So many thank you's and congratulations were flying around that it was starting to make Ghost feel a little embarrassed.
"You aren't anything to sneeze at, Mister Jorge. You find the fires before we ever arrive on scene. It's hard to be the first man at a scene. If they hadn't been worried about you, we wouldn't have been able to sneak around back." Becoming more and more solid, Ghost noticed more and more the pallor of her fellow X-man. When she came fully into her weight, she took a few steps toward sweet Kealey Quinn who worried if Ghost of all people had gotten hurt.
"Are you sure you are alright?" She'd had a bit of practice mothering and the sylph put that into action now. Her cool hands rested against Kealey's flushed face and she tried to gauge if this episode had made her friend ill. "It's all the excitement. We should get you home to the Mansion."
To the boy who had made it out the window and back she smiled. "Some excitement, huh? Are you hurt? Would you like to visit a healer instead of the emergency room?" She was in fine mothering form now. A cool hand dabbed at Andrew's face next. Eye dilated, scrapes and bruises...Yep. She was taking him home to see the doc whether he liked it or not. "I'll call a cab."
The air elemental took a few steps away for privacy as she dialed.
After she pressed the red button —that was the way to hang up, by the way. And the green one meant go. Jude had taught her these important phone things— Ghost went to shake the water mutant's hand one last time.
"Thank you for taking care of us and if you ever need anything, you should know where to find us by now." She grinned all bright and shiny. To tell the truth she was tired after all that, but running on fumes made her burn all the brighter.
