The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Jorge
Jorge nodded as he pulled his cell phone out of his jean pocket. “Yeah, even though they don’t deserve that luxury. They’ll at least be placed under arrest after they are looked at.”
As he dialed the number and waited for the line to pick up, he had to wonder what was going to happen next. The young girl had merely defended herself from these jerks, but would her side of the story really be listened too? After all, despite her age, she did have a rather terrifying ability that gave her the edge over the drunken fools. Then again, she was merely defending herself and she did have a witness in him to prove that. Still, he was conflicted as to whether or not that was something he wanted to put her through. She was young and so far it seemed as if she were being prosecuted enough because of her mutation.
Was he walked among them, he still contemplated what he was going to tell them. There were only a few members of the gang left behind and most of them were merely either knocked out or had bled into unconsciousness (well, at least the one Amber had incapacitated). Aside from them, none of them seemed to be in too grave a condition. Please, their story about being attacked by a dinosaur in the middle of the street, along with a reading on their current blood alcohol level should make reliance on their story even more difficult.
With another glance to Amber, Jorge gave her a quick, reassuring smile and finally spoke when the line was picked up.
“Yes,there are several drunken youths that looked pretty beat up and there are dangerous weapons around them.”
Jorge continued on the phone, gave emergency services the street that he was on as he started to kick away all the fallen weapons of the gang members. He refused to give his name and instead said he would rather remain anonymous and hung up the phone. With that he returned to Amber and gave her a small nod with his head.
“Well, I guess when you say, you can take care of yourself, you’re not lying,” he said with a small smirk. With that he whistled sudden and sharp. Before they knew it, Lizzie peeked out from behind the corner of a building and hurried back to Jorge with a piece of tattered jean in her mouth. As soon as she reappeared at his side, he smirked as he patted her softly between her ears, which made her drop the cloth. He then seized her leash again and looked to Amber. “That should hold off any more distractions. How about we get you home?”
Amber nodded at the wisdom of the cop before her. He had obviously dealt with this sort of thing before but it was all new to her. Sure she had run from mobs in the past, but never really turned and fought off a large group of people. In fact, this was only the second time she had ever fought at all, the first time being when someone tried to stab her and that had only been one person. It wasn't an experience that she wanted to repeat but she had a horrible idea that she would probably have to. Again and again and again and that was only because she had the misfortune to be a mutant who found it impossible to blend into the human world effectively.
As Amber listened to Jorge give his report to the people who were going to send the ambulance, it was then that she realized that what she needed most was to learn to fight. It wasn't that she wanted to fight, not at all, but if this sort of thing was going to keep happening, it seemed important. Sure she could shift but what if she didn't have time to do so? After all, shifting took time and even if it wasn't a lot of time, it was still a period in which she was completely vulnerable.
Once Jorge was off the phone and suggested that the two of them begin once again on their journey back to her home, that's when Amber decided to ask. "D-do you think you could teach me to fight? J-just in case I get attacked again. I d-don't really want to hurt anyone but maybe some basic self defense would be good." Unless she was considered too dangerous even for such basic training? Which would have been ridiculous because there were lots of mutants more dangerous than she was. There was one lady she'd met at Sanctuary that could literally cause your skin to rot with a mere touch. Now she was frightening, much more frightening than dinosaur shifting.
Amber spotted a distant glimps of Sanctuary. It wasn't far now and she had never been more happy to see its golden doors in her life.

Jorge
>> "D-do you think you could teach me to fight?"
There was a small pause at which the detective could only look at the young woman with surprise. This young mutant, one how had the ability to transform into some of the most dangerous creatures he had ever seen, wanted to know if he could teach her how to fight hand-to-hand. There was some reservation in Jorge at the idea of it. Though he knew her powers were deadly, the idea of her knowing how to fight in human form as well seemed to add to that danger. Then again, she was the one persecuted, not the other way around. She did not seem like the type who would misuse knowledge and she did manage to reveal that she did have great restraint in dealing with her attackers.
Then the question came to mind of how would he go about doing this? It was not like he had some dojo or was even an accredited martial artist. He was a boxer, a grappler, and standard police training. He knew how to take care of himself, so what was wrong with passing down some of that knowledge? After all, young mutants and humans are persecuted every day, what was wrong in knowing how to defend themselves without overly relying on dangerous abilities?
As he watched her closely, Jorge simply nodded as he reached into his back pocket and pulled out his wallet. From inside he grabbed his contact card and handed it over to her.
“You know, I think it would be a very good idea I did. Here, this card has my contact information. I will show you some moves in case you’re in a bind, but you know never take the law into your own hands, okay? You defend yourself, then you run,” he said plainly. He did not want her to think he thought of her as a threat or something, but the truth was that so long as she stayed on the defending side of things, she could not be labeled as too dangerous to be on her own.
Lizzie walked happily in front of them as Jorge continued to lead Amber back to her home. He ran the thoughts through his mind, trying to figure out when and where he could teach her. Could this count as community service? He smirked at the idea as he accompanied Amber.
“You call me tomorrow okay?” He said with a smile. “I think some officers talk about a boxing gym that can rented out. I can rent it for the night. We can do some training in there okay?”
