The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Daria appeared at the danger room door, fuming over the Emerald and Daria situation.
"Target practice." She commanded and the danger room's walls slid aside as several beeping disks soared from the openings.
Daria teleported forth and appearing in front of two dropkicking them to the floor. Their lights went out as they shattered. She did a hand stand as three came up behind her and she whacked them with her tail, that hurt but she shook it off digging her claws into a few more.
She kept fighting and they kept coming until finally when the first level was over she collapsed to her knees, digging her claws into the floor.
Mike stood in the observation window, watching Daria with silent admiration. Now that Emmy wasn't around, he didn't have to pretend that he wasn't fuming about the situation.
I'm going to beat the hell out of that worthless little shit...
Oddly, there was a smug satisfaction about him, too, though why that could be wasn't apparent.

Daria was aware that he was there but didn't respond to him, or acknowledge his presence. She waited for the second level of the course to start. The same disk like machines came whizzing out but they now shot small metal pellets.
Daria was on her feet once more, the anger still surging inside of her. She wasn't even completely aware that she'd been hit by at least two of the pellets but she just kept clawing and kicking anything that came near her.
Mike frowned, watching her fight. The safeties were still on, so she couldn't get badly hurt, but still, it worried him that she seemed to be losing control in her anger.
Frowning, he kept watching, hoping things didn't go too far.

Daria didn't get hit enough times for anything to go wrong. It just looked like she wanted to hit things.
Disturbingly, her telepathic resistance was full blown.
Not that she was actually thinking anything. Her mind and her eyes all saw red, all saw blood. Her tactics were almost trance like-her normal free style attitude towards fighting was gone now as she moved in a pattern, hypnotized series of deadly attacks...as if she was practicing for an assasination.
Mike briefly reflected that he was very, very glad he was up here and not down there. As he watched, he idly wondered how long it would take Emmy to decide to go visit his brother... and whether or not the plan he'd put into action would work.

Finally the level ended and while the third one was loading it was obvious, Daria was favoring her right claw; without the normal precision and patience of her tae kwon do she was bound to get hurt. She licked her wound absent mindedly and soon after ignored it.
Later, she'd probably regret the recklessness of the moment but anything was better than hitting Emmy, which she would've done to keep the girl from seeing Johnny again.
Sarah eventually joined Mike on the observation deck. "What's Daria doing?" she asked.
"She's training," Mike said, tentatively.
Sarah watched with him for a few minutes. "She looks angry," she said, a bit more worried.
"She is," Mike agreed. He was worried as well, but not about to show it, for fear of scaring Sarah even more. "Of all the things for her to hear, hearing that Johnny showed up again is probably worst."
Sarah frowned. "I wish I knew what he was doing, but I can't even see anything that involves Johnny. I've tried."
Mike frowned at this, too. That was certainly an odd condition. But he didn't say anything, he just watched Daria down in the Danger Room.

Daria took another breath as a the danger room's floor rose to a maze setting. Daria braced herself to dodge the rising tiles. She wasn't sure how this one was played but her ears were alert as heat seeking missiles flew from the wall behind her.
She took off in a mad dash to the end of the path but stopped short and teleported behind the missiles, dashing forth and clawing them in half, despite her pain. She then continued to the edge of the tunnel and turned.
Sarah laughed. "It's like the oppsite. You know, the cat in the maze instead of the rat?...How long should we let her stay before we try to get her to calm down?"
Mike managed a small smile. "Let's put it this way... do YOU want to say the wrong thing and piss her off more right now?" he asked, quirking an eyebrow at his little sister.

Daria had dodged the missless and now claws burst from the walls to grab her. She dodged and weaved in and out of them until they tied themselves in a knot. She rolled forward and down the next isle, keeping to the right. She had the urge to just hop up on top of the walls and look around.
something whacked her in the face before she realized what it was. Several punching bags swung like pendulems from the ceiling. Quite unlike her normal style she drew her claws and ripped them all to shreds before continuing on.
"I don't like her like this." Sarah shuddered. "She's a whole lot cuter when you guys are being all cuddly and smoochy. As gross as that is.'

Daria did reach the end of the maze soon, after taking one wrong turn. The walls started to close in on her so she teleported back to where she had been and turned the other way. When the maze was done the course stopped. Daria licked her hand again. Her ears and tail twitched in Mike and Sarah's direction, once again it was obvious she knew they were there but she simply walked out.
"And THIS is when we step in," Mike said simply. They headed out. It was Sarah who hurried ahead to Daria, seeing that she was, obviously, hurt, though she wasn't really doing anything to broadcast the fact or indicate that it was bothering her. As Mike caught up, Sarah was eyeing Daria nervously. "Daria? Are... are you all right?" she asked, her big blue eyes slightly frightened as she asked.
