The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Jocelyn walks over to Dr. VanDeKamp and hands him the folder so that he can look through it. "Yes Doctor. It's a privately owned but very respectable company. My boss has worked with specialists from SHIELD before, I believe. There is a branch of Vaden Laboratories here in New York that specializes in diseases and other biohazards. I was told that the information in that folder would be of great use to you here."
Jocelyn gives him a moment to look through the data in the folder. "I've only been working for Vaden for about a month now," she says. "But it's my understanding that those tests have been going on for a few months. There have been about six cases of the disease that have been monitored by Dr. Vaden, i think."
*Del who had thought this unrelated to their work was getting ready to bite into her sandwich when she instantly pauses-* Six cases of what? *She asks already well aware of the answer.*
This changes our time table for work completely. You're going to need a full staff, workin gon things almost around the clock. *Del points out tentativly. She hates to see her value as an assistant drop so quickly but this is for the safety of millions of people.*
Aric looks at Delphi. "Ma'am, no offence to either you or the doctor here, but we already have this entire facility devoted to the problem, plus some... others. The only reason you folks are still working on it is because you brought it to our attention and we want the doctor's mutant skills at our desposal." He nods at the doctor. "His requirements for working for us were that he be allowed to work on the case with his staff."
Jocelyn looks at Dr. VanDeKamp with more interest after learning that he is a mutant. She's surprised at the number of mutants she's already met here in New York. She stands off to the side while the others discuss staff issues.
*Delphi goes back to her work, more than happy to let the 'grown ups' discuss, this one. She can't even calculate how many lives are at risk because they still don't know how it spreads or even who is succeptable to it, shit shit shit.*
Aric views the folder, "We'll need that list and we will see if it is still containable."
