The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>>"I can't say I'm surprised. Tsun has always been quick to dispose of things he views as a threat. Someone in his ranks probably pointed out how many secrets of his I know. Turnabout is fair play as they say. I think his rivals will be getting a glut of new information on his gang."
She was not surprised. Why was she not surprised? Women in her... line of work alwas looked surprised in the movies, just before they got killed (and sometimes eve after). Krisz struggled to prop himself up on his elbows to look at her. She turned to look down at him, and he was suddenly aware that she could not only see him, she could see all of him. He turned red. That was the second best thing to turning into sound, which he was still too exhausted for.
>>"I think I should say thank you. I wouldn't have this information without you. Now I can ensure that they get what they deserve and that I'll stay alive another day to work again."
She chuckled a little when Krisztian seemed to realize that he was entirely naked in front of her. He was indeed shy if he was blushing about being seen naked by a beautiful woman. That passed and his reaction to her thanking him had her laughing. It was smooth and melodic, the closest she would get to riotous laughter while she was controlling herself.
"Is that what you thought? I assure you that no simple woman of that persuasion would earn what I do."
A smirk played across her face.
"It does make me wonder though...was that perhaps wishful thinking on your part? I could play that role you know."
Mina walked across the floor until she was standing over Krisztian. She lowered herself to kneel on the floor beside him with the smirk still decorating her lips.
>>"Is that what you thought? I assure you that no simple woman of that persuasion would earn what I do."
She laughed. Krisz arched an eyebrow. The other one. That had not been arched before. So now he looked all... wide-eyed. She had a pretty laughter though. Just for the record.
>>"It does make me wonder though...was that perhaps wishful thinking on your part? I could play that role you know. No one would even hear us."
"Nooo... nah, it was pure logic" he managed to point out, still quite red in the face "You play roles, you change your name, you hang out with rich men, you get paid in cash. Annnd, you are hot. See the pattern there? I cannot say I have known someone of that... umm, persuasion before, believe me, waaaay out of my price range, but, yeah. You could definitely be one. It fit the picture. Iiiii mean, not like you, you know, look like a hooker or anything, that's not what I mean at all. You are very classy, for... umm, whatever you are. Because you are something, right? And I don't want to go into what else you might be, beacause I can't really think of anything that would, be quite as, interesting, annnnd I'm gonna shut up now."
Mina knelt by his side while he explained his reasoning. It made sense after a fashion. From an outsider's perspective it was a reasonable assumption to make. Of course pointing out that she was hot didn't hurt a bit. It didn't particularly help him either but it didn't hurt. That grin refused to leave her face once he finished talking.
"Oh indeed, I am something alright."
Then she stood up and walked back to the sink, picking up her purse and case.
"But I won't be telling you what exactly I am. Take what you know and go from there. You're a writer. I'm sure you can come up with a good story."
It would be interesting to see what he came up with next. Perhaps he'd guess true about her profession. That would be a little disappointing since then she'd have to kill him.
"Can you shift back yet? I'll be leaving shortly. I need to contact a few people before Tsun realizes his plans for me have leaked. With luck I can let his secrets leak and then lay low while his enemies create havoc for him."
There was an unspoken invitation to join her. He'd follow her regardless so she'd rather it be her idea than his.
>>"Oh indeed, I am something alright. But I won't be telling you what exactly I am. Take what you know and go from there. You're a writer. I'm sure you can come up with a good story."
That. Was a challenge. Right there. The writer in Krisz that had been... off duty ever since the shift, was back, demanding pen and paper, or at least a half decent laptop, to start making up theories about Mina and her past, present and future.
>>"Can you shift back yet? I'll be leaving shortly. I need to contact a few people before Tsun realizes his plans for me have leaked. With luck I can let his secrets leak and then lay low while his enemies create havoc for him."
"All right" Krisz took a deep breath and allowed his body to once again dissolve into a low hum. It was good to be alive. "I'll be around" he told her before she walked out of the bathroom "You know those mystery novels where the hot woman with know name waltzes in and out of the picture and things will never be the same, and she will show up at the oddest moments with a clue and a mysterious smile and even long after everything is done at the bottom os his heart the hero will never be sure who she was or if she said anything at all that was even true? Well. I hate those stories."
