The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Black whipped his shotgun out with a flick of the wrist and trained it on the young, impudent, man. "Now," Black snarled, "tell me where she is!" Black took a step toward the man. It wouldn't help him be more accurate, but Black figure it might make the blast radius more centered on this weakling. Better blast radius, more bullets. Black liked the thought. More bullets, more blood. Black liked this thought even more. This man had fear written all over him, his face was as white as a sheet. "You know what I mean. That pathetic creature you were pushing through the alley. Tell me where she is. If you aren't going to tell me, I'll just kill you. It's only a matter of time before I find her again anyway."

What an interesting day this has been... Zeke thought, as the tears started to come to his eyes again. He choked them back silently and began to focus once more. "I see that there is no use in reasoning with you. You seem to have little reason, just lust for violence. Very well, it's violence you'll get... you made the first move by training your gun on me."
In one swift smooth motion, Zeke's left hand flew into his pocket, while he kept one eye on the man. His hand hit it's destination and in a milisecond he retrieved a small vial of water and tossed into into the air. Buying some time, while the vial was airborne, his hands flew outward toward the enemy, and he created a giant block of sulfur above the shotgun man's head. The man would have to move, or die, within a nanosecond he would have to choose to take the shot or take a trip to Veryhotfireforeverville.
As the vial collided with the ground, it smashed open, and the contents spilled into the street. With a couple smooth sweeps of the hands, Ezekiel mixed the sulfur with water instantly, creating a sulfur cloud around himself, and since he was standing in the light, it created an amazingly bright glare. If the man happened to be watching, he would be blinded temporarily.
Falling back, Zeke rolled backwards and finally stood, waiting to see if the assailant had survived. He kept his sulfur ready to counter anything the enemy might throw at him. Or shoot at him...
Black looked up briefly to see a giant block of... something, form above his head and he immediately fired. As he emptied a round, a blinding light stunned him and he was momentarily taken back. He felt a crushing pain as the block fell on him. The Brightness that had just just blinded him was overtaken by darkness. He saw nothing and felt nothing. Then another flash. This one was brighter than that puny mutant could imagine. But it was not visible to Black's eyes. It was entirely in his mind. All of this happened in a second.

A shot rang through the air. The instant Zeke heard it coming he dived to the ground and threw up a huge wall of sulfur in front of his body. It wouldn't do the best, but it would help. A crash sounded through the alley as the bullets hit the wall, and kept going. Then, utter silence.
Zeke lay there stunned. He didn't know what happened. He felt nothing in that moment. Nothing. Then it hit him, a sharp pain in his right arm. He glanced over and saw that a bullet had grazed him, and he was bleeding sharply. Wincing a little, he ripped a little fabric off his sock and then used the sulfur to cement the fabric up against the wound. It would stay, and his bleeding would stop momentarily. He had been lucky.
Instantly he dissipated the wall.
Zeke looked up and saw that his block of sulfur had fallen. It had dropped onto the shotgun man's head, and the man lay crushed underneath his power. Zeke came closer, and found the body lying there. Dead. The man was quite dead.
A voice... "You must leave!" Beth.
Spinning around, Ezekiel ran as fast as he could down the alley. the sulfur kept spilling from his hands as he ran. Now the tears came, flowing fast and hard and cold. He had to get out of here. He had to leave.
Running... running. Through the alleys and down the streets. Running from the past few moments and minutes and hours of terror. Running from what had already been, and could never change.
So he ran as the tears filled his eyes. He had to reach the place Beth had told him of... the safe place. The place where he could defend himself and keep Beth's hiding place a secret. He needed to insure that none found her grave, and the best way to do that was to lay low himself. Running...
As he ran, another vision flooded his mind. It was rapid, quick, and sadistic, but it had implications. A man still wanted to kill Ezekiel White, as he laid his foot on Zeke's chest. In a flash, the dream ended and Zeke found himself still running, deleriously. He was so tired that he was beginning to dream even while he ran. And he was becoming insane. The massive ammount of stress had been far too much for his nerves, and now it all came crashing in. His mind began to turture him as he ran.
Beth is dead. Dead. Dead. Dead.
Nooo!!!
(OOC: Here's where Zeke's part in this RP ends. Thanks all, this part segways nicely into the beginning of Splitting the Union, so follow it up by reading it there if you're interested.)
