The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>> "Oh, I guess back to Sanctuary. D-do you know of the place? D-do you have a place to stay?"
Seyta nodded, its wasn't far from there to her apartment, and she knew two people now who lived at the Sanctuary. "Yeah, I know where it is. I kinda live near there actually." Either way, Seyta could easily stay the night no matter where she landed so there wasnt going to be any issues. Although if she stayed at the Sanctuary she would need to get someone to find her a room, unless Amber here, or Aura would be willing to let her stay with them. If it came to that hopefully neither one would mind a 28 year old Woman sharing a room for the night.
>> "Your power can't be all bad though. Surely there must be something you can like about it?"
Something to like about it... Never paying for drinks, if she ever got one, Always sat in the VIP booth, and nobody ever cared. There where things to like about it but there was always a down side to those. Aura had given her an idea though, one she might pursue if she knew how. "Not really, I take advantage of it for a free something every now and then...well, more that that but I've only had one good idea of using it but I have no idea how to do it." She still had to talk to Mama at the Mansion but getting back in touch with Aura about being a spy would be a good idea once they got to the Sanctuary. "A girl from the Sanctuary gave me the idea actually, maybe I'll see her again there."
"Yeah, I know where it is. I kinda live near there actually."
Amber nodded, content with the fact that the other mutant had a place of her own to stay. It was always easier for mutants that could pass for human when they wanted to. Humans didn't question much when some pretty woman came asking for a room or looking for a job. Usually they didn't jump to the conclusion that someone was a mutant unless something triggered their suspicions, such as the obvious use of a power. Or the existence of unnatural pitch black eyes. Humans, on the whole, wanted life to be simple, easy and uncomplicated and mutants were, frankly, a complication most of them didn't seem to want anything to do with.
"Not really, I take advantage of it for a free something every now and then...well, more that that but I've only had one good idea of using it but I have no idea how to do it.A girl from the Sanctuary gave me the idea actually, maybe I'll see her again there."
"Who would that be?" Amber asked, genuinely curious. "M-maybe I know them." She didn't know everyone in Sanctuary but she did know, at least by casual acquaintance, many of them. Some mutants had lived very hard lives, harder than hers had been and as a consequence weren't very trusting even of their fellow mutants and weren't exactly the communicative type.
Amber continued walking in the direction of Sanctuary. Either Seyta would continue to follow her or she would get bored and go back to whatever she was planning on doing before. "If you have things t-to do, you don't need to keep following me. I'm afraid I'm not the m-most exciting person." Well, except for the fact that she could turn into dinosaurs, but the other woman had all ready seen that particular trick.
"Her name's Aura. has a weird pink glowy thing around her... and a pet skunk." Seyta had a feeling Aura was someone people where likely to know at the Sanctuary, even if not by name. Rather the opposite of Seyta herself who could live somewhere for years and still have neighbors wonder why the apartment next to them was empty.
>> "If you have things t-to do, you don't need to keep following me. I'm afraid I'm not the m-most exciting person."
Seyta shrugged. She had been going to spend another fruitless night at a club. That was far more boring that talking to Amber. "Nothing important...heck it wasn't even going to be fun. How Amber though she wasn't exciting was beyond Seyta. Turning into a dinosaur was rather impressive, even by mutant standards. Then again, Seyta's lack of impressiveness is what made Aura and Amber think that she was impressive.
"Her name's Aura. has a weird pink glowy thing around her... and a pet skunk."
Amber couldn't help but smile at the description of Aura and her rather unique choice of pets. "Aura's m-my sister." It seemed somewhat ironic that a mutant woman who was basically mentally invisible should have met, of all the possible mutants in the city, Aura of all people.
]"Nothing important...heck it wasn't even going to be fun.
Amber shrugged and kept walking. She had no idea what might be fun for such a person anyway. For her, fun was running around the alleys of the city in the middle of the night trying to remain out of sight while hunting dogs and coyotes, but somehow she didn't think that would be considered fun for most people. A more traditional sort of fun was also playing her violin, but she rarely played that in front of anyone.
"I'm j-just going home to Sanctuary. Its a good place to stay. They help mutants." Although Seyta didn't look like she really needed help, but it was her new role to help mutants so she had to at least mention Sanctuary, otherwise she would feel bad about shirking her new self-imposed duties.
