The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ashley grunted in approval as she sped down the road, slightly disappointed by the lack of squad cars that were chasing them. It was kinda ridiculous how many police officers were in New York City!! She had thought earlier that Isabel keep the population of law enforcers down, like one would curb the mating of some out of control pest, but apparently they were doing better then the bonemancer could keep up with.
The ride was silent, for the most part, and Ashley only looked over every now and again to see Isabel picking pullet out of herself and fixing her wounds as best she could. Something about how efficient and...durable was slightly arousing, not to mention how flexible the brunette could be when when it came to the harder to reach bullet wounds. The grin reappeared on Ashley's face as she reached over and poked Isabel's side, trying to invoke the response of someone being tickled.
She wasn't asking because they were well on their way there anyways. She still went down the street faster then normal. Something about the speed the car was dishing out was absolutely exhilarating, though in the back of her mind she still wished it was her Ducati. But if it was her motorcycle, she was pretty sure she'd be dead by now. She didn't know much about vehicles, but she was pretty sure the Ferrari wasn't built to be a tank. The damage it had taken was impressive.
She twirled the car around and came to a perfect stop...by crashing halfway up the stairs of the American Museum of Natural History. Ashley eyed the place with distaste. Yeah, it was big and, given how the only people that ever went to museums were people that were ten times smarter then she was (and tourists) she thought it might be fun to tear the place down, if only to make herself feel better.
“Come on.” Ashley said, getting out of the car. “More fun, yeah? Stupid people. Teach them, huh? All uppity...”
The redhead grumbled on, getting madder with every step. Sure, she wasn't that smart, but so what? The first time she ever came here they turned her away due to her clothes and all SHE wanted to do was use the bathroom!!
By the time she got to the doors she was blazing mad, and wanted nothing more then to blow the place to hell.
“Isseh!!” Her drunken voice carried throughout the place. “Break it down? The doors?”
"Urk!" A bit of a squeak escaped Isabel at the unexpected prod at her side, effectively turning her attention away from the various shallow holes and grazes in her skin and back to Rhythm. She tilted her head to one side at the proposal. She'd figured they'd be making a getaway and heading someplace to hide out. It hadn't occurred to her that the other girl might be bringing them somewhere else to wreak even more havoc.
"Museum. Diam'n's. Right," she confirmed, giving a nod. She'd never broken into the museum before. She'd never even been there on a casual visit. It looked like tonight was the night to finally make her way there. She liked seeing what kinds of artifacts they had in such places, even if she was going to end up destroying some of them with her companion. Plus diamonds were always tempting. Every girl loved diamonds, especially if they came free.
Once they'd come to a bit of a bumpy stop, she followed the newly named Lady Killer up to the doors, taking in the sight of the building's exterior as she went. It was impressive looking so far, she'd give it that much. Inside was bound to be even more impressive, though.
As for breaking down the door, she could do that, or she could pick the locks. Rhythm had wanted to get rid of the cops and breaking the doors down would most likely set off an alarm of some sort. There would be night guards to deal with as it was. Her companion sounded like she really wanted to do some damage to the place and that would require time and a quieter entrance would provide them with some more of it.
Heading over to one of the doors she stuck a length of bone from her finger into the lock and shifted it around until it clocked open. Pushing the door open she stepped inside and made room for Rhythm to storm her way in.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
Ashley stormed into the museum like a bat out of hell, ready to just...just tear up everything.
And then she realized how big the place was. Really, it was a whole lot bigger on the inside then it was on the outside, if that made any sense. She actually walked along the place, unhindered this time, quite in awe about the size. She looked at the huge map of the place, a directory of she remembered the name correctly (which she probably didn't) and looked up and down at all the places that they could go. She stared for a moment more, slack jawed before she turned to her companion.
“Hey, uhhh...Isseh.” Ashley waved on the spot for a moment before catching her balance. “Read? Like...most damage. Where?”
“HEY!!”
The redhead turned her head, seeing two security guards walking towards the two females. Ashley giggled as the two, one short and fat and the other skinny and tall, scampered towards them as if they were the most exciting thing they've seen in years. Which was probably true, as Ashley didn't know if many people wanted to destroy or steal from museums. Still, her giggle turned into an uproar as she watched the two stop a few feet from them, tazers out and pointed at them.
“Lay on the ground with your hands behind your head!!” the short fat one said, eying Ashley calmly. “Don't be stupid about this.”
“Yeah, don't be stupid!!” The tall thin one said, pointing his tazer at Isabel. “Lay down, come on!!”
The redhead sighed, shaking her head. They weren't cops, that much was certain, and she really hated for what was no doubt going to happen to happen. But she was fairly certain that Isabel didn't discriminate when it came to law enforcement individuals, and so when the guitarist turned to Isabel, it was with a rather grim look on her face.
Isabel let Rhythm stomp by her, taking a minute to look around at whatever was displayed near the entrance of the building. There was a lot of stuff that could be destroyed from the look of things, which she assumed would please her redheaded companion. She personally didn't care too much about what was in the museum to destroy, the potential for night guards being much more appealing in her mind. Artifacts could be fun, but they didn't squirm.
When Rhythm called her she turned her attention back to the girl and the directory, making her way over to scan the posted exhibits. They could probably wreck just about anything and it would be just as devastating to lose as anything else. Any destroyed artifact tended to be a tragedy to those that appreciated such things. "Uhm," she said, waving a finger over the directory as if it would help her decide, "Din'saur exhibit?" she offered. "Lossa bones. Real del'cate 'n' shtuff. Lossa time spent puttin' 'em t'gether."
And then the authorities showed up. Again. Though to their credit they found the vandals quicker than she'd anticipated. And they had tasers and expected cooperation. How cute. But Rhythm didn't want her making a mess. Now how on earth was she supposed to kill someone without making a mess? It just didn't happen. And since when was she so concerned about cleanliness? Hadn't they crashed the Museum with the intent to make a mess? Hmph. Fine. She could try.
And so she pointed at the one that was pointing at her and let loose another little bullet of bone. She did it with a minimal amount of splatter. The bone went in with enough force to pierce his skull, but not enough force to create an exit wound. Rapidly she repeated the process with the other night guard who was struck dumb staring at the body on the floor.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
Ashley nodded in approval, barley taking a glance at the newly formed corpses before walking a few steps, then stopping. She looked back to Isabel, then the directory and then back to Isabel.
“Know way?” she asked, clearing her throat. “Can't read. Also, diamonds. Steal them, yeah? Worth...a lot, right?”
She turned around and waited for Isabel to begin walking, following closely behind the bonemancer. Ashley soon got bored looking around the place, mostly just hallways leading to various exhibits that looked rather boring and inexpensive. Kids stuff, really, like things about penguins and cavemen vs astronauts...well, that was how Ashley chose to interpret it. Muchmore interesting then what they probably had up.
So it was with much boredom that Ashley reached and caught Isabel's hand and began to swing it back and fourth with a rather silly expression on her face. So, sure, Isabel had killed tons of people tonight. Did that mean she didn't know how to have fun? They were in a museum that they were about to wreck to soothe Ashley's bruised ego from an incident a long time ago and probably steal a bunch of diamonds that were worth, like, maybe a couple thousand dollars. This was gonna be fun, damn it!!
But just in case Isabel didn't catch on, Ashley began to skip along the way, letting go of her hand only to spin around a few times before she came back to the busty bonemancer to pick her up by the waist and lift her high, spin her and set her down again. And then it was back to the hand holding and skipping. She hummed a off beat tune, giggling stupidly as she saw the look on Isabel's face and raised up the girl's hand to kiss her knuckles a bit.
“Come on Isseh!! Use...like...tentacle bone!! Or spider legs!!” Ashley waved around the room they were in; a mummy exhibit. “Woosh!! You know, wreck stuff!!”
A sudden, unbidden pain shot through Ashley's mind for a moment and it was all she could do to keep from tumbling over. She gritted her teeth and closed her eyes tight shut. But as soon as it was there it was gone, and Ashley smiled as she stood up again. Okay...that was random. But it was gone now, and Ashley had things to do. She had a destruction machine in Isabel, and her companion was going to be her ticket to toss this stupid place and burn it to the ground!!
...still, she couldn't get that brief image out of her head...the one of someone that looked exactly like her behind a glass wall, pounding on it, screaming and trying to get out.
"Looks like thissway," she replied, heading down the hallway the directory seemed to be indicating. They'd be passing through other exhibits on their way to the prehistoric setup, so they could create a path of destruction as they went. As for diamonds, "D'pends on size, color, rarity. Mebbe thousands, mebbe millions. Mebbe more if held f'r ransom" she replied again. They'd have to see what the museum had to offer in that respect and grab whatever caught their eye.
She didn't pay much mind when Rhythm caught up her hand and started to swing it. Whatever. She was in a good enough mood from the booze and the previous slaughter the she did't care very much about the contact. She'd have to let go to break stuff eventually anyway. She gave a bit of a grin at the silly face her companion was making.
She had to hop a few steps forward when the redhead started to skip in order to keep up with her before the other girl put some space between her and the bonemancer. And then she came back. "Ack!" a bit of a squeak escaped her when she was lifted, not having expected the action and a bit nervous about potentially being dropped. However she was returned safely to the ground and pulled into a faster pace again as the skipping started back up. She was having a bit of trouble coordinating enough to keep up and had to settle for an awkward sort of mix between skipping and jogging to keep pace.
When they finally stopped, she looked around as Rhythm goaded her to begin destroying things. She'd always liked Egyptian stuff, but at the moment she didn't particularly fele any sense of loss for anything that could and would be destroyed.
The girl wanted tentacles or something, then Isabel could oblige. Reaching back behind her she gripped at a knob of bone protruding from between her shoulder blades and tugged. It took a moment, but soon enough she had in her hand an elongated spinal cord. Stretching to settle in the new one that had replaced it, she then made her way over to the nearest case.
Keeping the length of bone stiff at first, she used it as a club to break through the protective glass. Once the barrier was gone she let the staff regain some mobility and used it to wrap around various artifacts before slamming them against the ground and stepping all over them. She was showing off a bit, yeah, but she was also having fun.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
The destruction of the Egyptian exhibit continued for what seemed like forever, but by the end Ashley was breathing hard and feeling a whole lot better. It was actually quite the workout to destroy those things, as the Egyptians seemed to have built this stuff to last. Of course, she wasn't winded. She seemed to be ready to tear up more crap and Ashley felt obliged to rise up and answer this call of competition. She had stamina and she was gonna prove it!!
“C'mon.” Ashley said, still laying on the ground among shattered and broken pieces of ancient and most likely irreplaceable Egyptian art. “More to break. Help me up.”
Her answer was a bone something or other hovering above her face, and Ashley rolled her eyes as she grabbed it and was hauled to her feet. She felt wobbly and a little insulted; she had to use her hands to make all this stuff garbage. All she ha to do was whip her bones around a bit and could cause twice the damage the redhead could in a matter of moments. Ashley twitched an eyebrow but didn't complain. She worked harder for it, so in her mind it was worth twice the damage Isabel did!!
The musician regained her feet and stood up straight, tilting her head from side to side to crack her neck. She stretched out for a few minutes, eying the bonemancer with a hint of jealousy and pride. It was an odd combination for Ashley, one she didn't feel often (if at all) and it greatly confused her. Jealousy she could understand. Isabel's power was formidable and deadly. Ashley's own was...okay. It helped her when she needed it. She didn't like that she needed music, but she loved music anyways, so it all worked out.
Pride...well. One could hardly look at Isabel and know that this person was yours and not feel pride. She was one of a kind, her Isabel, and there was hardly a moment that had gone by that night that Ashley didn't feel a giddy sense of excitement knowing that later on that night they would be wed and bumpin' pretties to seal the deal. The thought alone seemed to rejuvenate Ashley, and she smiled as she walked up to Isabel, grabbing the brunette's hand again.
“Lez go, Izzy-Bell.” Ashley said, dragging Isabel along. “Dinosaurs. Like you said.”
Isabel was busy stepping on things again and picking through the wreckage after picking Rhythm up off the floor when the other girl signaled that it was time to go again. Apparently she was satisfied with the amount of damage that had been done to this particular exhibit and was ready to get to the Dinosaurs on display as had been suggested earlier. Pocketing a little decorative jewel scarab that she turned up, she followed after her companion to see if they could find the Prehistoric exhibit.
As they made their way to their destination, she casually wrecked whatever was in arm's reach. She overturned any objects set up on pedestals, smashed glass cases, slashed through portraits and scratched up bronze busts.
Passing through different rooms and navigating corridors and stairs could get confusing at times, but it was helpful that the museum had directories posted up every here and there. It didn't take too long to find the room she was looking for, which was fortunate. Smashing non-living objects could only hold her attention for so long. She much preferred smashing people.
It was a shame the dinosaur fossils weren't actually bones anymore. Isabel would have liked to see what she could have done with such things. However, that didn't mean she still couldn't do her fair share of damage anyhow. Fossils were fragile and most of the big ones were held to he ceiling with wires for support. If the support was removed, the structure was much more likely to collapse.
Shaking her hand out of Rhythm's grip, she set about climbing to the top of a T-Rex skeleton with the help of her four spindly legs. She loved Rexes and Raptors. Most carnivores struck her fancy.
Using the same wires that supported the fossil, she supported herself as she reached down and snapped a few of the larger teeth out of the dino's jaw before shoving them in her pocket. Then she set about stomping all over the thing, the bony appendages helping her keep her balance as the whole structure jiggled and shook under her shifting weight.
Bits and pieces stared falling to the ground, some shattering, some holding up to the impact, being a little more durable. When she got bored of stomping she set to work sawing at the supporting wires. A saw-like spine grew out of her palm, spikes spiraling from base to tip. Rapidly the thing began to rotate in her hand and was placed against the nearest wire, intent on wearing away at the braided metal.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
The redhead blinked a bit at her Isabel's acrobatics, wondering how she herself could do such a thing. Well, without the use of equipment, she probably couldn't. Isabel was cheating, after all, with her spindly legs, so it was okay to not feel bad about it. Truth was, there wasn't much damage she could cause to the bigger dinosaurs because of how well they were held up. Still, she didn't want to disrupt Isabel's fun by taking out the base of the dino she was working on, so Ashley entertained herself by taking a nearby pole (the ones that attached to other poles to direct people around certain exhibits) and began swinging the thing around with reckless abandon at the other, smaller dinosaur exhibits.
“Freeze!! NYPD!! Drop your weapons and get on the ground, now!!”
Ashley stopped what she was doing and looked back to the people that were rushing into the room. It was then that she noticed a lot of other noises that she didn't hear before, sounds of voices and feet clamoring to get into certain positions. The musician grinned, shouldering the large metal pole and stuck a hand in her pocket as if striking a pose before holding out a hand and wagging a finger.
“Nu uh.” she scolded, shaking her head slowly. “Izzy...she dun like you. Police, I mean. Bettah duck.”
She pointed up, and the dozen or so cops that all had their guns pointed at Ashley looked up simultaneously, only to see Isabel still stomping around on the dinosaur.
Fossils were a bit sturdier than Isabel had anticipated. The display she was using as a perch hadn't broken apart just yet. She'd imagined something more like in Jurassic Park where the thing split in several places when jumped on. Oh well. She was at east cracking it in places and gradually shaking it apart in others. The poles and screws were most likely to blame for the lack of total demolition. It would just take a little more persistence on her part.
Of course while she was working on that persistence part the police had to show up. Again. They were always showing up to ruin her fun. She hadn't even heard any kind of alarm go off to alert the authorities.
Rhythm seemed about ready to have a little fun with the boys in blue, so Isabel kept up her heavy-footed pacing along the skeleton, careful of her footing as a few ribs cracked and separated. It was a shame the thing wasn't made of actual bone any longer. It would have been fun to see what she could do with such an old skeleton.
She grinned a bit as one of the separating ribs parted from the structure and fell, catching a pair of officers as a few other scattered to avoid the falling object. Big, old bones were heavy and not very pleasant to be stuck under, she was sure.
With a huff she settled into a seated position just below the dead beast's neck, nearly in between its shoulder blades. Wrapping her fingers around the edges of the shoulder blades she brought her legs up and shoved her feet into the bones of its neck, hoping to be able to dislodge the skull and drop it on whoever was under the structure. The metal rods would make it tricky, but she would try to at least knock some pieces loose, if not the whole thing.
And seeing as the cops were all carrying guns and looked as if they were itching to use the things, she was going to take another precaution. Pausing in her assault only long enough to roll up one of her sleeves, she resumed her kicking while a simple shield formed itself. Raising though the side of her arm a long strip of bone quickly broadened out to shield the bulk of her body. Whatever bullets were fired would most likely chip it in places, as it had been constructed rather hastily, but in the least it would protect her from any major damage.
She'd let Rhythm have a little fun with the boys while she went about her own business. She was starting to get somewhat tired after all their running around and was quickly losing interest in playing with responding officers. Once they made their way back out onto the street she'd make her request to go back home and sleep off the alcohol she'd ingested.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
The momentary distraction of Isabel's was all Ashley needed to spring into action, leaping at the disorganized officers with as much speed as she could muster...which was quite fast, but slower then if she wasn't drunk with whatever and without her music. A flurry of movement later (with rather impressive kicks and knees, if Ashley had any say in it) and there were no more law enforcement people on the room left for Ashley to play with. Which was sad, because it had been awhile since she'd actually got to use her skills for any kind of...anything, and it was fun for the several minutes she was knocking the cops around.
She did quickly got out of the way of the job Izzy was doing and, after a few moments of standing, went to sit on a nearby Velociraptor fossil skeleton. The thing was surprisingly sturdy for, you know, being a fossil and all, and made a slightly uncomfortable chair, but one that was good for viewing the ensuing carnage.
After all, Ashley didn't knock any of the cops out. Most were groaning and even now in the process of getting up. And since they couldn't see the person that has ran their asses over like a puppy versus a steamroller, they instead focused their ire on the one person they could; Isabel, who was still raining dinosaur-y death upon their heads in the form of fossil bone chunks. Ashley, amused at the sight, giggled when she knew no one was looking.
Ashley Aran did giggle. Not on purpose.
It was a great thought to see her future wife enjoying herself, even with her shield up as the cops began to shoot at her. The redhead wasn't worried, as her girl had proven resilient in the past to the projectiles, and now only wished she had popcorn so she could see how the brunette was going to deal with the pests she hated so much.
Isabel had quickly given up on removing the Rex's skull from its base, more out of boredom than anything else. She probably could have figured out some way to dismount the thing if her heart had been in it, but she was getting tired and was quickly losing interest in their crime spree. The thought of bed was more and more appealing as time passed.
She wasn't so sure where Rhythm had gotten off to, though she did realize the cops hadn't opened fire immediately because they'd ended up on the ground first. They didn't waste much time in doing so after they'd picked themselves up, though. She didn't particularly care. If anything she was mildly irritated. She wanted to get going and the law enforcement was getting in her way.
They couldn't really do her any damage so long as she kept herself covered by that small wall of bone, and they'd soon run out of ammunition. However, she didn't really feel like giving them that much time. And so she fired back. From that shield of hers, she fired off several rounds of small, round projectiles that would find purchase in the cops' flesh, even if it was just their arms or legs, thus preventing them from continuing to fire or to follow after them. They must have learned to wear bullet-proof vests by now. Some of the unlucky ones would probably leave with neck or head injuries. If they left at all.
"Boooored," she whined from behind the chunk of bone that was shielding her, assuming that Rhythm was within ear shot and that most, if not all, of the cops had by now been incapacitated. "'M ready t'go hoooome."
