The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>>"Oh he's not happy to see me either. I make him work all the time. I think he's tired of seeing me walk in with some new damage. Stupid doctors and their lectures."
"Amen" Maya grinned, raising her glass "To DocProf and his lectures. Where would we be without him?"
Probably six feet under. Probably deeper.
Andrew was pouting. It made him look silly. Maya giggled, not even bothered by the fact that he was checking her out. For most people the gender thing took some getting used to. As long as he did not start groping her, they were peachy.
"Ya're drunk" she grinned at him "Finish your beer an' I'll take you home."

Drew raised his glass to the toast.
"To DocProf. I'd probably be dead a few times over with him. Or at least fairly maimed."
Maya then told him point blank he was drunk and Drew had to agree. He didn't feel at all like his usual self so reason said, since he was drinking alcohol, that he was probably drunk. Or he'd made another strange promise but who knew.
"Ok."
He grinned at her and drained the glass. Somehow he managed to get off of the barstool without falling down and waved down the barkeep to pay the tab. After all, he did say he'd pay didn't he? Oh well. Even if he hadn't he would pay anyway.
>>"To DocProf. I'd probably be dead a few times over with him. Or at least fairly maimed."
"Wouldn't we all" Maya grinned. This was nice. Getting beaten up and then getting drunk, this was proper rebound, and it almost made her forget why she was getting beaten up and drunk in the first place. She giggled again.
>>"Ok."
Andrew was being a nice drunk. He finished his beer - waste not - and then paid the tab, and demonstrated a fair ability to stand on his own feet.
"C'mon big boy, time to go home" she grinned, taking him by the hand and pulling him towards the bathroom, ignoring the glare they got from the bartender. "I'd pay to know what he's thinkin' right now... sratch that, I'd probably pay not to know."
Dragging Andrew back through the mirrors took longer than she thought. Yes, you can make a wrong turn in mirrorland too.
Finally, they stumbled out of the mirrors in the Mansion hallway of the guys' dorm; Maya caught Andrew by the shoulder. She was still chuckling.

He nodded in response to her agreement. Drew hated to think how bad off he'd be without DocProf. Not that he'd voluntarily gone to see the man in a while. Most of Maya's next couple of statements were lost in the blur of her tugging him toward the bathroom. This was something he needed to work on. Better alcohol tolerance would be a good thing.
"Big boy?" he asked with a stupid grin.
When he realized that Maya had mentioned the bartender he turned to see the man glaring at them. Drew decided it was an incredibly bright idea to wave at him with the arm Maya wasn't holding and then stick his tongue out at him. Oh yes, he'd be getting excellent service if he came back here. After what seemed like a longer trip through the mirrors this time they ended up in the mansion in the boy's dorm hallway.
Her comment puzzled him and that showed.
"Why?"
Drew couldn't think of a darn reason why she'd hate him tomorrow. After all, he was the one who'd paid for the whole thing.
"Why?" Maya smirked as she half dragged half walked him down the hall "Because I'm gonna hurt in places I don't even know exist, I'm gonna look like somethin' fresh out of a meat grinder, I'm gonna have a hangover, an' it's much easier to blame someone else than to blame myself, not to mention more fun. Which one's your room?"
Once Andrew managed to point out his door, Maya walked him in and dropped him onto the bed.
"Bedtime, big boy, don' make me tuck you in" she grinned, blowing her hair out of her eyes "Y'all right?"

Maya listed off all the reasons why she'd hate him tomorrow. Huh, put that way it sounded perfectly reasonable!
"If you hate me tomorrow does that mean we can do this again tomorrow?"
After all, what better way to relieve frustration against someone than by punching them silly? She dragged him to his room, something that he wouldn't have suspected her to be capable of if he didn't know how hard Maya could hit, and dropped him on his bed. Now that she mentioned it he was pretty sleepy. Drew yawned and blinked at her.
"Mmm fine. Night night."
With that Drew yawned again and nodded off to sleep fairly quickly. Maya could see herself out. He had some beers to sleep off.
