The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The situation was not getting better for any of them. Not the boys, not the girl and certainly not him. How was it that every single time he tried to be nice to people, this would happen. Ungrateful people were everywhere, if one chose to believe different, then you’d be pretty stupid. A gloomy stormy atmosphere had laid itself over the entire area, not because of his little weather trick, but because of the girl’s attitude. If this was any other day he would just have spilled a drink on her, before punching her hard in the face, not even caring about the fact that she was a girl. His face was not responding to anything, it was all a blank expression. He didn’t feel anything now, emotion wise he was just a cold stone.
>> “You, are an idiot. The absurdly stubborn arguing was bad enough, even if it’s common. It is not common to deliberately put yourself at risk for no reason. Now go away.”
Did she just call him an idiot? He wasn’t deliberately putting himself at risk too much. So much for being nice, karma would hit her back at one point, he was sure of it. His blank expression turned to annoyance, with a mixture of anger. Why was she doing this? He could have been of some help, even if he didn’t like her at all. For all it was worth he should have just joined the guys in striking her down, he hadn’t been tempted to hit someone like that in a long time. “What asking your boyfriend to go away? That isn’t very nice of you.” The short one said. Alexander could see how his fists were tightening, but at this moment he didn’t care. The tall one bumped his elbow into the other’s arm. “Looks like it’s gonna rain” He told him.
Gosh they were stupid, it was clearly a fake that would probably be mentioned on the news as some freaky weather thing. He didn’t care about that now. He narrowed his eyes at the girl. “Not her boyfriend, I very much doubt that anyone would want to be the boyfriend of anything of the likes of her.” With that rain began falling hard just before his feet. He on the other hand was not even touched by a single drop. The rain stopped as quickly as it had started. “Well if you want me to go, I’ll go.” He turned, taking a few steps before turning again. “Do whatever you want with her, hit her, maul her, molest her, I don’t care.” Walking out he couldn’t help but to feel the wave of guilt washing upon him. He turned around the corner of a building, took out his mobile and dialled 911.
((Warning: Um, yes. Allison kind of snaps and goes at least borderline suicidal here, so be careful of that....))
“Do whatever you want with her, hit her, maul her, molest her, I don’t care.”
The comment really shouldn’t have hit Allison as hard as it did. Considering everything else she’d shrugged off, and the total lack of any reason for the words themselves the stick, they shouldn’t have done anything but maybe lower her opinion of the boy who’d said them.
They stuck anyway.
Do whatever you want...
Allison’s smile was still there, but purely from habit; it was plastic, molded, and trained; no one who knew anything about people would mistake it for meaning any more than the smile on a doll. “As you say, then.” Her voice followed her face; light and pleasant, but artificial and empty.
...hit her, maul her, molest her...
“So even the freak’s brother can’t wait to abandon her.” The teen’s voice was gleeful, but Allison ignored him, watching the boy walk away until he disappeared around a corner before turning back to the teens.
...I don’t care.
“Well? I know you heard him. Do whatever you want.” Her voice was still light, but the emptiness was replaced by a faint hectic edge of laughter, and her smile had gained a similar mocking twist. Allison knew the mockery was all for herself; the teens probably didn’t, from the glares she received.
I don’t care.
Knowing that being punched hurt, and idle wondering if the first had dislocated her jaw as she found herself on the ground at the base of the tree again didn’t mean she actually felt anything more than numb, or cared when her blank stare further enraged the two teens to kicking instead of punching.
It had only been about a minute since he had called the police and for medical assistant. No way were they going to be there any time soon. That’s how the system worked. People other than him paid tax, then calling for the aid of police, only to have them go eat a donut before actually helping people. His stomach felt like one big knot, coming to the realisation that he should have never left the girl behind. This wasn’t him, he wouldn’t have left anyone behind to be tormented. What had happened to him? The things he had said were awful, how could he have told them to molest her, he wouldn’t have wanted that to happen to anyone. His eyes began tearing up as he stood leaned against the wall of a building. Drying his eyes he decided that he needed to go back, he had to go back. What if they were doing horrible things to her while he was there hanging and thinking about himself.
At first he walked quickly, but he panicked and began running to the park. What he saw disgusted him. The two teens were now doing what they could to injure the girl. The short guy had just punched her before the tall one gave her what seemed to be a pretty hard kick.
The sky turned dark again, darker than it had ever been earlier that day. To the point where a large dark shadow surrounded them all. Strong winds were appearing from all angles. “STOP!” Alexander yelled out over the now roaring wind. His hair was now blowing in all directions. “If you want put your rage against mutants on her, you shouldn’t just have it out on her.” He narrowed his eyes slightly. Not even an action movie actor could have done a better job bringing on the cliché performance.
The wind grew in strength, he could feel it too, if he had been able to, he’d just let it surround the two teenagers, but he couldn’t control it like that. He feared that the girl would also suffer from it, but it couldn’t be worse than getting beaten to death. The trees were moving in accordance to the wind. The wind was strong enough to tear leaves off it blowing them into something that could almost be seen as a vortex.
The sky turned darker and darker as the wind increased in strength. The harder the wind blew, the more tired he became. The two guys held their arms up to cover their eyes to shield themselves from the wind. He knew he had to stop it soon, but he had some tricks up his sleeves that were building up as he concentrated. Then the wind suddenly stopped. “I will give you a whole ten seconds to get out of here and never come up to either me or her ever again.” Alexander said. The two boys chuckled as if they thought he was joking, as if he thought they would be hurt by a little breeze. Then the sky above them flashed as lighting seemed to jump from cloud to cloud, almost seeming blinding. “If you are not gone from here in ten seconds I’ll make sure you’ll fry.” At first they thought he wasn’t serious, but the shorter one did tug on the taller one’s sleeve. “Nine... eight.. seven..” The two guys then began running for all they could, even faster as they heard sirens coming from the distance.
As the sky cleared up to its previous state, Alexander ran over to the girl. “Are you okay? I’m so sorry I just left there is really no excuse for it.” Looking at the girl he saw that she was hurt, but that she most likely wasn’t in any mortal danger. Two cars drove up to the edge of the park, one police car and the other an ambulance. Out of the car three police officers got out, while two paramedics stepped out of the ambulance. “Over here” Alexander shouted out to them. As they approached the paramedics ran straight over to the girl. Instead Alexander went to talk to the police officer. “There were these two teenage boys, one very short at I don’t know up to my shoulders, while the other was about 5’11, both had short brown hair, they ran that way” he said pointing towards a couple of town houses. “I’m sorry I can’t give you more information, oh I remember the tall one wearing torn jeans and a dark red hooded jacket, and the short one had a military green hooded sweater with the text ‘awesome’ on it written in white.” He continued to talk about what had actually happened, but leaving out some details that he felt didn’t need to come out. As the three police officers began talking he went over to see how the paramedics were doing. “Which hospital are you taking her to?” He asked them, just so that he could come back later to check on her, even though it would be a challenge as he didn’t even know her name. He was shocked as he heard the name of the hospital. Of all the hospitals in the city the one they would bring her to would be the very same his father worked at.
Allison wasn’t quite sure whether she felt more like crying or laughing when a sort of familiar voice yelled at the teens, distracting them and chasing them away from her. Of course nothing was going to work right, she wouldn’t need it to if anything ever did. She curled up tighter than she had been, ignoring the sharp protest from her fingers and ribs, and closed her eyes. Maybe she could just sleep until everyone left, then get back to her apartment and hide for a day or two, until she was ready to be outside again.
That thought was promptly destroyed when the voice returned much closer, and trying to apologize to her for something that she was quite sure wasn’t anyone’s fault if it had even happened. She didn’t really care enough to waste the effort figuring it out, but did open one eye to peer up and find the obnoxious boy standing over her. ...What is your problem? Attack of delusion? Go away. I know you’re already right. His concern--fake or deluded, didn’t really matter--was infinitely more annoying than the accusations he’d made at the ice cream store. That, really, felt like it had been weeks ago. Or, better yet, some other, alternate universe Allison, who wasn’t ready to strangle the boy hovering over her for the chance to shut him up so that the paramedics might overlook and leave her.
She didn’t have the energy to glare, though, so instead she sighed and closed her eye again. She ignored the paramedics--and everyone else--when they got there, letting them move her and do whatever things she didn’t care enough to understand without bothering to help or protest.
Life moves on. She’d be suitable for public again soon, and sometime she’d be realistic again and get another chance. It’d happen someday. She could wait.
