The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“No! YOU stop it!” Anguabeth barked back at the stupid human messing with her food-friend. Not that the human could understand her, of course. But it was worth a try. Even as she fought to regain the ground she lost with the shove form the shoe, Lizziehound heard other chatter from various places in the wonderful Smells-Like-Bread Room. Something about a door being open. And a monster. A monster! This girl was a monster!
Anguabeth suddenly stopped their attack. They were fighting a monster? No way! And the monster was attacking Bread-Toy! She had to do something! Even in the midst of the potent smell being given off by Dough-Boy, Angua’s powerful nostrils could detect the semi-sweet scent of fresh air from the Place-Outside-The-Mansion-With-The-Trees-And-Toilets. The fragrance inspired an idea in the bread-drugged minds of the girls. They would take Breaddy outside, where the stupid humans couldn’t get him/her/it!
With an excited “Yip!” she jumped in front of her friend and began nipping at its heels and all of its yeasty appendages, the way dogs do when they want something. Her tail began wagging as her plan, however unbeknownst to her that it was the humans who were moving it, began to work. Soon she had the living food metaphorically wrapped around her tail so tightly that it quickly lumbered through the doors in the kitchen (the ones that seemed a bit larger than before and strangely shaped) way ahead of her and jumped for joy to be outside. In fact, Breaddy was so excited to be in the Big-Outside-Place that he had jumped into it!
Tongue flapping and tail wagging, Anguabeth zipped through the linoleum and flew down the steps, eager to play with her friend.
But she froze only steps away. That ridiculously stupid human who had attempted to take her friend from her just moments before and had made mouth sounds at her was attacking her friend! GrrRRRrrr! But before she could charge, English filtered through her head. Something about a blonde being trapped under the thing. Well, that just wouldn’t do. Elizabeth’s mind suddenly reared up a bit at that moment, upon hearing the danger. Suddenly a bit more aware of herself and able to regain some mental control, the possessor directed the dog to help.
After all, what was better to dig/eat through a bunch of bread then a dog?
She swiftly placed the canine’s body between the two boys who were attacking digging (dog minds are hard to get over at first) through the beast and joined in. She alternated between furiously clawing through the slightly baked dough and gnawing away. She didn’t want to hurt either the person underneath or Breaddy. It was not too long before she located a decidedly non-bread-tasting piece of something. Upon a few soft bites, she detected the finger of a hand. Excited that she was helping to rescue her, Liz forgot about digging the girl out and proceeded to lick her fingers.
The soft dough enveloped Faye’s struggling form, blocking out the light and sounds from the outside.
Oh god oh god I’m gonna drown, need to get out! Don’t struggle it’s like quicksand, stay still. Let it move over you! No! Got to break free. Can’t breathe.
Wait what’s that noise? French? Oh god I’m going to get killed by a French bread monster. A baguette monster. Soooo going to haunt Foghorn Leghorn for this… Hey wasn’t that little kid French? Yes! If I get out of this I’ll never rag on the French again. Yeah cause that'll last...
“Hey! Ove-golmph” Ewwww, it went in my mouth. Ewwww Carbs in my mouth. Don’t swallow don’t swallow don’t swallow… Tastes nice No, I won’t eat it its gross… hey what’s that noise? Sounds like chewing. Oh no It’s eating me! The evil Carby French bread is eating me. I always knew I’d die like this!
Eaten by bread? That’s really how you thought you’d die? It’s got my fingers! Its biting them, no wait, licking them? Why would the evil carby French bread lick you?
Ummmm? Have you smelt me? Ooooh that tickles! Don’t laugh… don’t laugh don’t laugh*Snort* It’s in my nose, I can smelltaste it. Gross. Hate this day. Why does this always happen to me!
Grab one? But it was slimy with dog drool! Jude opted to help his savior excavate until they found the other hand. Then it was the simple matter of grabbing one wrist while his hero grabbed the other hand. Provided that they didn't trip over the hyper possessed dog, it seemed a simple feat to pull her free of the goo.
"1, 2, 3 HEAVE!"
Okay so... he wasn't as strong as he liked to imagine. But still... what could go wrong in this rescue? And besides... maybe he'd get to give mouth to mouth!

The boy did his best to help and they were soon joined by Angua. Unlike before, Angua now seemed as though she was trying to help instead of hinder. One hand was quickly found by Angua and then he and the kid found the other. Once they found both hands the two humans at the task latched on and pulled. They didn't do much with that tug but the one that followed was much more effective. Andrew was certain that the blonde underneath was not enjoying being dragged over rose bushes. He found that he couldn't care less. What mattered here was her continued ability to breath, not her happiness.
One further tug, combined with some movement from the creature, brought the blonde's head into view and with it her mouth. He almost wished they'd been pulling on her feet. At least then he wouldn't have had to deal with what would likely be a tirade blaming this on him. Andrew sighed and dragged the girl out to the point that she could free herself and stood up.
"Right, as soon as we're clear you're good to go Kate!"
Andrew stayed close in case the blonde couldn't move on her own. You never knew. He didn't enjoy being her savior but what else was there to do?
Kate stood on the porch and watched Angua and the boys dig out the blond girl. She couldn't do much until the girl was free without running the risk of hurting her. After a few minutes, Kate determined that she couldn't wait much longer to start cooking the thing. She chose a spot far enough away from where they were digging out the girl, noticing that they had found one of her hands, and started throwing fire balls at it. Each one hit with little effort on her part, but none of them seemed to make any kind of dent. They didn't even seem to be phasing the creature. No matter how much energy she spent in each ball it just wasn't enough to finish the thing off in any reasonable amount of time. Kate didn't like plan B but at this point it was really the only option. Especially seeing as the thing seemed to be making use of the larger amount of space found outside and was growing slowly.
Kate made her way over to Andrew and the others as they seemed to have the girl enough out that she could have easily continued removing herself on her own if she tried and nothing else went terrible wrong.
Faye felt herself being freed by the mean boy, a dog and a Frenchman. Huh, sounds like the start of a bad joke or a rejected Scooby doo line up
Standing up in the dough she pulled her legs free, trying to wipe as much as the dough off herself as did so.
Oh gross it’s all over me well you where inside it for a while I know but look at my top! Its ruined. Oh god it’s in my hair! That’s just great A minute ago you thought you were going to drown and now you’re whining about being messy? Do you have any idea how much this top cost? Do you? Do you put a value on your life to? This top is Gucci. Gucci! Now it’s wrecked! Its no-one’s fault. Oh yes it is, Yes. It. Is.
The heat from the fireballs was nothing compared to the burning gaze of ire that Faye concentrated at the back of Andrews’s neck. If he hadn’t started all of this off with cooking she would be in her room eating salad and not down a Gucci top. Sure he protested his innocence and was helping just as much as she was to stop the monster but dammit, her top was wrecked! He had crossed the wrong girl this day!

As Elizabeth licked the dough-covered fingers, strange sounds began emanating from the beast. It sounded like giggling. Why would Breaddy be giggling? She was licking the girl’s hand, not Breaddy. Food-Toy shouldn’t be giggling. Then Liz realized that it was the girl who was laughing. Oh. Well, that makes more sense. And it did. After all, who ever heard of a giant piece of living chew-toy giggle?
And then a little boy grabbed the hand away from her and began talking about heaving. Anguabeth didn’t understand. Why would he be talking about vomiting? The bread smelled too good for that. IF anything, he should be complaining about his stomach rumbling. She certainly was. But the boy tried pulling the hand out of her toy. Yes, that was good. Get the girl out of her friend. Breaddy didn’t need people inside of him/her/it. It just wasn’t natural.
Another guy was pulling the other hand out of the mess. He was the stupid guy who couldn’t understand Irish Houndish. She stayed by the smaller boy’s side, happily panting and barking in encouragement. He could do it. He had thumbs. She would’ve dragged the girl out already but she could only use her teeth and she didn’t want to seriously hurt anyone. Soon, the feat had been accomplished.
And then fire began pouring over her friend’s back.
“Eaerp!” Anguabeth shrieked, jumping back a step, the heat of the fireball washing over her. She skitted back several paces. She stared at Breaddy in horror. What were they doing to it? The human part of their combined minds held an answer. They were cooking it! “Arroooooo!” she whined in sadness. No, they couldn’t do that! They were going to kill Breaddy! Her friend! Her afternoon snack!
Anguabeth sat on her haunches, feeling defeated. This was beyond her. She couldn’t attack the girl throwing fireballs, lest they decide that she should be cooked as well. She couldn’t save Breaddy, for the same reason. She couldn’t run away because her legs wouldn’t listen to her. All she could do was….watch. She whimpered, her eyes full of sadness and despair.
Jude continued to help the mean girl who had almost been eaten by the dough— well, now he was working on becoming bread— monster. Yeah. There was icky sticky gooey break pieces still on her but they weren't trying to kill her. Jude picked at them. Hey. She was hot. And stark raving mad. Those kind of girls were fun and he was rather done with the dough monster. He had been schlorped on too, but not nearly as bad.
"I'd rather not singe." So he motioned for the girl to join him some more paces back. When this was all said and done... they had better butter that toast... or marmalade.
"I like my toast a bit dark!" He shouted for the toaster to hear. Surely they wouldn't waste that much dough.

Now that the others were safe they were essentially irrelevant. Andrew concentrated on Kate as she fireballed the thing. It wasn't having much of an effect. Kate made her way over to him and asked him if he'd catch her. Remembering what she'd said in the office with Sam, Andrew knew what she planned on doing. He moved close behind Kate with his arms ready to catch her.
"Whenever you're ready Kate."
Honestly he was more than a little afraid to be this close to Kate when she was about to unleash a being on fire on the bread beast. Andrew hadn't seen it before but just the thought of something like that was frightening. However Kate had asked for his help and if this was the only way to be rid of the thing then so be it. It would be a blessing to be rid of it. He glanced at the others around. The blonde was glaring at him and that was no surprise. It would be winter on the sun before they ever got along. The dog howled in sorrow. He'd have to remember to buy something special for Angua to make up for the loss. Apparently she'd grown attached to the gigantic bread thing. The boy concentrated his efforts on the blonde for several moments and then told Kate that he liked his toast dark. Andrew grinned at that one.
Kate sighed deeply focusing on the bottom of her lungs as she closed her eyes and breathed in through her nose. White smoke rose from the depths of her soul and Kate collapsed into an unconscious heap, falling into Andrew's waiting arms.
The smoke began to mold and form into a shape that vaguely resembled a woman and burst into flames. These were not the flames you would see in a fireplace or in your backyard, these where white and blue and almost blinding.
As if from no where the creature came to life and opened it eyes to gaze upon the young man now holding Its captor. The black voids that were Its eyes looked from the young man, then to Kate and then back again, trying to send a message, as well as determine if the man was a more immediate thread then the task at hand before turning to the matter in question. Kate had already determined that fire balls were not going to work on the monster but thankfully It did not have the limitations Kate did. It advanced and had no trouble catching up with the monster which was still growing and moving further into the yard.
The elemental choose to access the situation before diving in blindly, It had always been a being of logic and logic dictated strategy. It quickly deduced a plan based on past observations and got to work, moving around the monster and cooking the outside with streams of fire emitted from it's hands. After only 10 minutes the monster was stopped in its tracks but could be seen trying to push its way past its bonds. The elemental moved to stand in its way, knowing it would soon break free and when it did it ate her alive. The monster started cooking from the inside.
After what could have seemed like an eternity, but was really only about 15 minutes, the yeast was dead and the elemental had quickly gone from White to Orange, escaping just in time before it went out completely from lack of oxygen.
Kate was left in Andrew's arms unconscious and the monster was left as a giant loaf of bread in the yard.
Faye let the boy pick bits of dough off her, he was kinda cute in that add five years way plus European; that was pretty cool. “Thanks for saving me, I’m Faye. You go here?” ‘You go here?’ Hi would you like to take a seat over there… What? Ew no, don’t be like that conscience.
>>>"I'd rather not singe." “Good idea”
She moved back a few metres and smiled at his joke, she was surprised how well… well someone who just was a kid really was coping with this whole thing.
Then Kate exploded. Ok later when she’d tell this story and exaggerate her part in it she’d say Kate exploded, as it was she seemed to leak smoke from her nose that formed this thing, this living thing made out of fire. F@%kin fire. And not normal fire, y’know fire? No this lady shaped fire was blue and white. And it had these eyes, just pits of black that seemed to go on forever.
The heat that radiated from it was immense and she found herself throwing herself on top of the European boy, like some sort of shield, carrying them both down to the ground. “Sorry about that, Y’know hot, Umm maybe we should move a bit further back”
The thing, Kate? seemed to take its time killing the bread monster with lances of fire. She had no love for that bread monster but she didn’t want to think about if it felt pain. Its just Flour, water and yeast. It doesn’t have nerves. It can’t feel pain So why do I feel so bad about this? Suddenly Faye wasn’t that hungry anymore.
His own personal, human female shield. Gee willikers. Even his freckles turned red, but he tried to maintain all his doughy decorum as he fell, clobbered to the grass lawn.
He would, of course, exaggerate this in his mind later and upon its retelling.
She JUMPED him. Practically tore his clothes off. Well, since they were both doughy, their clothes were rather glued together now. It would take some serious disrobing or serious tugging to free himself. Neither of which were high on his list right now.
Cough. "Usually I would have liked to buy you dinner first..."
But then... there was an entire fresh-baked loaf just laying there, ready for a GIANT jar of marmalade.

Heat washed over the mutant-canine combo as fire cascaded through the air. Anguabeth’s eyes were huge and glassy, revealing the deep pain and sadness within her. She was watching her friend die, a slow, painful, delectable smelling, horrible death. And there was nothing she could do. Liz was just in a dog’s body. She had no defense or offense against fire. No way of helping her friend without hurting the firecaster. And it she did that, she could be hurt by the fire too.
A long whine emanated from her throat as she laid down on the grass. Her head rested on her paws. There was nothing she could do. The despair welled up in her and into Liz, but it wasn’t spilling over her mental barriers yet, as elevated as they were within Angua. She was about twenty feet from any humans. She was alone. She was even farther away from Breaddy. And nobody could help! They were just sitting there, killing it!
And then the temperature rose much higher as a giant fireball in the shape of a human flew through the air. It stopped in front of Breaddy. Breaddy absorbed it. Noooooo! she cried. “ArrrRRRoooo!” she wailed. Slowly, she could smell the scents in the air changing. She could smell bread cooking. She could smell the death of her friend. And no more than fifteen minutes later, her friend was dead.
Elizabeth lowered the barriers of her mind, allowing her sadness to flow over and flood the emotional pools of all the animals within range. Everything from the lowliest of ants to the chirpiest birds to the friskiest cats were suddenly overcome with heart-felt despair. They stopped what they were doing to mourn.

(Final Round folks. Those of you who haven't made a wrap-up/exit post do so now)
The blonde had a name. Fantastic. Now he had something to call her. Not that he cared to call her Faye. Princess, idiot, spoiled brat, and other such appellations were more appealing. More important than that was watching the smoke that had come out of Kate when she'd essentially passed out. It coalesced into a being composed entirely of fire. Hearing Kate talk about it and seeing it happen were two different things entirely. It was white and blue flame contained into the form of a humanoid. Where the face would be were set two black eyes of a sort.
Those eyes were staring at him. It was beyond creepy, being the focus of those eyes. It seemed to glance between him and Kate. Maybe it had a message in that, Andrew didn't know. Maybe it just thought he was dangerous and was warning him not to touch it's host. Even if he had actually been dangerous there was no way he'd do anything to Kate. With that thing around you'd have to be a fool or a water elemental to even try.
Andrew watched the thing work and as he did he thought back to the conversations on the day she'd first come to the mansion and the conversations that had come later. Watching that thing work and knowing what he did about her mutation...words didn't seem to do it justice. The bread was soon completely cooked and the elemental returned from within the creature burning orange. It was finally over. Now that that thing was taken care of there was a boatload to do. He'd have to drop Kate off at her room. It would probably be better for her to sleep there. After that he'd come back down here and start getting the kitchen cleaned up.
What would he do about the doors? No one ever mentioned the clean up of the collateral damage from this sort of thing. It wasn't exciting enough he supposed. Imagine an entire issue of Batman devoted solely to him cleaning up the messes from his battles with the Joker and the rest of his rogues gallery. With a sigh Andrew carefully adjusted his hold on Kate and headed into the mansion. No better time than the present.
