conversation with the clerk there she had their key cards. One of the pieces of plastic she handed over to Andrew. From the desk she made for the elevators, simply expecting Andrew to follow her. There was little need to ensure that he was doing so visually by now.
Ha, his place for the night would have went poorly. Stephen's living requirements were not high-maintenance, as long as he had enough space and a television to keep an eye on the news and sports. Certainly not what she would expect from the up-and-coming success Andrew was supposed to be. The more fiscally responsible he was with his living arrangement, the more he could enjoy his time outside of the apartment. "My temporary apartment wouldn't do a beauty like you justice."
Stephen gladly slipped the key card into his pocket before following her to the elevator. The button hit was unsurprisingly high on the list of floor numbers, so they had a short time to themselves at this time of night. What was the point of waiting for the room when the two of them were walking around like the hotel was theirs? He took her by the shoulder, turning her so that her back was against the wall. He pressed himself against her, moving in for a taste of those ruby red lips.
"This is why I chose here. No reason not to treat ourselves."
Andrew's boldness was not entirely unexpected. He'd taken a small liberty in the car after all. That he would decide that an empty elevator was the perfect place to start off the night's activities was not surprising to her. She happily obliged him. After all, she was here to enjoy herself as much as she was sure he was. She kissed the man quite thoroughly for several minutes until their floor was announced with a quiet chime. Mina easily extricated herself from between Andrew and the wall and grabbed his collar. It was by this that she led him out into the hall.
"Come along now. We'll finish that in the room."
A short walk from the elevator put them at their room where Mina opened the door to let them in.
Stephen would gladly be taken by the collar into the room she had waiting. The bed was decadent, there was a jacuzzi and the view was perfect. The moment the door closed, the kissing resumed, more fervored than the elevator. Stephen slipped his suit off and tossed it on the nearby loveseat.
What came next was a bit of a blur to him; he remembered a jacuzzi, the bed and a few other memorable locations. She mentioned wanting to watch the sunrise, but considering it was almost dawn when they finally decided to sleep, he would have to work his way in again if he really wanted to enjoy the view.
The dawn rose to find Mina standing at the window, watching it. 'They' hadn't lied in their assessment. It was quite a sight. Mina had been showered and dressed for about ten minutes now. She was merely enjoying the view before she left. Krisz would start searching for her if she was gone too long. She couldn't have the little sneak finding her here. She grabbed the last of her things from the room and headed down to the desk. She was soon checked out and picking up her car from the valet. A matter of minutes later she was spending down the roads, headed for her warehouse.
She didn't think all that much of Andrew as she drove. Mina had enjoyed their rendezvous but she had no intention of ever seeing the man again. She stopped a small distance from the warehouse and changed back into the outfit she'd worn when she'd originally left before continuing on to her home. No need for Krisz to get suspicious yet.
Stephen was never conscious enough to enjoy the city sunrise. Trained to be a light sleeper, he woke up when he felt Elizabeth get out of the bed. The view he decided to enjoy, half asleep, was his bed partner going about her routine until she was finally dressed and ready to go. He did not say goodbye; it was easier to pretend to be asleep.
He did go back to sleep for a few more hours, enjoying the comfortable bed while he could. Eventually, he woke up, cleaned himself up and walked around the hotel. He looked into the amenities, (very nice,) and grabbed a quick breakfast before going back to his apartment. He did not, ideally, set up business meetings on two different days, so he had a relaxing free day to look forward to.
