Character
Personality: Krisz has been a loner most of his life. He is very creative and enthusiastic, but not used to putting up with other people. Social awkwardness makes him talk a great deal more in stressed situations than he should. He is also used to thinking out loud, which can result in more awkwardness (not to mention he is so deeply bi-lingual he often does it in English, which is why many people think he is a snob). He can easily get over-enthusiastic about his favorite topics, but there are also a lot of things that send him into a sulking mood if mentioned (such as, the wheelchair. Or writers who are more successful than him. Mainly J.K. Rowling). He has all the ego issues of a fairly talented but not fairly appreciated artist. The people he likes, he likes with a passion, and the same goes for the opposite. He generally likes children, but has no clue what to say to them. He gets bored of polite conversation, for he believes he can always come up with 'a better topic than that'. Ever since his mutant powers manifested, he has been trying to cope, which in his case means shifting between long periods of pure enthusiasm punctuated by short periods of utter panic. Hobbies/ Interests: Krisz (Will) is more than a bit of a nerd. He had stay-at-home hobbies, such as TV shows (quality only, no soap operas), video games (no shooting, lots of RP, anything well written), various online activities, reading. All those together are responsible for him being bilingual.
Job or part time job and description: Krisz is a professional writer (well... Will is). And yes, he actually publishes stuff. He mostly writes moderatly popular fantasy, with the occasional crime novel, science-fiction or things labeled 'other stuff' (guilty pleasure, don't ask) His most well-known novel is a Medieval fantasy and although it has its friendly fanfiction community and everything, it is still waiting to be discovered by the grater public (i.e. everyone outside Hungary). Only a matter of time. Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Hates the fact that he is in a wheelchair, and is afraid of having any other disabilities (going blind etc.). Fears that he will never be famous (enough) as a writer. Also afraid of little dogs, don't ask.
Special talents: Krisz if a fairly talented writer, and also has a very good memory for facts, dates, poems and anything that can be quoted or recited. Also, languages. Speaks English pretty well (although with a recognizable accent), and bits and pieces from many European languages.
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Good, as in, aspiring superhero and savior of the world
Mutations
Mutation description: Krisz can shift into pure sound. When he does, his body vanishes from sight, and only his voice remains, representing the whole of him. Strengths: When in sound form, Krisz has all the qualities of sound. That means traveling with the speed of sound, and also in any way that conveys sound, including telephones. He can even go through walls, if they are not sound proof. Also, he has a more acute sense of hearing when in sound form, because he senses sounds in a much more physical way (see Weaknesses). While in sound form, Krisz does not eat or sleep. Weaknesses: When he shifts, only his body turns into sound, nothing else. Yes that includes clothing. And anything that stops sound stops Jeff too - if a room is sound proof, he cannot get out, or in. Also, when in sound form, he must consciously and continuosly make some kind of a sound - the mutation compels him to do so. In other words, he cannot stay quiet, and because the only sound he can make without a body is his voice, that literally means he is unable to shut up. If he is not talking, he is whistling, or humming, or singing, or making funny noises. The point is, he cannot make any sound or voice that he can't make when in his human form. He can shout as loud as a human can, or whisper, or whistle, or click, but nothing out of the human range. Which also means that when he is present, he is constantly audible in some way. That takes the fun out of spying on people. Also, when in sound form, other sounds have a stronger effect on him - very loud noises like sirens are painful for him and make him flee or move away, and creepy noises (nails on glass etc.) feel like physical pain as well. Also, while in sound form, he cannot make physical contact with anything or anyone (cannot pick up things etc.)
Secondary mutation description: None Strengths: Weaknesses:
Fighting style
Explanation: Krisz does not fight, but he has been planning on becoming the first wheelchair martial artist in superhero history. The training program is purely theoretical as of now. Pros for fighting style: None. Cons for fighting style: He gets beaten up.
Faction Allegiance Unaffiliated
History Of Your Character Krisz was born with a disability that makes it near impossible (and awfully painful) for him to walk, or move his legs; because of that, he's spent all his life in a wheelchair. His parents got divorced when he was still too young to remember, and his father got custody - a quiet, kind man who had a book shop and great love for his books and his son. Young Krisz lived the life of the school's nerd, complete with pranks and cruel jokes and broken hearts, and he got out of it just fine, thank you very much. He started writing in high school, and kept going all through the university (Literature and Creative Writing). His father comes from a wealthy and educated family; wealth trickled away through history, but he made sure his son got all the education he needed. After publishing his first novel, Krisz got the hang of being a writer, and a publishing company picked up on his talent. This happened when he was 22; ever since then he published a book regularly almost every year, and now makes a living of writing. Not a fortune, but enough for a small apartment and a nice nerdy life, girlfirend not included. Thing changed when his mutation kicked in. He was working on his new book, reading a chapter aloud, trying words and sentences to see how they sounded; got fairly enthusiastic, going over and over the text, and then suddenly, the pages were on the floor, the clothes were on the wheelchair, and Krisz was in the air. At first he thought he died; it took him most of the afternoon to confirm the opposite. Another day to get the hang of being a voice in thin air. He went from utter panic to enthusiasm - in his new form, he could move freely. No damn wheelchair. By the second day he confirmed he was a mutant; by the third he confirmed that he was friggin' stuck in this form. He spent a week experimenting; sometimes he tried to switch back, but did not really put an effort into it; most of the time he roamed, farther and farther away from the apartment, and enjoyed being a single voice that goes wherever he wants. Then, a week later, still stuck, he decided to take matters into his own invisible hands, and headed for America. Americans know stuff about genetics. And mutants. They definitely know a lot about mutants. As of now, Krisz is still stuck as a single voice, roaming New York City, having the time of his life.
Roleplay Where did you learn about this site?: My roomie brought me here a long time ago Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who: Mirror, Muse, Mama T Sample RP:
On the first day, he thought he was dead. On the thirteenth day, everyone else thought he was dead. Dad came into the apartment with the spare key and found the clothes. Of course, he was not at home at the time. When he returned and saw them packing, he decided not to talk. Dad had a weak heart, hearing a ghost would have killed him. So, Krisz just whistled quietly around the chimney, and then he left. "I am dead" he muttered, sounding more cheerful than he intended, as he hummed his way down the streets of New York. He always wanted to come to New York City. "I am dead in New York. That would make a good title now. Dead in New York. Has someone already written it? Better not. I bet I am the only ghost here. The only immigrant ghost anyway. Illegal alien, yeah! No visa, no paperwork, no baggage, no uncomfortable airplane seats, how awesome is that?! I could get into anywhere. OOh I know, to the museum at night. I bet I wouldn't even trigger an alarm. I could be the ultimate thief! Except, I cannot lift a thing. Bummer. At least I am not in the chair anymore. You hear that, you cruel, beautiful universe? I am not in the chair! Hah! I beat it! For the better, obviously, if I am a superhero. Mutants with awesome powers like mine are bound to be heroes. I mean, who could be a hero in a wheelchair? Puh-lease. I wanna see them try and punch me now! Hah! New York City, here I come! What a story! THIS. IS. AWESOME!!!! Whoooo!" An old lady on the sidewalk turned her head, slightly alarmed. Wind whistled in the alley. A rather cheerful sounding wind.
