The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

God. How long had it been since Agnes so much as thought of the name Dante? Maybe a year after he ran away from home was the last. It made the most sense. Ever since he ran from home, Agnes was angry. Not at her parents, where her anger should have been directly, but at Dante for leaving her alone with them. For a long time she grimaced at the thought of him. About the choice words that she would have for him should he ever attempt to step back into her life. But after some time…she realized he had every reason to leave home. As a matter of fact there were many times she wished he had taken her with him.
But that was water under the bridge. She didn’t even know if he was still alive. But whether or not he was, Agnes still forgave him. She hoped that he found whatever peace he was looking for when he had ran away; whether it be among the living or not…
A sudden cold feeling of fear for Dante’s wellbeing washed over her, but Agnes was quick to dismiss it. He was well. He had to be. He was always so much stronger than her and if she could survive for nearly a year on the streets, then he was definitely thriving.
>> "That's hard…But I'm glad you remember him and the good memories. That's how to do it. Shows strength.”
Agnes smiled lightly in response. She never saw herself as strong. She was a survivor and little more than that. But, instead of arguing with Ami, (which she was guessing would probably be a bad idea in the first place, the runaway nodded gratefully.
“Yeah. He’ll always have a place in my heart.” she grinned. But who knows? There was always the possibility that the next corner she rounded…he would be waiting for her. She sighed as she turned her attention back to Ami. “What about your brother? You must care a lot about him to pester him so much.”
Amelia nodded. "Yeah. He's a goofball, but he's my goofball. I like to give him a hard time."
Her voice dropped just a little in tone as she continued. "The setting him up on dates... it isn't just because I'm a mischievous troublemaker, you know. He hasn't really been in a serious relationship (that I know of) (and I am quick to research these things) since his last one... and that was back when he was in high school. I worry."
She shrugged. "Maybe too much. But eh."
Glancing back at Agnes as self-realization dawned at what she'd said, she added with a frank smirk and a light chuckle. "Totally not fair, by the way. Him never liking the girls I send his way. They're usually pretty. Why is that not his type?"

Agnes smiled a bit. “Sometimes worrying too much can be a good thing. Just shows that you care,” she replied.
The runaway had to admit that Ami really was sweet. She did deeply care for her brother, it was just unfortunate that it seemed to come off as pestering to him. Then again, maybe attempting to set him up on dates with whatever pretty thing that came along in a skirt was not the best way to show him either. Eh, Agnes was sure that eventually Ami would hit a formula that worked. After all, brother/sister relationships were always a work in progress.
>> "Totally not fair, by the way. Him never liking the girls I send his way. They're usually pretty. Why is that not his type?"
“The audacity of him,” Agnes said with a small chuckle. When Ami came to her question though, Agnes only shrugged. “I wish I knew. Maybe…I dunno, maybe he’s just looking for something more than just ‘pretty’. Maybe...” Agnes sighed as she drifted into thoughts of Rhythm, “…he’s looking for someone to lose himself in. Someone he thinks about before he goes to bed and first thing in the morning. Someone he misses the second they walk out the door, someone with whom he knows that with a single glance and a single smile that there will be no question how much they care about him.” Agnes sighed as she shook away thoughts of Rhythm and glanced at Ami. She gave another shrug on his shoulders. “Or maybe he’s secretly dating someone you don’t know about.”
>>“Sometimes worrying too much can be a good thing. Just shows that you care."
Amelia shrugged, but she smiled. Could have been that. Could have been a lot of things. She did care, though. So. Whatever.
Why Aurum never went for the girls she tried to set him up with, she couldn't fathom. Agnes agreed, too. Absolutely crazy! Although she had some good commentary...
"Maybe he is," Amelia replied. "Although I like the first thing you said better. About losing one's self in someone. Just more romantic."
There was something there, in that line of thought about romance. Agnes wasn't sharing it, but there was definitely something that had caused her think along those lines. Or maybe she was just a hopeless romantic at heart. Amelia wasn't going to pry.
"Today was fun," she decided. "Thanks. I should probably be heading back to Aurum."
