The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I'm sure you've got plenty of time before you need to know your schedule," Amber answered. Actually, that might have been a bit of an exaggeration since Fall classes were only a few days away but he did, at least, have a few days of waiting ahead of him.
Taking out her blackberry and looking at the time, Amber realized there wasn't long before her next class was starting up. Yuck. Math. Couldn't someone just exterminate it off of the face of the planet? Ok, so maybe she didn't hate it quite that much, but if someone could at least exterminate it off of the face of her class schedule, she'd be grateful. What did a dinosaur mutant need with fractions and algebra anyway?
"I'd be grateful if you could help me with math!" Amber replied with enthusiasm. Perhaps a little bit too much enthusiasm and her cheeks reddened slightly. Oops. Maybe he wouldn't notice that she had just embarrassed herself? Of course, with her paper white skin, it was hard not to notice the blush that followed.
"Pretty much just math and biology this summer. When fall starts I've also got English Literature and chemistry." It had seemed like a pretty decent coarse load at the time. Enough to keep her on her toes but, hopefully, not so much that she'd be swamped with work and homework.
>>> "I'd be grateful if you could help me with math!"
Lance smiled at Amber’s eager, if not enthusiastic, acceptance of his offer to help her with her math subject.
Lance noticed Amber looking at her blackberry. ”Is it okay if we exchanged contact numbers?” he asked, taking out his own mobile phone. ”So that we can set schedules when you need help with math.”
Lance glanced at the kitchen clock and realized that they had been there for almost an hour now. My, time sure flies when you’re having fun...
”Do still have classes after this?” Lance asked, concern suddenly evident in his voice. He did not want to be the reason for Amber to miss her classes.
"Sure," Amber answered taking out her precious blackberry. It was surpsing just how much use the thing had given her, one of the fist gifts from her adopted father. Even in certain dinosaur forms it had allowed her to communicate via text message when she otherwise would have been completely unable to do so.
Once Amber had siccessfully gotten Lance's number and given up her own number, she consulted the clockk on her device once again. "Unfortunally I h-have one more class today," she said, apologetically. "I sh-should probably go. But it was nice meeting you."
Taking one last cookie for the road, Amber put her backpac back on and prepared to make her exit. "Let me know w-what your classes are like. Who knows, m-maybe we'll even have one in common."

”I’d like to walk you to your class, if you’d allow me,” Lance told Amber, as he went about returning the bread, the jars of peanut butter and jelly and the carton of apple juice inside the refrigerator. He hurriedly packed the remaining sandwiches in a paper bag for later consumption. The dishes and glasses used were quickly washed and returned to their proper places.

”Will do that.” Lance answered smiling. ”So, shall we?” he asked as he moved towards the dining room, his small package of sandwiches in hand.
"Of c-course you can," Amber replied with a smile. She liked Lance, he seemed nice and she saw no reason why she should have to walk to class alone since she had received the offer. She coudln't remember ever being so popular in her previous life. Everyone seemed to be friendly here.
As it turned out, Amber's Math class was almost on the complete opposite side of the building and the building was rather extensive. She did eventually arrive, however, and once there she waved her departure to her new friend and entered the lion's den, so to speak. She would defeat math and make it tap out to her!

Lance was glad that Amber had allowed him to walk her to her class. As it turned out, the math class was situated on the far side of the mansion. Lance, therefore, had the rare opportunity of being toured twice around the ground floor of the mansion. First by Shin upon his arrival earlier and now, by Amber, the first friend he had made in the mansion.
When they finally reached her classroom, Amber waved farewell to Lance as she entered the room to face the challenge that was math.
Lance was pretty sure that despite her dislike for her math subject, Amber will be able to pass it and he will be there to lend a hand if ever she will need one.
Turning around, Lance went back the way he came from. Looking into each of the classrooms as he passed them.
With nothing else to do, Lance utilized the remainder of the day to further explore the grounds of the mansion.
