The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Rupert reclaimed his her arm with a tug. She didn’t need to be escorted, thanks. The kid could can his chivalry.
It was cold outside. Big surprise: it was January first, and she hadn’t exactly grabbed a coat on her way through the looking glass. She was still wearing just jeans and a t-shirt. They all felt baggier than they should have. She hiked up her jeans. After a moment, she crossed her arms over her chest, too.
...It was cold out here.
“Midnight.” She repeated. “To... day.” She mirrored the long syllable, inserting a sneer that was all her own. “Well, that’s lovely. Maybe that’s fine by you, but I am a guy.” Pointing at him herself: didn’t actually prove the point, just then. Especially considering the area she was pointing at.
“Can’t you just find an adapted? Or turn it off? Or—”
And now she was hyperventilating. Which was all well and appropriate, but hyperventilating led to some distracting motion. She crossed her arms, more firmly.
>>“Midnight. To... day. Well, that’s lovely. Maybe that’s fine by you, but I am a guy. Can’t you just find an adapted? Or turn it off? Or—”
Okay, so Rupert had boobs. Disturbing in so many levels. Not to mention distracting.
"Nah, ya're a gender shifter, born a guy" he corrected, folding his own arms over his chest "Like I'm a gender shifetr born a girl. What, ya expected to get all the cool powers from that sh*t you took and none of the downsides?"
He liked the gender shifting. He owned it. It does not mean it did not suck, if you wer not born with it. Especially at the first time. The young knight sighed.
"Yeah, an adapted might help, or not - in my case, they don't. But if you really wanna show up like this for a visit to your adapted whatshername, Auntie Hookup, that could be fun too. Ya should put on a bra first though" he smirked, staring, just to make him... her uncomfortable. Yes, that would efinitely be a scene to watch. From a safe distance.

>> “What, ya expected to get all the cool powers from that sh*t you took and none of the downsides?”
So little Gawain had figured it out. Rupert opened her mouth... and closed it, without saying a word. Wasn’t much sense in denying it, now was there? It certainly didn’t help anything, at this point. So she shut her mouth, and paid attention.
Paid attention to what little Gawain was paying attention to.
This time, Rupert made no effort to stop her hand. The slap rang out.
“Eyes up here, Maya.” She was red from anger. Anger, damn it. Anger at half-lesbian brats with roving eyes, anger at damn drugs and their side effects, anger at loose T-shirts and cold weather.
She did not deny the drugs. Gawain almost rolled his eyes. So he did take something. But what on earth is capable of givins someone mutant powers? That was just... not right.
>>“Eyes up here, Maya.”
She slapped him. All right, so I kinda deserved that.
"Ow! Damn!" he held his face. Well, at least it wasn't a punch. Rupert was getting the hang of being a girl pretty fast.
"C'mon, Rup, it ain't so bad" he growled, rubbing his face "Let's go home okay? I think we both need to change..."

>> “It ain’t so bad.”
Rupert stared at the kid. Deadpan. Behind her, the door opened; a group of celebrators stumbled out, either on their way home or to the next bar. Their women were a lot better dressed than Rupert. So were their men.
>> “We both need to change.”
Rupert took a step backwards, towards the dark windows of the shop next door. At this time of night, they were all mirrors. Less than an hour ago, that had seemed like such a damn novelty.
“I think I can find my own way from here. Thanks.”
It was either leave, or kill the kid here and now. Rupert liked to save his hunts for less crowded locations.
