The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

So basically I've had an idea bouncing around my head for awhile about how to get my little loner-who-has-no-idea-he's-a-mutant-yet out there a little better. The more I think about it, though, the less specific it gets, so I'll post the totally not set in stone possibilities here, and we'll see what comes out of it.
Basically, the only set in stone thing I have is: Music at a Nightclub. No more, no less. Just a nice, vague, open ended 'it's a night club, and there's specific music happening'. Specific basically because Davi wouldn't bother going to a nightclub if someone he enjoyed the music of wasn't performing there. He doesn't have much in the way of money and a $20 cover plus drinks to keep him hydrated is a pretty frivolous expense that could be better spent on food, bills, or more music to listen to in the comfort of his apartment.
The original idea was that one of his favorite techno DJs was going to be manning the music at nightclub vaguely nearby Davi's home, and that other PCs would go, too, for whatever personal reasons he had.
When I heard about the new plotline, with the strange blast of mutant energy that's causing anti-mutant riots and rallies, however, I thought of a different possibility. Since Davi is unaware of his mutation, the whole 'mutant rights' and 'anti-mutant' agendas are quite under the radar for him. So long as the lyrics aren't outright hate lyrics, he likely wouldn't even recognize an 'anti-mutant' flair in any of his music. This could lead to an interesting circumstance in that the club he goes to dislikes mutants and specifically got the artist to come and start a rally there, which then would be broken up by whoever would be so inclined to do so(I heard tell of the Order messing with anti-mutant stuff for fun and carnage).
So what does everyone think of all this? I know Meld has a possible idea involving this, but I'll leave it up to her to say it here, instead of regurgitating it and probably getting it wrong.
Consider me interested. One of Juka's passions is music and clubbing, so he would be very much likely to be at a club like that. Although his mutation isn't visible (unless he does something stupid) he is a part of an all mutant band so it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for someone to actually recognize him and know him to be a mutant. So long as the night wasn't specifically advertised as some kind of anti-mutant rally it would be realistic for him to be there and could lead to something pretty interesting.
Oh I'm sure it wouldn't be advertised as such. While the anti/rights thing is a nonissue for him, he does believe that people are people, and no one should be discriminated against, so he wouldn't go to anything that was blatantly a 'hate group'. Also, I would think the hate groups would be smarter than being blatant when there are known, violent, dangerous mutants that don't bother to follow a law around them.
That sounds like it would work out quite great, especially when things started to go a bit downhill.
I'm in as well. Definitely something that could be epic. Speedy may need to have gone with a Mansionite though, since his parents clearly asked the Staff of the Mansion to not let him out of their sight... He'd be pretty pissed at the idea of having entered the location of an Anti-Mutant rally and he'd act upon it.
Juka lives at the Mansion and he'd be willing to get you out unseen haha. Well, he would should his opinion of you change from his first impression all ready established. Maybe we should do an intermediate thread together, see if we can get them to actually like each other and if that works he may be able to escort you (with or without staff permission) to the club?
Why don't these new human power posers just go to Club Evo? It already exists for a scene backdrop and those drugged weekend warriors could mutate their night away among the real deal.
I'm not sure what you mean, Garrett; are you talking about the X-gene drugs? 'Cause I hadn't actually planned to have that involved at all, nor do I even know what Club Evo is... ...Though the drug being present could put an interesting twist on the scene *Considers, and goes to find out what Club Evo is*
Club Evo is basically a mutant club. I'm not sure its entirely appropriate for this particular idea though, since I'm not sure why an anti-mutant band or DJ would play in such a place nor why someone who doesn't know they are a mutant would be attracted to such a place. It is a pretty neat club though.
Then no, I don't think Club Evo would work, at all. Though... Juka, do you know how many people are doing drug dissemination threads? If it's more than you and whoever is partnered with Meld, do you think it would be interesting to pilfer a few for this?
Also; as a note, it's gonna be an 18+ show. This doesn't mean under 18s can't actually get in, it just means you're gonna have to be willing and able to procure a good fake ID.
I'm pretty sure there are others but I'm not too sure who. You may want to ask around the Cbox or ask one of the mods. Either way, should be very interesting even without the drug making its way inside.
Well, I'm still in. And I'm sure Juka will change his mind about Speed throughout the party... He'll actually lighten up a lot and be nice for a change. Right now he just has this mindset that the Mansion is all work and no play, and that everyone are stuck up know-it-alls that have no idea what a good time is like. Chances are he'll prove himself wrong pretty fast.
Also, for Lori... Would Meld have spoken to her about Speed? If so, that could be pretty interesting...
Mmmkay, I'll try and get this started up tomorrow, if that's alright with everyone. I'm feeling a little off-kilter tonight. Should I leave it open, or make it for Speedman, Meld, and Noel/Lori?
Awesome, take your time. I can't speak for everyone, but if I were you I'd put it as 'open' just in case people decide the thread looks awesome and they want to join, which I'm sure will likely happen.
