The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Hayden followed the young male up the stairs and presumably towards the infirmary in silence, taking in the scenes around him. Mutants milled about, getting on with their lives, and a part of Hayden envied them for that. ...then again, something told him everybody had their fair share of inner Demons, no matter what kind of facade they put on show.
"So, what brings you to the Mansion?"
"Your medical facilities"
They got to the top of the stairs and they proceeded down a corridor.
"Really? What've you heard about it?"
Jonathan was intrigued, not many Mutants came to the school solely for Medical help. Some, if not most, came for a place to stay, a safe Haven, if you like.
"I don't know. It just...felt like the place to be"
The teenager stopped and turned, biting into his Apple and giving Hayden a quizzical look.
"If you don't mind me asking, what exactly is wrong with you? I mean...you seem alright to me and..."
"It's a good job you're not the Doctor then, isn't it?"
Hayden didn't mean to be rude, but he didn't need a kid prying right now. What he did need was to see the medical professional, or professionals, and the sooner the better. His medication was no longer as effective as it once was, and besides, temporary peace was taking it's toll, Hayden wanted a permanent solution.
The snappy tone that Hayden used to respond with seemed to work with the teenager, he asked no more questions and as he led him to the infirmary there was an uncomfortable silence between them, though Hayden cared little. Finally, they arrived at their destination, and Hayden walked into the infirmary, nodding a 'thank you'.
Walking into the Infirmary gave Hayden a distinct impression of...unfamiliarity. He didn't know what he expected, whether it was to be a wave of realisation followed by memories of a time here, or at least a flashback to another medical room, the memory triggered by the typical smell of antiseptic and other cleaning and healing chemicals.
None of this happened.
Towards the end of the room he saw a man, elderly, taking an interest in some boxes and bottles of, what was presumably, medication. He seemingly didn't hear Hayden come in.
"Excuse me...do you work here?"
Turning around Hayden was met with the face of a pointed nose gentleman with a kind face.
"I'm looking for the Doctor here, are you him?"
"Yes. Yes, i am. What can i do for you?"
Stepping forward Hayden placed his bag on a nearby counter and unzipped it, taking out a small bottle of tablets, the same tablets he used to quell the voices and subdue his Alters. He walked over to the Doctor and handed him the bottle.
"My name is Hayden. Hayden Church. I have a condition called Split-Personality Disorder, i trust you know of it?"
Whilst reading the label on the bottle, the Doctor nodded slowly, his eyes not leaving the description of ingrediants.
"Well, my condition is getting worse. Those tablets are the only thing that manages to stop my Alter's from...taking control. They subdue their voices and allow me to lead a relatively normal life. They are, however, losing their effect"
Now the Doctor looked up, a puzzled expression on his face.
"I've-I've never heard of..."
He read the name of the tablets out.
"...Phirotol, before. What are they? Where did you get them from?"
"You haven't heard of them because they're not out on the market yet, they're still in the testing phase"
"...and how'd you get access to them?"
"A friend"
The Doctor remained puzzled. It was obvious he didn't quite know what was expected of him.
"I'm sorry, Hayden, but i'm not sure why you want to talk to me. If they're losing their effect, surely you'll have to talk to your...friend"
"I have done. And he's told me he'll try and get a stronger batch, but he also suggested a try and take my medication an alternative way. By injection"
The Doctor shook the bottle.
"But...you can't inject tablets"
"And that's why i need you. I want you to be able to modify my medication, so that instead of taking it orally, i'll have to inject. I know it's possible, it's just finding a capable person, and my search has led me here"
The Doctor handed the tablets back, an expression of hesitancy on his face at this new visitor in front of him.
"Modification of tablets, no matter what they are, can be a dangerous proceedure. I wouldn't feel confident modifying Paracetamol for you, let alone medication that isn't even passed the testing phase yet. Besides, Hayden, i have some abilities that work much better than even the most advance medical proceedures"
Hayden knew what was coming next, as soon as he made eye-contact with the Doctor he could tell he was a mutant, but with what power he wasn't quite sure. Surely a Doctor who also had the power to heal was clichéd, but it seemed not.
"If you're going to suggest what i think you are, don't bother, Doctor. I've been to many Healers and none of them can cure SPD"
"Good. SPD isn't something that should be cured straight away, Hayden. It's dangerous. Your Alters are obviously there as a safety mechanism, helping you cope with some stress or trauma of your past. You can't just get rid of them, to do so may cause a breakdown beyond of which you have the capability of handling"
"I'm well aware of that Doctor, but you're not quite understanding the severity of the situation. My Alters don't just want temporary control..."
The Doctor held up his hand and Hayden stopped talking. He then gestured for Hayden to take a seat.
"Believe me, the more you fight them the more aggressive they will become. The only solution to SPD is to reason with your Alters, make them see sense. You can live a very normal life with SPD, all you have to do is co-operate with your Alters. Now, let me see if i can see what happened in your past to make your consciousness split"
Hayden stayed seated as the Doctor moved his hands over his head, stopping when his right was in front of his forehead and his left was just above his crown. A soft glow emitted from his palms and Hayden felt a warmness come over him. For a few seconds both were silent, then the Doctor spoke, bringing his hands from him.
"Well...that's a bit...odd"
"You don't see anything do you? Just...black"
"You know?"
"You're not the first to try and see my past to heal me, Doctor. And if you don't help me, you won't be the last. I've been to other Healers and all of them have tried the same thing, all with the same result - failure. The only way i can see of truly curing me is to do what my friend suggested. ...so, will you help?"
"Like i said, you can't just...'cure' SPD, Hayden. It's not as simple as that, i don't know what the results are going to be"
"I know, but it's worth a try, believe me...if you don't help, things will only get worse"
The Doctor didn't respond straight away, instead he thought. Was it even ethical what he was being asked to do? I mean, typical Alters didn't even know they were Alters until properly confronted with the fact, Counselled and the like, could he possibly contemplate killing off a living Personality, no matter how fabricated it was?
"Listen, i'll think about it...are you staying in the Mansion?"
Hayden nodded.
"I haven't got a room sorted as of yet, but yes, i plan to"
"Then, if you have a few tablets to spare, leave them with me and go and get some sleep. I'll think about it, get in touch with a few friends and let you know, okay?"
It was the best Hayden could've hoped for. Getting up he thanked the Doctor for his time, leaving him a couple of pills to examine, and left the infirmary, heading down the corridor to search for Tricity once more and try and arrange a room.
