The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He shrugged at little at Kate's complaints of boredom.
"I'm sure things will pick up. It certainly did for me."
One minute he was just another college student who was a little aloof. The next he was robbing a cafe, meeting a girl that could turn into dinosaurs, and chatting about mutations in a supermarket.
"The show is November 1st."
Andrew considered her idea of making an evening of it. It did sound like a good idea.
"Why not make an evening of it?"
He was beginning to like this idea. If only for the novelty of it.
>>The show is November 1st. Why not make an evening of it?
"Then shall we do diner before the show?" Kate watched as Andrew cleaned dishes. She was suddenly reminded of home and watching Mrs. Davies clean as a child. She had always loved the sounds of her doing dishes while she was doing her homework. The silent reassurance that someone else was there. Kate had never really been a fan of being alone. It was nice to feel that again. It almost felt like home. She would have to try and come down here when he was cooking more often.

Andrew gave a nod as he washed and dried.
"That sounds good."
It would be easier to enjoy the evening on a full stomach. What did you wear to the symphony? Somehow Andrew didn't think that jeans and a t-shirt would quite cut it. He did have a suit or two hanging around in his closet. That would probably work. With that decided Andrew paid that question no more thought. The washing and drying was done and Andrew set about putting everything away like he always did after baking. A messy kitchen just annoyed him.
With the dishes done and put away Andrew went and leaned against the counter beside Kate again.
Kate just sat there smiling at Andrew for a moment before saying anything, "Thank you for this. It was nice to not eat alone. When you have to get up in the early morning to eat there aren't many other people to interact with," Kate smiled at him studying his face as it watched her talk, "and with that I am off to bed. It is almost 3 and we both need to sleep at least a little. I will find you down here again I hope and we can talk about more specific details about the symphony."
Kate hoped off the counter and gave Andrew a kiss on the cheek before bounding out of the room, blushing and unsure why she had done that.

He smiled at her. It was nice to have some company sometimes. Andrew preferred to be alone when baking but she and Shin had proved that company wasn't always bad.
"No problem. I was down here anyway."
Kate decided to head off to bed and told him they'd meet up down here again sometime to discuss details for the symphony. That sounded good. What she did next though left him standing there in the kitchen gaping at the doorway that she raced out of. Kate Finch Hatton, heir to some fancy title that he couldn't remember at that moment, had kissed him on the cheek. For several minutes it was all he could do to stare blankly at the doorway. Once he finally got moving and headed off for bed his mind was entirely blank the whole way.
