The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Mike carried Tricity up to the part of the infirmary where he usually carried her when she collapsed. "Doc? We need some help here," he called out as he set her down gently.
*Tricity's eyes opened up slowly and she could feel herself being placed into a bed. Everything was rather blurry, but she could make out that she was in the infirmary. Suddenly a searing pain hit her stomach.* "OOOW! Oh, GOD!! Uh...I think I might be having contractions..."
Mike resisted the urge to say 'I told you so.' "Um, Doc? We need a less excitable medical oppinion over here," he called out.
"Delilah? Just relax... whatever's going on, it's definitely going to be all right, so try to relax," he said, taking her hand if for no other reason than to give her something to take out the pain on.
*Tricity looked over at him for a moment.* "...Mike..." *She whispered while squeezing his hand, but suddenly she was out again, the color draining from her face and her breathing becoming shallow. The DocProf rushed over and quickly began an analysis of the situation.* docprof: "Her water isn't broken, but these contractions may be real. I'll have to try and stop this." *He put his hands over her stomach to try and help her and the baby calm down.*
Michael's eyes glowed blue as he entered her mind... unconscious or not. "Leave the calming to me," he said in a somewhat distant voice.
He slowed the activity of her pain receptors for the moment, dulling the pain, and began cleaning her mind for when she woke up, brushing away the fears and the panic, leaving her with an emotional clean slate for when she came to again.
*Tricity's mind relaxed along with her body, but it didn't stop the nightmares that were brewing inside her head. She saw everything from the mansion burning to the ground to the X-Men having to kill Orion while she was held restrained by others. It was a continuous, horrible night of terrifying images.*
He descended into the dreamscape on blue wings. "Delilah," he said, standing constant through the ever-shifting nightmare around her. "This is nothing," he said gently. "Fear distorting reality, showing you things that won't happen."
He touched the people holding her back, and they disappeared, he waved a hand past the X-Men fighting Orion, and they disappeared as well. A shell of psychic energy surrounded both of them, leaving the nightmare playing out as it had been, but unable to touch her.
*Tricity's being had begun to relax. Her breathing started to return to normal, but the DocProf shook his head.* docprof: "She's in some type of coma...Not a serious one though. She should wake within a couple days at the most. There's just too much stress on her and the pregnancy is making her weak. Because of her mutation, it's like the eletric firings in her brain shut down every now and again. If this baby takes on some new mutation that takes after both the parents, the baby could be one of the most powerful mutants ever..." *The old man put a hand on Mike's shoulder.* docprof: "Let her rest. She'll be all right. You're a great friend and rightfully second in command." *There was a hint in the man's voice as if that meant for Mike to take control of what was happening or what was going to happen.*
Mike looked at Tricity for a long while. He nodded slowly, then bent over and kissed her forehead.
"I promised you I'd bring him home... and I will. You trusted me to make sure that this mission was carried out... and it will be."
"I won't pretend I'm not afraid, but that's not going to stop me. If I have to go to hell and back, I'm going to finish this once and for all. I've had a glimpse of your future and mine... whatever I have to do, I'm going to make sure that they can come true after today."
As he walked slowly to the door of the infirmary, the faintest image of his psychic wings were visible. He stopped after a few steps. "Sleep and dream of better days, Delilah. It's my turn to save the world."
As he strode, a bit more confidently, for the door, he sent out a telepathic message to all of the members of the team. "All X-Men to the War Room. We're finishing this."

Tricity awoke in the infirmary, completely unsure of what happened or how she even got there. She looked up and saw the Doc Prof tending to one of the teenage boys who was totally dirty with grass stains on his clothing. No doubt he was playing football with some of the others. She picked up her head and the Doc turned in her direction.
"Doc, what the hell happened?" Tricity asked, taking her cell phone from the bed side table and checking the date. "How long have I been here?"
"Delilah..." he started, but didn't finish. His face was filled with concern.
"Out with it Doc. Just tell me." All the terrible possibilities started running through her mind on what could possibly be wrong. Was it the kids? Orion? The X-Men?
"You're having some difficulty in the pregnancy. Not long after the meeting in the War Room, Janie came to your room to say goodnight and found you on the floor. You need to rest," he explained, giving her a glass of water.
"Well, I've rested enough." She began getting out of bed, but he put his arm out and stopped her.
"No. Not this time. If you don't take it easy, I don't know if your baby will be...ok." There was a lot of concern in his face and she hadn't seen anything like it except for the battle on the front yard when Ire, Gorgon, Del, Fumio, Orion, and a few others had led to their near deaths. She didn't need anymore words from him and instead, nodded her head in compliance. "I'm afraid...Mike and Daria are missing."
"Oh God..." Tricity sighed and a sudden idea came to her. She decided to call someone from her past.
