A giraffe that had previously been eye candy for museum visitors was charging towards one that had previously been a slightly less than normal looking high school student.
This was certainly an odd situation, and Lerman would have probably laughed at the circumstances if he didn’t think he was in danger. Fortunately he wasn’t in quite as much danger as he had thought he was. The fact was that the monstrosity heading his way was not even close to being as heavy as he was. There was no good chance it could build up enough momentum to knock over a real giraffe. Most likely there was no skeletal system in the stuffed giraffe so even if they got into a head butting contest there was no doubt that the stuffed giraffe would not be able to do much. It was stiff and weak.
Perhaps a thoughtful watcher would have noticed this, but this was not the kind of situation where many people observing the situation were very thoughtful at all. Especially not Lerman.
As soon as the giraffe was close Lerman swiftly took a step to his right. He brought his head to the right and swung it around with as much as he could muster to hit the display on the shoulder.
*Thump* is the sound an animated giraffe display makes as it hits the floor after being taken down by a high school weregiraffe. Seeing that the display was having trouble getting up, Lerman took a deep breath and calmed down a bit. Then he heard more commotion from behind him.
Lerman’s heart sunk as he turned around and saw the large elephant display walking out of the hall. Awwwwwww! Another one?
